I woke up with the sun just like I always had. I felt the scabs pull and crack as I gasped. My body was damp and no one was in my room. The sun shone through the windows, brighter than it had ever done before.
I laid there trying to gather my strength, my strength was dwindling. After a few decades passed and I heard voices, all in serious tones.
"There are only three days and she-"
"Is going to need our help. He spread poison all threw her."
"We all know that poison, that poison……"
"We know! We just need to figure out her antidote. We all know the stories."
"Those are legends! Fairy tales to give some hope to little kids."
"We’re not little kids. We’re the Masters; we all know those stories were real. Legends our past Masters overcame. The Eposa poison has one antidote. That person’s source of power."
"How do we know what that is? She hasn’t stayed awake more than five minutes since she landed."
After that I had to make my presence known. "Guys, I’m awake." My voice shook like leaves in the winds of autumn. After a few million gasps they rushed in, well everyone except Isis.
"Glad you’re awake." Raine said.
"Yeah, Ember that was cutting it close." Shade said. "You’re tough. It would have drained the life out of so many by now."
"Ok, that’s enough. Ember this is serious where is your power source?" Kyah asked.
"Like she’s going to know." Isis said.
"She has to know." Kyah said. "A volcano, a hot spring, the meadow?"
"I don’t know, Kyah." I whispered.
"See told you." Isis scoffed.
"Galahad might tell be able to tell you." Saphire said. "He was with her until she got to the castle."
"I forgot about that!" Kyah exclaimed. "Raine stay with Ember, we’ll go talk to Galahad. Maybe he’ll be able to help us out." She looked at me. "Stay strong, okay? Don’t let go."
They left, Raine sat down and I drifted off. Night reclaimed my mind, as I was swallowed by sleep.
