No one knows how the universe began.

Some speculate that the universe had always been around, but the Gods chose to leave it be. Others suppose that the Gods were the only true beings, until they began to create, giving life to the universe, creating the moons, planets, suns, and every other mass that floated out into infinity.

However, those kinds of things are not to be decided by mankind. Nor were they ever meant to be. However, though many speculate about how the Gods went about bringing life to the universe, there is one widely accepted fact among all of the World's races.

The Three King Gods, Dez, Zewer, and Juracall, formed a pantheon of powerful beings. These beings became known as The Creators. The Creators were the ones who gave life. With a simple touch, a Creator could give life to entire planets. The Gods placed these beings in charge of creating worlds, bringing life into the universe, and creating permanent peace and harmony. And for many millenniums, The Creators did so. They breathed life into many Worlds, giving the planets the strength to provide for the inhabitants.

This peace was not meant to last.

Sorth'Renal, the most powerful Creator, began to think highly of himself. He questioned the respect that the King Gods had for their workers. Sorth'Renal had created much, but had been given back nothing in return. Refusing to listen to the warnings of his peers, Sorth'Renal dove into studying the power of the Gods. Through his studies, he realized that his powers, and the powers of every other Creator, were only a fraction of the Gods' power. When every creator was made, the Gods took a fraction of each of their own powers, and poured them into the Creator. Sorth'Renal became obsessed with this fact, and took his studies to the Three Gods. He hoped to obtain their power, speaking out against them, and challenging their rule over The Creators.

The Gods, who were unable to understand why one of their own children would question their authority, took action against Sorth'Renal. They changed his appearance. The Creators were blessed creatures. They were strong and muscular. Their skin was made from thick, diamond-like substance. They shimmered with beautiful light, and gave off a blessed aura with each step they took.

However, Sorth'Renal was transformed into the opposite. He was transformed into a vile creature. His hard, glimmering skin turned into thick and hard flesh, colored red. Fangs grew from his mouth. A large tail that drug across the ground sprouted from his body. Fleshy, tentacle-like tendrils flew from his head. His eyes glowed with green fire. His two feet turned to hooves, horribly jagged spikes jutting from them. His back also began growing spikes, sticking out from his spine, and among other places on his back.

However, his appearance was not the last. The Gods made him unable to create the beautiful things he once had been able to. Anything that he created would be for the sole purpose of destruction. The Gods then removed him from the Pantheon, and placed him on a planet of his own. This planet, untouched by the Gods, burned with hellish fire. Volcanoes grew from the ground, spouting lava and ash, burning the land. Sorth'Renal attempted to create life, but only created more chaos. He slipped into deep depression. Eventually, his mind raced. He grew unstable, and went insane. He then began to practice his new, chaotic magics. He began to create horrendous, dark creatures, which he named Demons. Demons were not a single race. These creatures all bore different looks, each having its own distinct characteristics. Though, in time, each of these races would evolve into their own, they would always serve their masters.

Sorth'Renal, in his madness, created legions of these maniac, twisted creatures. Bent on avenging himself, he began to call this army "The Council of the Shattered". The Council marched upon the gates of pantheon, intent on slaying the Three Gods. Though the power of the Gods, as well as The Creators, was great, they were no match for Sorth'Renal and his legions of Demons. Sorth'Renal personally saw to it that each and every Creator was slaughtered, absorbing their powers and energies as he killed them. During the fierce battle, he became so powerful, not even the Three Gods, the creators of the universe, could defeat him. They were forced to flee in humiliation, eventually making home in the lesser-known parts of the universe, whilst the Council proceeded to make home in the Pantheon, renaming it "The Shattered Temple".

From that moment on, Sorth'Renal swore to hunt the Three Gods until he personally slew each of them. At the same time, the Gods swore to continue their mission to bring life to the universe, maybe in hopes that, someday, The Council would fall before the might of their creations...
