Chapter 5: Kingdom of Relic
I had gotten used to the falling. And my screaming, I could finally stop. I dropped into the bailey again, I stood quickly and raced to the large doors that stood, we had gone through the last time. I made my way up the stairs and to the large bed chamber that was called mine. Changing out of my modern clothes, I slipped on a white gown, with a brown belt hanging loosely around my slim waist. My hair was getting curly and I touched my emerging cheekbones and shuttered. I didn't look at all like myself from the modern day. I was more defined here for some reason. Dipping my toes into a pair of white slippers, I flew out of the room right into father.
"Emma? How'd you get here?" He was dressed in modern clothes just like I had been.
"Father? How'd you get here?" I asked surprised.
"But - you -"
"So you knew about this the whole time I presume?" I raised my eyebrow and crossed my arms.
"We thought it'd be better if you were older to find out." I narrowed my eyes and looked down the hall.
"I wish you told me. But I still have a lot more answers to ask."
"The hell! I'm sure you do! This is not something your mother and I took lightly either!"
"Mother knew too?! How could you both do this to me?" I could feel my voice raising too high, I calmed myself with a deep breath.
"Yes, but same thing..."
"Was I born here?" My eyes widened.
"Yes. Emma Eltom Relic was born here. Which is you." He said tiredly.
"Then how did we in the modern world?"
"The magic here is unstable. It randomly brings you back then here again whenever it feels like it. We don't know if it's an enchantment or not, but it's hard to remain here all the time."
"Is there a way? To stay in the modern world?"
"That's what me and your mother have been trying to figure out."
"Maybe if you told me when I was younger, I could have helped!" I stamped my foot.
"No, I'm surprised you made it here."
"I wanted to come here. For answers." sighing I looked at father. "Atleast I got them."
"As for you, in the great hall is your mother, you need finish up with these suitors." I stared at him like he was crazy. "I need someone to take my place one day."
"I will meet them. But not marry them!" I stormed off to the great hall to find my mother easing the men back into their seats, as soon as I walked in, I could feel all their stares. I walked to the throne in the middle and avoided my mother's stare. Once seated I said evenly;
"Please, begin."
After hours of men kissing my hand and telling me their names, I was sick. I excused myself, and found the nearest bathroom. I didn't know how I could stand this, and to marry one of them! Sickening, each one flicked their hair. Flashed their smile. Showed their muscle, trying to impress me. While they end up boring me half to death.
"Emma! How the heavens did you get here?" Mother had found me, I was in for an ear full.
"Mama, I can-" The darkness filled my vision and my legs lifted into the dark space and I shut my eyes, waiting for it to throw me back to reality.
