As the Trolls began to grow into a strong, united race, Remu'Kel worried excessively on how his forces would fare against the Trolls. Though the Demons were strong, they had been greatly weakened by the crushing blow of the Gods many years before. Their current forces were nothing compared to what they once were. Even so, Remu'Kel intended to keep his promise to his master, whatever he had to do.

Remu'Kel's first order of business was to construct a vast city, much like the Trolls. Choosing a territory very close to that of the Trolls, Remu'Kel constructed the city of Amash'Boron, a city born of and run by Demonic magic. Amash'Boron, which would serve as a throne to Remu'Kel, also became a training ground for newly created Demons.

Remu'Kel began speaking with the leaders of various Troll tribes. One such Troll was Yin'Jago, the leader of the Rena'Mal tribe. Remu'Kel told him that his people would not be able to prosper under their current circumstances, unless they expanded to the North. Yin'Jago gladly accepted and went by Remu'Kel's word, but Zam'Thas would have none of it. Expanding would only require more troops to deviate from the frontline on the war with the Demons, something he did not want. However, after much consideration, Zam'Thas gave Yin'Jago permission to move his clan northward, and study the lands. Yin'Jago gladly moved his people north.

In the Northern lands, which were rainy, foggy, and damp, immaculate, undisturbed forests grew, cultivating the lands in such a way, that the creatures living in the forest had begun to change form the way they were in the South. They were stronger than normal. Diseases and famine wouldn't affect them. They did not age, and didn't have to consume food and drink as much as their normal counterparts. This kind of behavior was to be called immortality by the Trolls. The Rena'Mal tribe began to study this type of power.

Soon enough, the Trolls came across the source of this incredible power: the Tree of Immortality. Finding this to be the source of the Magical aura that covered the forests, the Trolls began to build their new homes around the Tree. Their minds were heavily set on enhancing this power, and returning to their brethren in the South was a thought that had not crossed the minds of any of them.

The magical energies of the Tree soon began to warp the appearance of the Trolls. Their ears grew long. They became much more quick and slender. Their green and blue skin changed to a deep, deep gray and purple. They developed more muscle, and grew even taller than the Trolls. Their tusks disappeared completely. They became known as Forest Elves.

The Rena'Mal Elves began to train in the ways of the Druids, as they became in tune with nature. Many of the Elves even changed their Trollish names, to fit their now Elven appearance. They also began to hone skills the Trolls had not. They invented bows and arrows. They became increasingly skilled in hit-and-run attacks, along with strikes involving subtlety and stealth. However, one thing had truly changed these Trolls to Elves...

The Rena'Mal had begun to hate their former brethren. They had reported back to Ama'Krem multiple times, and told the stories of how their ties to nature were stronger than those of the Trolls, and how their strength had increased by a tenfold afterwards. However, the Trolls continued to refuse the offers of the Elves. This began to settle into the minds of the Rena'Mal, as they began to think that they were the superior race to the Trolls. They grew to think that the Trolls were weak, stupid creatures, clinging to their old ways. Not only that, but the Trolls outright rejected to use their technology of bows, with a few exceptions of some tribes, and continued to use Voodooist magics.

The Elves saw it fit to eliminate these non-believers.

Yin'Jago, who had become known as Sungor Starfury, began preparing his armies for a march upon the Troll capital. Though the Trolls had been much more settled than the Forest Elves for some time, the Elves were masters of greater, more powerful Druidic magics, as well as more technologically advanced. Not only that, but their affinities for nature were greater than that of the Trolls, who, in the eyes of the Rena'Mal, wasted the treasures the Gods had provided for them. Starfury then ordered the launch of several attacks on the Troll borders. To the surprise of the Rena'Mal, the Trolls had already placed considerable defenses on their Northern borders, apparently afraid of attacks from the Rena'Mal. However, despite their best efforts, the Northern section of the Troll kingdom was torn apart by the Elves.

Zam'Thas, seeing as though the Trolls could not keep war on two fronts, rallied the surviving villages and towns to the capital on the coast. Zam'Thas had made plans to set out on the sea, and travel to the South. It was their best bet, as the Northlands were unsafe, inhabited by vicious creatures that would, without more than a thought, tear the Trolls apart.

The armies of the Rena'Mal attacked the Northern Troll lands, while the Council attacked the Southern ones. On the night before the Trolls set sail, Zam'Thas' advisor, Cra'man, had been sent on a quick journey to the close South, in order to find survivors. However, he encountered Remu'Kel.

Remu'Kel, who knew of the Rena'Mal's betrayal, claimed that he had the solution to the Trolls' problem. Cra'man, eager to do anything it would take to save his people, willingly listened to the Demon. Remu'Kel, who claimed that he had the power to give the Trolls great strength, gave Cra'man an offer he could not refuse.

