DAMIEN'S POINT OF VIEW

When one is bound to the other by their fulfillment of love they are called MATES. That was the word that I couldn't stop thinking about. I knew it was bound to come, it was only a matter of time. I never suspected it to come so fast.

Mates…..that is what Serenity and I are now to the underground creatures that I am and live among. It's nearly impossible to undo the bindings of our souls. But, its been impossible to stay away from her. I've tried to leave her once and she has somehow made her way back to me. I think this is how it's supposed to be. I have to protect her and she somehow can control my heart as if it was her own. I've tried denying her plenty of times but I just can't. Last night I thought I turned her down…but then it just happened. She seemed so hurt and It was to hard to look away. After that we were bound. But, how was I going to explains this to her?

Serenity had came back into our room once I had woken up. I rested up slightly in the bed as she closed the door. I sent her a smile when she quickly walked over to the bed. I pulled her into my arms.

"I see you've been up for a while." I told her and placed her on my lap. She kissed my cheek softly while tapping on my bare chest.

"Yeah…..Markus was just explaining some things to me." She said which made me a little curious.

"About what?"

"Well, He talked about you and…..my MATE." She said. I felt shockwaves enter my body. I probably looked like a statue to her.

"No worries Damien, You're my mate!" she giggled and kissed my lips which still didn't move. She was now worried once she pulled away

"Are you not happy with this??" She asked sadly. I saw her shoulders sulk down lowly.

I quickly pulled her close and finally snapped out of my shock mode.

"Of coarse I'm happy Serenity Love. I was just shocked that you found out!" I told her quickly and started to kiss her cheeks and then her forehead. She let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank god…Damien will we be okay?" She asked.

"Yes being Mates will only make this better for us." I told her and she smiled while looking into my eyes. Hers were so bright and teal colored. Her dark hair was falling long past her shoulder, some falling over her forehead. We kissed once more before I finally got out of bed.

"You should get some sleep." I told her and she actually agreed. That was a shock to me because she always goes against whatever I saw nearly all the time.

"Yeah, your right. Tonight is a big night." She said and pulled all of the covers over her body.

"Sleep well." I told her as she let out a comfy sigh.

"See you soon." She mumbled and closed her eyes. After that I got dressed and headed down stairs so she could have her peace and quiet.

I saw in the Library room which had shelves of books stacking up all the way to the high ceilings. There were some antique furniture in the middle of the room with a large fire lit chandelier above where I sat. A wooden carved fireplace was on the far end of the large book filled room. I saw of a deep green chair and gazed out the windows, only to see vast mountains and deep forests. I was now at the crack of dawn but with thick heavy clouds covered the daylight sky with a light my skin can handle.

"Damien, my friend I see you have awakened from your slumber. I hope you are finding my castle suitable for you." I heard Markus's voice echo in the library. I looked away from the windows so I could look at him. He was already standing next to me with one of his hands resting on small, round, wooden table next to me with a vase full of red roses in the center of it.

"Yes, I am actually. I feel as if this were my second home." I said and smiled. He did the same, proudly. He loves his castle more than anything. He's lived here all his life and took great care of it. He has never had a mate or any family left though, which is why he probably loves this castle so much. Most of his family has been killed in early 1500 decade.

"I am glad to here to say those words. Say, what do you say we go on a hunt into the southern cities of my country?" He ask now sounding even more upbeat.

I leaned back into my chair. I was feeling….hungry and a little weak. I haven't been feeding as often as I should have. I answered him truthfully.

"I don't think I can with Serenity being my mate. She's human…I feel as if me hunting them isn't right. I'll look into her eyes and feel guilt. This must sound ridiculous Markus coming from a Vampire Lord." I said now with a little frustration towards what I was feeling.

But, Markus just chuckled. After that he let out a pleasant sigh and gazed out the windows.

"I understand completely. Well then, how about a little hunt in the forest. We may catch something wild?" He asked.

This time it was my turn to laugh.

