3 -4 Weeks Later...
Now the reason three weeks have been skipped is because nothing worth while has happened since then. Now was around the time I was ready to get in touch with my parents. This was the day that both Chuck and Bryan, who have been absent since our little incidents, returned to school. This was the day everything got quite interesting.
----
Thursday Night
By now I had a car. No, not the one from Italy, turns out Lauraine had something to do with that. So what I had now was a steel colored LS Hybrid Lexus.
As soon as I pulled up in front of his house Chace came out in jeans and a black long sleeve sweater. It was pretty cold out today. I was wearing basically the same thing except I had a gray jacket on over my sweater.
He got in the car.
"Seriously." he said, immediately blasting the heater. "I'm starting to think that my car isn't good enough for you anymore."
I rolled my eyes.
"Mine's just better." I scrunched my nose. "Ugh Chace, did you bathe in oranges today or something?"
He looked at me seriously.
"You want me to attack you right here then I wont wear it anymore."
My heartbeat sped up. I knew why he was wearing it. He hinted that things were getting harder to control over the past few weeks, which to me made no sense. I mean wouldn't he be getting more used to my scent? Regardless, it drove me crazy. There was no denying that I wanted it. I wouldn't say or even think what 'it' was, but my whole body was craving it. I tightened my legs trying to keep all thoughts and feeling clean. The devilish smirk that came over Chace's face didn't help me at all.
I started to drive the car and he leaned back in his seat, stretching, revealing his lower abs and his arms, his entire body just looking excruciatingly sexy. I had to get used to this. Chace, Dayna, James, and I came to the conclusion that I'm most in sync with my vampire side. Chace was absolutely delighted, reminding me every second how sexual vampires could be and how sexual they naturally are.
"Childish Chace." I said, trying to keep my face from expressing how I was feeling. How I've been feeling for the past few weeks. Lauraine basically ditched the house after the whole knife incident and I didn’t give a damn. I had it all to myself. Ha, and Chace has been trying to sleep over since then. You should've seen the look on his face the day I picked him up with James in the car. James did happen to get the sleepover privilege. He could barely smell me anyway, and he'd gotten used to it.
Thankfully James and I spoke the day after I woke from the hospital. He simply told me that he couldn't remember a thing after he and Chace beat up Chuck and I didn't push it. I really was going to handle this and I don't think I wanted any of them involved anyway.
"Horny Hybrid." he retorted.
I smacked him in the stomach.
"I'll hit you back harder." he smirked.
I had to turn my head as a surprise lip bite came onto my features.
----
When we got to school it was off to music class, seeing as I got to Chace's house pretty late.
By now Claire and Lance had already officially gotten together. Funny how it happened the day after he saw me and Chace messing around during first period last week. He had come to give a letter to Ms. Willchester and saw Chace and I in combat, well not really. We had basically forgotten the lesson and started wrestling once I gave him a good hit in the jaw. He had me pinned to the ground, just inches from my face and that was when Lance saw, letting out the loudest throat clear in the history of throat clears.
Lance had his hands all over Claire's body as he kissed her in front of the door to music class. I walked in and was immediately bombarded by James.
"Rayne!" he exclaimed. "Did you hear?"
"Did I hear what?" I asked, Chace beside me looking just as interested.
"Chuck." James said. "He's all healed and he's back today."
A flash of anger crossed my face, but I suppressed it. I haven't seen him since he tried to - well you know.
"Yea and your favorite teacher's back." James said with a playful smirk, but I could still feel the anger from the last comment emitting from him.
Of course he was smirking, because he like everyone else except Chace didn't know that Bryan also tried to take advantage of me sexually, minus the wanting to kill me. Chace's fists were clenched so tightly his knuckles had lost all color. His jaw was clenched as well, making it look as if he'd self-detonate in mere seconds.
"We should go sit." I said, pulling Chace along, it was as if he shattered the way he had moved after I took him out of his stiff posture.
We sat on the bleacher/staircase like seats. Chace and James were on either side of me. James staring off into space, I could see him killing Chuck in his head and Chace still had his fists clenched on his lap. I couldn't even imagine what he was doing and who he was doing it to at this point.
I sighed, moving my hand on top of his. He loosed his grip and I laced my fingers into his, squeezing. He looked over to me, but I didn't look at his face. I didn't want to see it. It kind of scared me that he'd actually have some kind of feeling for me. Yea he hadn't been with any girl since the party. Mainly because he's been spending most of his time with me, but still, I was afraid that he'd just go back to dating multiple girls.
----
We were in our studio. Lance was telling James about last nights races and underground fight clubs. I was messing around with Chace inside of the actual recording box. Today there was basically nothing to do but mess around.
"So I was thinking," I said, leaning against the wall. "...that I might try the station."
"What're you talking about?" Chace responded, messing around with the recording headphones in the center of the box.
"To get in contact with my parents."
He dropped the headphones.
"Oh. Why the station? It sounds like you're trying to get yourself in trouble."
"Well if that's what it takes."
"No Rayne. Getting yourself locked up in an immortal jail is no joke."
"A little disruption won't get me locked up and besides if that were to happen then I'd have to talk to my parents. Let's just hope it won't come to that."
"Rayne, I don't want to cause havoc down there."
"You? No Chace, you won't have to do anything. I just thought that I should tell someone what I would be doing. Alone.
He laughed mockingly.
"You think that I'm gonna let you go alone?"
"You don't have a choice." I said.
"No, you don't have a choice. What you're doing has serious consequences."
"Which is why I should -"
"Have someone there to help you get out of them."
We were having a stare-off right about now and to tell you the truth I think he was gonna win.
I sighed, dropping my gaze.
"Fine."
He nodded.
I looked around the room, thinking of something to fill the silence. I looked up at Chace who was looking over at Lance and James through the glass separating us.
"You and James ever had a thing?" Chace inquired nonchalantly, still looking over at them.
"Um, no. I wouldn't call it a thing." I said, looking at them too. "We've just been friends since childhood. I mean he was my first fake kiss, and my first real one. It wasn't anything lovey dovey though. We'd always been kinda flirty, but really just friends at heart. He was the one who introduced me Lance. Why so curious?" I tore my eyes away from the two and looked to Chace.
*Chace's POV*
In that little room over there were two guys, both firsts for Rayne. Even though she was only up to small talk with Lance I knew he was still important to her the same way everyone could tell she was still important to him.
Then James, James the guy that she could be flirty with, the guy she could trust, and the guy that could stay the night at her house. He was a vampire. A vampire that could somewhat smell her. A vampire that she trusted. One that under the right circumstances she could let bite her. He was really my main worry right now. Not that I like to admit that. I actually hate to admit that, but there was no denying that Rayne meant a lot to me now...
*Rayne's POV*
He hadn't answered me; he was still staring at Lance and James. I laughed silently at myself, shaking my head. Every guy in this room was respected. They threatened people just by walking down the hall. Haha, and me, I was drawn to each of them. I meant something to them and I'm just trying to figure what that means about my character. It's like I'm a theory. I know who I am at all times until new information is discovered.
The bell rang, yanking me out of my head. Let's see what my actions say about my character in the upcoming periods.
