“Mother” Tristan said as we walked into her tent, it was smaller then his but all purple inside.
“Hello son, oh this must be her” she said and smiled sweetly at me.
Was it me or was everyone really nice to me?.... well mostly anyways.
“Mom- is there something specific you needed me for?” he asked and she shook her head from side to side gently “Then why are we here?” he asked sounding slightly angry.
“I wanted to see you, is that so bad?” she said and handed him a box.
He rolled his eyes and then his head snapped up and he left the tent quickly leaving me there with her.
“Sara, I see you are all cleaned up, looking much better” she said and handed me a glass I looked inside to see what looked like coffee?
I took a sip, it was coffee yet it tasted better, richer, stronger, and I loved it.
“How do you know my name?”I asked
“I know a lot about you Sara, I know a lot about everyone” she said and sat down on her make shift couch.
“Are you like telepathic? Or something?”
She smiled and shook her head
“just a gift something I am very good at, I read people”
“your son seems to read people as well, well smells them I guess I don’t know what I'm saying it is all very shocking to be honest”
“my son has other talents I am a watcher I do not take wolf form, I am the only one in the camp the others all take form”
“he saved me” I whispered
“yes I know, Nina disobeyed orders as well, but you shouldn't have been in the forest my dear”
“I realized that when I was being hunted” I blurted out
“I'm sure you did. My son is waiting for you, he will explain everything to you and answer all questions”
She took my cup and nodded towards the entrance of the tent, apparently it was time to go.
“thank you” I said and she smiled I nodded
I walked outside and glanced around and found Tristan standing there with his arms crossed over his chest.
I was unsure if I was to go to him or stand in one spot like an idiot.
“Come we must talk” Tristan said and walked past me towards the forest, I followed having a bit of trouble keeping up with his pace.
“where are we going?” I asked as we walked into the forest.
The trees were thick and the sky was still dark, I tripped several times trying to keep up.
“we need to talk outside the pack” he said short
We came to a small clearing it had rocks and a the ground was compacted dirt the stones had symbols on them.
He sat on one of the rocks I on another.
“there are things you need to know once you leave and go back to town our existence needs to be kept quiet no one must find out we are here” he explained and I sat there quietly savouring the sound of his voice. “I will return you to your hotel room and you will leave in the morning never to come back to this place again”
“wait hold up I paid for a room for a month I am not leaving until my stay is over”
“fine but you will not say a word of this to anyone”
“okay... who would believe me anyways?” I said and he snorted a short laugh
“more then you may think”
“I want you to see a doctor as well you were hurt and I do not want to see the injuries go un attended”
“I'm fine really I was bandaged up”
“yes but your wrist is broken I cannot heal that”
“your mother said you would answers question, she said nothing about you sending me away”
“my mother thinks I will keep you here, that your scent called to me that it is a sign, but I will not be bringing in civilians into my pack”
“my scent calls to you?” I was confused
“come I will show you the way out of the forest and bring you back safety”
He stood and started walking away I reached out and grabbed his arm a growl came from his throat and I snapped my hand back.
“I have more questions”
“you do not need to know anything else you are leaving”
“why did you kiss me?”
“I an animal Sara your body was screaming willingness and I took advantage nothing more nothing less”
“you were smelling me!” I stated
He smirked “I have not smelled anything sweeter, I did not want my pack destroying such a potent and sinfully seductive scent”
I swallowed hard the way he said seductive made my knees weak and my insides quiver, damn it here I go again, if he had been in wolf form I'm sure his ears would have perked up to my sudden willingness to be laid on the ground and taken by him any way he wanted, instead his head cocked to the side and he smiled seductively and almost evil like as he looked me up and down.
“you should fear me Sara I am not only man, and you do tempt my animal side something fierce do not mistake me for a mortal male, I will take something if it is given... even if you are unsure it is willing” he warned
Oh god something must be severely wrong with me he was talking about practically raping me and here I was picturing us naked in the middle of the rocks on the hard ground him pressing himself so close to me our naked bodies moving as one.
“show me the way out of here” I stated and he smiled again
“this way” he said and I followed him
We hiked through the forest, my wrist was hurting again and my legs ached from the hike and the fall. The ground was slippery and the tree roots were un kind as I walked over them they tripped me and on a couple of occasions almost sending me face first to the ground but I caught myself. Tristan walked through the forest like he was walking on a perfectly even ground with nothing for him to trip on he was almost majestic looking as he went up over and around tree roots how his feet never seemed to run away from him.
The tree line broke and we were in the city the hotel was only a little bit away I was closer than I thought, we had come out a different way.
“I believe you will be fine from here go to your room get some rest and finish your vacation with no more thoughts of the wolves in the forest” he stopped walking and turned to face me.
“thank you for showing me the way out, I promise not to speak of this to anyone” I said and he nodded one short nod
He walked closer to me and stood right in front of me “ live a full life Sara have children and meet a man who will cherish you, who will take care of you and live a long happy life with you, take each day and remember that you are alive. I will never forget you Sara” he said and leaned down kissing my lips softly at first, then deepening the kiss as his fingers feather light on my cheek, he pulled away “ good bye Sara” he kissed my forehead then walked back into the forest a few minutes later I heard the howl of a wolf a strong howl that would have any man weeping in fear.
I first went to the hospital to have my wrist looked at the doctor said it wasn't actually broken just a sprain that he would bandage it and advise I do not go hiking in the dark again.
When I got back to my hotel room I had a long shower and let the hot water sooth my aching skin. My thoughts running with the wolves, the way Tristan changed right in front of me when I had fallen the pure animalistic way of how he was, yet it was so sexually charged I had pity on any girl who dared go up against him, he was the type of man who had you withering beneath him before you were even naked, the type of man who knew a woman’s body and who savoured and explored every inch.
I found myself running my hands over my skin lightly imagining it was his hands, his finger tips that caressed my body and made me desire him elsewhere. But the knock at the door dragged me back from my fantasy and I turned off the tap stepping out of the tub and grabbing the house coat off the back of the door slipping it on my shoulders and tying it around my waist.
I wandered over to the door wondering who it possibly could be at this time, I glanced at the clock to see it was nearly four in morning.
I peeked out the peep hole to see a woman with brilliant bright red hair tied back in a pony tail and two men who looked to be impressive bodied, then I spied what she was holding, a gun!
She knocked again and I quickly went to my suit case and quietly pulled on some clothes, I went to my hiking bag and pulled out the knife I had received and put it in the pocket of my jeans I grabbed a flash light as well and some matches and my coat.
I opened the balcony doors as quiet as I could and slipped outside, the same time my room door was busted in and the two men started checking rooms, I threw my legs over the edge and looked below me, thanking god that I had some years on me with climbing, I let go of the railing and dropped down to the lower balcony, I slid the doors open and peeked inside it was empty, I bolted out of the room and down the hall to the stairs, they were faster than the elevator.
This night kept getting better and better!
I got outside and hailed a cab, I wasn't exactly sure where I was going but I paid the cab driver when we pulled up to a diner the sign flashing open all night come in and have a coffee I walked in and sat down trying to think of where I could go where I could ask for help and who I could call, I wouldn’t call my sister she was the type who would send the army looking for me and I wasn't sure if that would help in this case or make things worse?
I sipped a coffee until the sun was just starting to light the sky and then I left wandering back towards the forest, why? I'm not sure.
I could see the tree line and was just crossing the road when someone grabbed me.
