The school was large and made of bricks. Something dark and gloomy seemed to be shrouding it. I shivered, and pulled my green zip-up hood around me tighter. I was 30 minutes early for school, I just wanted to check the place out. I didn't want to go to school, I didn't need to go to school. But I had to. "Blend in" they said "build trust". Did I have a choice? No. So here I was, being forced to go to Middle School. Another gust of wind came, and my long black hair blew in my face. I hated it here, so cold and snowy. I wondered if this place would be like my last school, or the one before that, or the one before that. At least I didn't have wear a uniform. I thought of Luke. He was probly at home, sleeping, like the others. He had it easy. Yah, he also had to move, city to city, but he had the looks, the attitude, the smile. Wherever he went, he seemed to brighten up the place. We were really exact opposites. He had spiky, golden blonde hair, while mine was black and long. He had tan, spotless skin, while mine was pale with assorted scars on my arms and legs. He had wonderful baby blue eyes, but mine were dark and grey. He was great with people; he was loose and happy, bright and outgoing. Me? Not as much. I'm claustrophobic, and always watching my back. I don't trust anyone, other then the ones I love, and let's just say I'm not the most open girl you'll ever meet. Suddenly I was aware of my surroundings. Someone was yelling at me. "You! Hey you! Hey, girl!" I spun around to see a brown haired girl with big hazel eyes. "Who are you? Are you new here? You know you've been standing there for like, an hour?" I rolled my eyes and began to walk away. "Hey, you can't just walk away from me! What's your name?" I gritted my teeth. What I hate more then someone who talks too much is a person that asks questions. I was about to spin around and tell her to shut up, when a few buss loads of kids rode up. I'm not much of a people person, so I quickly headed over to the principals office. As soon as I opened the door, I was greeted by the strong smell of perfume and an older woman sitting in a swivel chair, filing her nails. "And who might you be?" Her voice was old and cracked. "Are you the new student I heard about?" I nodded, looking down at my green sneakers. She smiled "Your name, deary?" "Oak Willows..." I said quietly. "Sorry sweaty. Didn't get that." "Oak Willows." I repeated a little louder. "What a lovely name. Pleased to meet you, dear." She held out her hand, but I put my hands in my pocets. You can never be too safe. "Oh." She brought her arm back. "Well, heres your scedual. The eight grade building is to the left. The one with orange lockers and blue doors. She handed me a slip of paper with teacher names and rooms. I nodded and qucikly ran out of the sweet-smelling room into the fresh, clean air. After I found the building, I went to my first class, Mrs.Woodlen. She was in her mid 30's, by the look of her. She had short londe hair, and was around, eh... 5'4, my hight. She saw me as soon as I got to the door. "Oh, hello." She greated me warmly. "You must be..." She checked a peice of paper. "Oak Willows." I nodded, and a few kids in the class snickred. "Well Oak, you can sit..." Straning her neck, she looked around the rows of desks. Her face lit up. "I know. YOu can sit next to Blaze." I looked. "Who's Blaze?" I asked. Two girls in a corner of the room raised their eyebrows and whispred to each other. A hand raised up. "I'm Blaze." It was a pale, black haired boy. I nodded and sat at the empty desk next to him. I looked at him more. He apparently camefrom a welthy family, because he wore expensive, clean clothes. His eyes were a bright, shocking green, and, if I must admit, he was very, very handsome. But I have learned in the past, looks can be deceving. Smiling at me, he opened his mouth to talk, but Mrs.Woodlen interupted. "Now Oak here is new, so I need a volenteer to show her around, maby give her a little tour during lunch." Only five people raised thier hands. Fine. I thought. I dont need help. Im fine on my own. I spotted the ones with their hands raised. One of them was a short haired brunett, another, a boy with red hair and braces, and an african-amearican with long, braided hair. The other two suprised me. The chatty, annoying, question throwing girl, and *gasp* Blaze!