"Alright, count me in." I told him and stood up from the chair.

"Shall we bring Aubrey as well?" He asked. I thought about it for a few moments but then I nodded. She has the same royal bloodline as me and she should do fine in the morning.

"Yes, she will enjoy herself for sure. It's good to have her get out a little bit or else she tends to lose her temper." I said and he laughed a little.

"Yeah I figured that out when I came to your Mansion that one night" He chuckled as we went to get her in the dining room.

Once we were there we saw her filing her nails in a chair with her legs up on the table. She was whistling softly to herself one we entered the room.

"Hey Sis, feel like going on a wild hunt with us?" I asked. She quickly looked up at me with a grin on her face.

"Hell yeah! I'm in!" She snapped and left the chair quicker then I could see.

Before we both left I had to give orders. Maven and Reeve were going to start and secure the land around the castle with the other guards. I gave Zack and Aiden orders to look after Serenity and keep her company while we were all away. She will probably sleep the whole day so she won't even notice that I left.

SERENITY'S POINT OF VIEW

I woke up in a cold sweat. I had that dream again. The vampire with the red eyes was chasing me. He wanted me so bad but for what reason? Every time I felt the same scared emotions.

Once I woke up I wiped my forehead with my hand and took in deep breaths. Once I did this I noticed something very bad.

My arms had more markings!!

They weren't small either. There was a new marking on both of my hands that went up to my elbows. On my left arm was a black marking that looked like a big lightning bolt. On my right was a large diamond with a straight line coming out one of the points.

I quickly shoved the covers away from my body only to see more markings on my legs!!

"This is so not good!" I snapped at myself as I examined my legs. Each of my legs had the same symbol, but only opposite from my ankles and up to my knees. They looked like a curvy line but with straight edges, like a digital five doubling itself in a line.

They seem fresh. Maybe if I take a shower the marks will come off. I quickly ran out of the room and into a bathroom. There was no shower but only a fancy marble tub. I really didn't feel like taking a bath but I guess I had to. This bathroom was probably the most modern thing in the house. There was actually running water! I let the water flow into the tub while I undressed in a hurry. I was really starting to get annoyed of these damn marks! They looked kind of cool after I got used to them but I didn't want them to go all over my body.

Once the tub was full I practically fell in and let my body soak.

About a half hour later I was all squeaky clean but to my disappointment the new markings didn't go away.

Damien was not going to like this at all.

I got dressed in a hurry and sprinted down all the steps and to the first floor. I started to call for Damien or Marcus but nobody was answering to my voice. The servants were all getting ready for the party while I ran past them feeling stupid. I finally turned the corner when I bumped into Zack.

"Whoa, slow down there speedy, what's up?" He chuckled while he tugged on my shirt and pulled me back to him.

"We have a problem!" I snapped once he let me go.

"What? Why, what's wrong?" He asked, now sounding more serious and worried. I pulled up my sleeve to my shirt and revealed my marks to him.

"More company has arrived and joined my little tattoo party." I said and tried to sugar code my words.

Zack reached for my arms and gazed at the symbols.

"You're right, this is a problem. Alright just stay calm. We will figure it all out once Damien, Aubrey, And Lord Markus get back." He said while taking deep breaths to calm his panic mode.

"Where did they go?" I asked curiously. Damien never told me he was leaving the castle.

"They went on a wild hunt around the forests. They need a lot of energy if they are going to survive a night filled room with all the Vampire Lords around the world. They should be back soon though." He told me and I nodded.

Once Zack and I were at least some what relaxed Aiden had joined us in the open room.

"What are you two meatheads doing?" He laughed as if he was such a joker.

"I'm showing my new markings to Zack, fire head." I told him and showed him the marks. He bit his lower lip while examining my arms.

"That ain't good. What are we going to do now?" He asked and I pulled my sleeves back down.

"We are not going to do anything. We are just going to play it cool so Damien won't get even more stressed out." I said calmly while they both looked at me.

"He's going to find out, Serenity." Zack said, which I knew he was right.