If Cra'man and the Trolls would fight in the name of Remu'Kel, he would give Cra'man a vile of his Demonic blood. If Cra'man drank the blood, he would become stronger, wiser, and superior to the Elves. His blood would also become similar to Remu'Kel's allowing him to share the power with his race. Cra'man accepted. However, Remu'Kel gave warning not to use the blood until the Trolls reached their new homeland. To give the Trolls a new homeland, Remu'Kel used his powers to conjure an island directly in the course of the Trolls' ship paths. This island was not blighted and corrupted, but a lush jungle with wildlife and plant growth (Remu'Kel had perfected his powers to the point that he could create land that was not destructive, though he did not have the power the Gods did). This was an offer Cra'man could not refuse. He thanked Remu'Kel, and hurried back to the capital. Remu'Kel warned him that though they were now serving him, he would still lead the siege upon the Troll capital the next day, as it was vital in defeating the Rena'Mal.

***

The next morning, Remu'Kel led the siege on the Troll kingdom. In addition, Starfury's forces marched upon Ama'Krem. Cra'man and Zam'Thas quickly evacuated their people, leaving their beautiful city defenseless. As the Trolls sailed away, they could see the two forces attack one another, destroying the city in the process. Cra'man made a path for the ships, leading them directly to the isle...

Around the same time of the first Rena'Mal expedition, the Orcs were growing into a strong race. Living in clans at the time, the Orcs had already perfected the Shamanistic magics they'd been blessed with. Their powers over the elements were unquestioned. Though they were not one union, the clans lived in relative peace, with little or no skirmishes occurring within the system of clans. Many traded with one another, and lived in great peace. In a similar manner, there were two clans, more powerful than any other Orcish clan on Tirath: the Black Rain clan, and the Blood Storm clan.

Both of these clans were ruled by powerful Orc shaman. The Black Rain clan was ruled by Org'Thalar, a Shaman of high council, while the Blood Storm clan was ruled by the younger, but nearly as powerful, Hormar Goldblood. These two Shaman, in attempts to unite their clans under similar rule, had their offspring wed one another. Org'Thalar, who had but one daughter, Deme, proposed the idea to Hormar, who gladly accepted. Hormar chose the youngest of his three sons, Grame, as Grame was not only closer to Deme in age, but stronger then both of his older siblings. Both were married very soon after their choosings, and very shortly before the Orcish civil war.

After the wedding between the two clans, multiple clans began to unite under the similar rule of the Orcs. A council of shaman was established in order to keep the peace within their own race, which, unfortunately for the Orcish rule, would not last long.

At the time of the demons' landing on Tirath, multiple shards from the dark meteorites had landed on the Eastern continent, primarily in the area of Tor'Skan, a dark, humid swampland. Tor'Skan, an area of land covered by trees, and filled with damp plants and various rivers, was the primary inhabitance of the Orcs for a very long time. Though the Orcs originally came from North, in the lands now known as the Red Hills, few clans had stayed after the decision to migrate south. The Orcs took this area to their liking, and made home there. Many of these Demonic shards were in the Western part of the area, which was inhabited by the Black Rain clan and its close followers.

During multiple archaeological expeditions, clans such as the Red Flame and the Bleeding Skull unearthed these shards, and brought them back to their Shaman leaders. Org'Thalar became increasingly interested in the shards, and demanded that they be studied for further use. However, Hormar, along with his clan and following clans such as the Earth Shakers and the Lightning Eye, claimed that the shards were extremely dangerous, and needed to be disposed of. However, Org'Thalar would have none of it.

These shards, under further examination, were found to be tainted with Warlock magics. Harnessing the shards and unveiling their powers, Org'Thalar realized the great strength these shards contained. The magics that came from these shards were dark, fiery magics. Unlike Shamanistic magics, which were pulled from the various elements of the Earth, these were pulled from a much more powerful entity, though Org'Thalar could not perceive what it was.

Ordering his clan and the ones under it to abandon their Shamanistic practices and study this new magic, Org'Thalar continued his efforts to introduce the magic to the Blood Storms. However, Hormar found the magics to be incomprehensibly destructive, and absolutely refused to be a part of Org'Thalar's campaign. Having lived under their rule so long, Deme, Org'Thalar's daughter, who had lived with the Blood Storm clan for some time, denounced her father's actions. This was the final straw, which drove Org'Thalar to insanity.

War soon broke out between the two clans. Soon, clans that served under both chose their sides, and began battling one another. Hormar, in an attempt to save his son and his spouse, sent Grame and Deme away, along with a number of followers who remained neutral in the conflict, to the Southeast, into the desert of Zorgral.

The war in Tor'Skan would go on for 400 years, until the true champion of the Orcs would end it...
