I woke up panicked. You know when you have a bad dream and you wake up breathing hard and sitting up straight? Yeah that is what I did. I looked around for anything that would show me where I was. All around me there was white like snow and I was warm. I stretched my mind out to find Trianna and to my amazement my little dragon had curled around me.
So that wasn’t a dream. Then I started thinking if my wishing for Trianna to big enough to ride then the other thing happened too. My head rolled with the memory of the pain that had engulfed it mere hours ago.
“Tri, where is Sunfire?” She shuffled her head then turning her large white eyes on me like she was x-raying my entire being.
“Someone did this to you and you want to know where the horse went? Ember we have been gone officially a day and you just wake up! You know how worried we have been?”
“We? Who’s we? How long have I been asleep?”
“No apologies?”
“I’m sorry Trianna I truly am. Please tell me the answers to my questions.”
“Kyah came looking for us. She became worried and when she found us she wasn’t at all happy. Raine followed her as well. So we have all been taking shifts on keeping an eye on you.”
“Oh. Well where are they? I don’t hear any voices.”
“They already went back to the castle to get supplies for a few days should you not wake up. They took Sunfire for extra food and water. Ember what happened? I didn’t hear anything until I nearly fell from the sky with that pain. Horrible. I didn’t find you until you fell asleep and I magically appeared.”
I relayed my memories to Trianna. I sat back on Trianna’s thigh that is just the size of me. I sighed. I had no idea who did it. Just when I thought everything that could happen stopped happening and we might have some good news. No the world decides to throw some more rocks.
“It has to be someone from Darkness.” Trianna said.
“I thought it might have been Shade.” The wind began to flow. Dark clouds invaded the sky. “But I honestly don’t know who.”
“I would fly us to the castle though in the wind up there it is too risky. Especially with you just waking up after a day and no food in your stomach. “
“It’s ok. I don’t feel like going back right now anyway and what if Raine and Kyah try to come in this storm I would feel bad.” I looked at the sky. “Now that you mention it I am hungry.”
“Well you are just going to have to wait.”
“Yeah I know.” I leaned my head back and closed my eyes. Trianna curled around like a cat. Her massive wing spread over her head and my body like a tent. “Nap time?”
“Nap time.” She closed her eyes. “See you tomorrow when you wake up again.”
“See you then Tri.” I giggled. Closing my eyes I took a deep breath. The rain started then. Tip tap. Tip tap. The sound echoed over Trianna’s wing. Slipping into a fit full sleep, after the truthful thought; Kyah is so going to yell at me for running off now.