"Then we will just have to lay it easy on him when he gets back." I said and they agreed.

It was quiet between the three of us now. We both glanced at each other a couple of times. I was trying to think of something to say but I couldn't. What was I going to do now that Aubrey and Damien were gone, play tea part with Zack and Aiden? HAH! Yeah right.

"Well then," Aiden said and broke the silence. " why don't all three of us play a game." He suggested.

"O yeah, like what?" Zack snorted.

There wasn't a lot of FUN GAMES to play in this old fashioned vampire castle. I thought about it for a few moments.

"I've got an idea!" I said once something popped up into my head.

"….I hope this doesn't involve pickles." Zack muttered.

"OR strippers like you Serenity." Aiden added and they both agreed. I sent them both an evil and annoyed stare before speaking.

"No you airheads, we should play charades!" I said. They both cocked an eyebrow and stared at me as if I were on crack.

"Is this a human game?" Zack asked and I nodded. I used to play it all the time at the orphanage.

"Explain it." Aiden demanded so I did. I talked about how someone has to draw a piece of paper out from a bowl and it will have something that they will need to act out. Whoever guesses that act out right they get a point and then its that person's turn to do the acting. O and I of coarse explained how the actor cant speak at all. Zack didn't look to thrilled but Aiden wanted to get into it.

We filled out a punch of ideas on little pieces of paper. I told them not to do anything stupid or fowl but I didn't think they were listening to me. Once we were done we got a glass bowl and put all the little paper pieces inside of it. Zack was the one who had to act out first.

We went into the library room where their was a warm fireplace, chairs and some easy room to move around. Both Aiden and I sat on chairs next to each other while Zack stood in front of us.

Zack drew out of the bowl and sighed.

"This is ridiculous and I can't believe I am doing this." He muttered while rolling his brown eyes.

"Just do it!" I snapped and Aiden agreed.

"Yeah lighten up."

He let out another sigh and the put his hand out in front of him. He started to walk slowly in a circle with his arms still out in front of him as if he was pushing something.

"O, I got this, I got this!!" Aiden started to yell while his eyes widened while he tried to think of that action.

He started blurting out random words like, Turkey which didn’t even make sense at all.

"Mowing the lawn!" I said and Zack nodded.

"What the hell kind of action is that!!?" Aiden snapped with disgust.

"You're just mad because you LOST! HA HA!" I mocked and him and stood up so Zack could take my seat.

I quickly picked out an action from the bowl randomly. My action was completely ridiculous and I knew that one of them wrote down the idea while we were making up actions to put into the bowl. But, I was going to do it anyways.

At first I started to walk around like any woman would and then I started to squat a little and have a painful look of my face. After that I cradled the air as if a baby was in my arms.

"AHAH! You're a stripper who has to fart!" Aiden yelled at me with a big grin of his face.

"No, she's just gave birth to a giant pickle child!" Zack snapped and then they both started to laugh.

I quickly dropped my whole pose and glared at them.

"One of these days, I'll get you annoying monsters!" I snapped and clenched my fists.

Both of them were laughing hysterically while I stomped over to take a seat.

"You're both wrong!" I growled while Aiden sat up from his seat. Technically Zack was a little right. My note said GIVING BIRTH but I was to angry to let him go again.

"My turn!" Aiden yelled happily and picked from the bowl. I took his seat next to Zack, which I still sent him a glare. He just gave me a wink.

Aiden started chuckling as he read his little piece of paper. After that he started to pull out weird vampire moves. He then pretended like there was some person on the ground and started beating the air. I had no idea what the hell we was going and he looked so stupid.

"You're a vampire who's beating up a drunken werewolf!!" Zack laughed.

"You got it!" Aiden told him and they both started to laugh with each other. I found this whole act stupid.

"I told you no weird Vampire stuff!" I snapped at them but they just ignored me. Aiden had dropped to the floor laughing.

"That's it! We're playing a new game!" I snapped and stood up.

