I woke up in the middle of the night. I felt strong and sure even though I woke up with the masters surrounded me all asleep. I went to get sit up but my mind had played a trick on me, I didn’t have the strength to lift a finger. Images swirled around my head, pictures of volcanoes and lava. I didn’t see the importance of the images. They looked familiar like I needed to be there where ever there was.
What is wrong with me?
I wondered. I could feel that I was drenched. Though I couldn’t tell if it was my sweat or not. I could see that Kyah was close; I slid my way to her hand. Inch by inch I slowly made my way. When I did reach her she hummed and yawned. With a quick stretch she realized it I was me who woke her.
"Ember?"
"What is wrong?" I managed.
"Poison. It’s draining your life energy. It’s still a miracle that you’re alive. Do you know where your life force is? Ember without it you will die in a day or two." She looked worried and scared. "Anything? Maybe you dreamt it or the Goddess told you?"
"Volcano?" I whispered.
"It’s a volcano? Which one?" she asked. I felt myself grow tired once more. "No don’t go back to sleep," She said forcefully. "There are nine volcanoes. Too many, you have to know! Ember-"
"I might know which one." Someone said, her voice sounded like a bubbling brook. Her hair looked like the night and her eyes like stars. Her gown looked like the Aurora Borealis melted to her body.
"The Water Goddess." Kyah bowed.
"Yes my dear. I believe the source you are looking for is the Briar Rose."
"That is the sacred Fire Goddess Monument."
"It will also transfer the role. Though for it to work correctly the Masters guardian will enter with her. Then the volcano will see if she the next Fire Goddess." She looked at me. "Should you be her, then I hope your reign will be as plentiful as the ones before you. Good luck." With a tiny shimmer of light that crossed the room and entered me, I once again felt energized and normal again.
I looked at Kyah, "Come on."
We woke up everyone and swiftly took to the skies. The volcano would soon be in our eye sight, until then I was will Trianna. The Water Goddess’ magic soon wore off which left me venerable to fall off Trianna. I held on as best I could, we don’t have time to land.
