Chapter 18
Should I really let Codey stay here, I really don’t know. I walked upstairs and went by Edward.
“Edward, Codey wants to know if he can live with us.” I said.
“What, are you insane?” Edward asked.
“I will take that as a yes.” I said.
“Honey what if something goes bad, what do we do then” Edward asked.
“He wants us to help him.” I said.
“What about us spending time together.” Edward said.
“We will still spend time together. It is not like I am going to marry Codey.” I said.
“Still I want you, me, and Makenna together not Codey, plus he tried to kill you.”
Edward said.
“I know baby, but I want to give Codey a second chance at life. Plus I will be giving Codey rules about the house and us. Everything is going to be fine.” I said.
“If one thing goes bad he is out of here.” Edward said.
“Thank you baby.” I said as I went by Edward.
I gave Edward a big kiss and started cuddling with him.
“I love you.” Edward said.
“I love you even more.” I said.
“I love you more.” Edward said.
“No I love you more.” I said.
We both were laughing. I gave Edward another kiss. Edward started kissing me back and it felt like he didn’t want to stop. We were like this for awhile and then I started hugging him.
“Can we go to sleep now?” I asked.
“Yea.” Edward said.
So we fell asleep. When I woke up I was served breakfast in bed, which was unusually.
“What is going on?” I asked.
“Well since Codey is going to be living with us I thought I would serve you in bed.” Edward said.
“Oh.” I said.
Edward handed me the tray and I started eating.
“Thanks babe. It was good.” I said.
“Thanks.” Edward said.
I got out of bed and started getting dress. I heard Edward whistling behind me.
“What?” I asked.
“Oh nothing. It is just that you are so hot.” Edward said.
“Thanks.” I said.
I finished getting dressed. I walked downstairs and out the door. I found Codey sitting on the porch.
“Hey Codey.” I said.
“Hi Layla.” Codey said.
“You can live with us but you have rules to follow.” I said.
“Ok that’s great.” Codey said.
“You don’t sound happy.” I said.
“I know, it is just I was thinking about the kills I have killed for no reasons.” Codey said.
“Everything will be fine. We will help you get over it. Don’t worry about it ok.” I said.
“Ok.” Codey said.
“You do have a reason for killing all those girls.” I whispered
“I do?” Codey asked.
“Yes me.” I said
“Really?” Codey asked.
“Yes baby.” I said.
“Cool.” Codey said.
“Lets go inside.” I said.
“Where will I be sleeping?” Codey asked.
“You will be sleeping in the quest room which will be your room.” I said.
“Ok, could we go shopping?” Codey asked.
“I will go ask Edward and John if they will take you.” I said.
We walked into the house and Edward came by me and swept me off my feet again.
“Hey babe.” Edward said.
“Hey, will you and John take Codey shopping?” I asked.
“Sure I have to go anyways.” John said.
“Ok.” Edward said.
“Thanks guys.” Codey said.
“Well, see you guys later.” I said.
“Yea.” Edward said.
Edward gave me a kiss before he left.
“So sis what are we doing now?” Aspen asked.
“I don’t know, whatever I guess.” I said.
“Ok I guess I will work in the garden.” Aspen said
“Ok I will just clean the house.” I said.
I started cleaning the house. I was actually surprised that the house
was clean; I didn’t know Edward would keep the house clean. Aspen was
out harvesting the garden for the winter; which was good because then we
wouldn’t have to run to town. I went into Codey’s room to make sure
it was clean. I was shocked that it was. I walked out of the room.
“Mother, what were you doing in Codey’s room?” Makenna asked.
“I was cleaning it like you should be cleaning yours.” I said.
“Whatever.” Makenna said.
I just walked off and went to my room. I made our bed and put our
clothes away.
“Hey Layla, can I come in?” Aspen asked
“Yea, what’s up?” I asked.
“I wanted to talk to you.” Aspen said.
“Sure, what about?” I asked her.
“I want to talk to you about Codey.” Aspen said.
“What about him.” I said as I got nervous.
“Why did you let him live here?” Aspen asked.
“I wanted to give him another chance at life. Plus he wanted me to
help him get over the killing spree thing.” I told her.
“Oh, do you think we will be able to help him?” Aspen asked.
“I hope so because I feel bad about killing him if it doesn’t work
out.” I tried to explain.
“We will try our best, but if it doesn’t work out we are going to
kill him.”Aspen said.
“I understand but Codey loves me. So that’s why I am worried.” I
said.
“We will try to protect you the best we can.” Aspen said.
“Ok.” I said.
“I got everything canned up for the winter.” Aspen said.
“Ok thanks, do whatever you want to do.” I told her.
“Ok.” Aspen said.
“Hey we’re back.” Edward yelled.
“Ok.” I yelled back.
“Well lets go see what the boys got.” Aspen said.
“Right.” I told her.
Aspen and I went downstairs to see what the boys got. When Edward seen
me; he grabbed me and gave me a kiss.
“Hey baby.” Edward said.
“Hi.” I said.
“Hey babe, could you show me my room.” Codey asked.
“Yea, follow me.” I said.
Edward gave me a glare and let me go. Codey then started following me
with our hands holding each other.
“Just come back down when you get done. We might be down at the
beach.” I told Codey.
“Ok thanks again.” Codey said.
“No problem, talk to you later.” I said.
“Yea.” Codey said.
I walked back downstairs. To meet Edward’s glare.
“Who wants to go swimming?” John asked.
“We all do.” I said.
“Ok lets go.” Edward said.
We all started walking out to the beach. Edward ended up picking me up
again.
“Hey.” I said.
“What?” Edward asked.
“Put me down.” I said.
“Who wants to play volleyball?” Codey asked as he came running up to
me.
“I will be referee.” Aspen said.
“Ok.” I said.
We ended up playing a good game of volleyball. I was on Codey’s side
and John and Edward were on a side. We don’t know what happen to
Reed. We haven’t heard from him in about 2 months now.
“Hey Aspen, do you know what happen to Reed?” Codey asked.
“He told me he had to see his wife.” Aspen said.
“I didn’t know that he was married.” John said.
“I don’t think he is.” I said.
“I am thinking he used that excuse so he could get away from us.”
Codey said.
“I think you are right about that Codey.” John said.
“Who knows, lets get back to the game.” I said.
“Ok, what’s the score Aspen.” John asked.
“I don’t think you guys want to know.” Aspen said.
“Tell us.” I said.
“10 to nothing.” Aspen said.
“Go us.” Codey said.
“Time to switch teams.” I said.
“Ok.” Edward said.
“I will go with Layla.” John said.
“Ok.” Edward said.
We had a tied game.
“Good game.” Codey said.
Codey came over by me and gave me a big hug.
“What are we having for supper?” I asked.
“Hamburgers.” Aspen said.
“Ok, Codey you’re it.” I said.
Edward, John and I took off running. Codey manages to pick me up.
“You’re it.” Codey said.
“Ok.” I said.
Codey put me down and took off. I ended up tagging John. We were all having fun. When nightfall came Edward and I slept outside. We were just staring at the stars. We had a great day.