"O, and what's that princess??" Aiden laughed while he and Zack roared together. I gazed at them with evil eyes and tightened my mouth.

"We're playing attack the dumb ass vampires!!" I yelled and jumped on top of both of them.

I started to pull on Aiden's long, red pony tail while yanking Zack's spiky hair.

"No hair pulling!" Zack laughed and hurled me lightly over his back as if I were a feather. I landed on top of Aiden's stomach. I kicked Zack's shin while trying to give Aiden a wet finger into his ear to irritate him.

We were all wrestling so hard that none of us heard anyone enter the library.

"What kind of game is this?" I heard Damien's voice echo from behind me. All three of us stopped dead in place. I was still on top of Aiden, with my finger almost to his ear. Zack was holding my ankle. I was sure he was about to pry me away from Aiden.

Markus and Aubrey were next to Damien. Aubrey was smiling while Markus looked confused and Damien amused.

"It's the kill the two brainless vampires game." I said and then flicked Aiden in the head.

"I want in!" Aubrey laughed.

"I could take you." Zack told her and stood up straight, letting go of my ankle.

"Bring it on!" She challenged and formed a cat like pose.

"Alright, I think we've all had enough games today." Damien said and pulled onto Aubrey's black belt that she was wearing right before she could strike for Zack. I quickly shoved my finger into Aiden's ear before getting up.

"Ugh, now that's just gross." Aiden said while we both stood up.

"Yeah, just like your face." I couldn't help but say. He just stuck out his tongue and mocked my words while I went over to give Damien a hug.

"Did you have a good hunt?" I asked once he took me into his arms.

"Yes, I should be good for a while." He said. I thought I would try and bring up my tattoo subject.

"Yeah, I should be good too." I said and he chuckled lightly while my head rested on his chest.

"What does that mean?"

"Well…..lets just say another delivery came today to the Serenity tattoo town." I told him, once again trying to sugar code my words. But Damien knew exactly what I was talking about, of coarse.

"You have more markings?! Where?" He asked and pulled me away from him slightly so he could examine my body. The room had fallen silent, except for Aubrey gasping.

I showed him the new , bigger marks on my arms and along my lower legs. He ran his pale fingers down them and then gazed a Markus. He too was looking at the markings very closely.

"Markus, maybe you can help figure out what they mean." Damien told him. Markus gave him an automatic nod. He then went to one of the shelves in the room. I watched as Damien looked at my arms with worry and then up at my eyes.

Markus soon returned with a large dark green book that was covered in dust. Meanwhile, everyone else had crowded around us to see.

"These symbols look familiar." Markus started to say and then opened the book. He turned the pages a few more times and then pointed to a paragraph. After a few moments he shut the book faster than I could even read a sentence out of it.

"This symbol here that looks like lightning represents Dangerous Energy, But it can also mean war." He said and I gulped for some reason. I did not like this one at all.

"War over Serenity, it makes perfect sense." Zack said while he stood next to Markus.

Damien growled a little bit. I knew he must be feeling angry right now. I tried to look reassuring but I'm not sure it helped.

"What about the other mark on her right arm?" Aubrey asked.

"The diamond symbol overall is saying, BE PREPARED TO DEFEND YOURSELF, at least that's what the book said."

Once again I gulped another time.

"These must be signs of what might happen. They are showing steps towards the final completion." Markus said and this time Damien pulled me back into his arms.

"What are about your legs. What does that mean?" I heard Aiden ask and we all looked over at Markus. He seemed to be filling in for Elijah at this point in time.

"it's a sign in Chinese that’s symbolism for authority, divine power and the ability to judge what's right from wrong. The book says it's a symbol for justice." He told us which, this time I didn't gulp. That one didn't sound so bad but I had a hard time believing that I could ever represent justice.

So now I had even more markings to add to the pack and Damien was worried as hell. I could see it in his golden eyes. But, we would find a way to handle it. We had to. If anyone found out….everything could be totally destroyed and I could lose everyone that I love.
