As the sun broke the night’s realm I finished backing my bags. Kyah was accompanying me on my journey. We are to meet a boat in a month. The way seemed easy to get through, but that was just a map. The castle floats on the lines of Spirit Sanctuary and Agua Kingdom. To get to the boat at the base of Summer Lily Volcano in Sol Kingdom, not a lot of thinking on where we need to go. Kyah was clearly not happy that she was coming with me but since I am not experienced she was to make sure I wouldn’t die.
Taking one last look on my little white room I headed to the main passage to meet with Kyah. The walk wasn’t too long but I saw many people who wanted to talk or battle with me. I told them I was off on a journey to Dragon Isle and they simply said good bye.
I pulled on my backpack as I met the Head Master and Kyah along with Galahad at the front doors. Kyah still looked pretty mad about going but Head Masters orders. The sun shone bright in the doors nearly blinded me in tell I realized I was doing the same thing as the sun. I fought for control and normalness and it dimmed and faded.
“Aw, great job,” Kyah said. “Now I can’t see straight.”
“Kyah, she has more power then you and is touched by your Goddess. She cannot control her power yet give her time. She saw what was happening and stopped herself before reaching high temperatures. Great job Ember!” The Head Master said.
“So you mean we are going on this journey for her to the most deadly islands and she hasn’t had any training?!” Kyah asked.
“Kyah we couldn’t train her before the tests. That’s against the rules and she still out did everyone.”
Her face only got darker and darker, “Yes I know that. She’s my master now isn’t she?”
“Kyah. You are the most skilled of the Fires you need to make sure your Master isn’t killed. Then who will rightfully guild the Fires?” Galahad said. She called down, a little bit.
“Fine, but I don’t like this baby sitting deal.” She said.
“Ember since we are miles in the sky Galahad will carry you the ground. Celsia isn’t strong enough to carry three so he has a solution.”
Galahad extended both of his arms out the door and brought them back in while taking a step backward he continued to do this in tell a large cloud came to the door way. Smiling to himself he walked over to the cloud and climbed aboard.
Kyah and I walked over to it and climbed on aboard just as Galahad had. We didn’t sink threw the middle was mad of ice and it still floated in the air. “This is so cool!”
“May the Sun shine bright on your backs and the Wind blow you in the right way. Let the Moon glow over your paths and the Earth stay firm under your feet.” The Head Master said as Galahad sent us closer to the ground.
Once we reached the ground Galahad seemed really tired. He called for Celsia and before he made for the sky he said the same as the Head Master. “May the Sun shine bright on your backs and the Wind blow you in the right way. Let the Moon glow over your paths and the Earth stay firm under your feet.” And he took to the sky.
“What does that mean?” I asked Kyah.
“It’s a proper farewell, a blessing for people who are going on important journeys.”
“Oh,” Was the only thing I could think of to say.
As we walk south we enter Spirit Sanctuary, when we met Flaming Lake we go south east. Then we’ll eventually see Summer Lily Volcano. But from the sound of it will take a very long time.
“Kyah, how come you don’t like me yet you don’t want me killed?”
She looked at me with a devil eye then saw I was serious sighed and simply said, “You’re not common. For the other elements there usually many masters ready to take their job. The first one who arrived at the school will become Master. The Fire’s don’t have it like that. The last Fire Master lived three centuries ago. We have been keeping peace with spokespeople like Spirit does. But they could have a master. If someone were to kill you there may not be another Fire Master we need new guidance.”
“So why do you hate me?”
“Because you have pure Amber gold running through your veins right now. Molten gold of the Goddess lives in you. She gave you two gifts, and you have the rawest power I have ever seen.”
“Amber gold? That’s the gold of the Fire Goddess! ---- How do you know what’s in my blood?”
“Only a Fire can feel the Fire Goddess’ things. You’ve had it in you since you were born. On your world you’re slightly warmer no matter can brave the winter and not get ill. Here you are really warm to touch you can mimic the sun or become it. You can melt snow easy and burn people if you get to mad.”
“What are you going to tell me next I’m going to become the Goddess?”
Her facial expression didn’t change. She looked annoyed with a slight smirk. “No. No. No. I don’t believe you.”
“Whatever. Let’s keep moving.”
And for the rest of the day we didn’t talk. We barely made ten miles. We still have a long way to go and so far it’s going to be in silence.
There is no way I am going to become a Goddess. I still don’t believe I am the Fire Master. But like Galahad said I need to wake up and smell the roses. I’m not going anywhere. I need to get to Dragon Isle and find the thing I need most.
As night feel we made camp eating only bread and cheese. We made a fire and went to sleep. Tomorrow we had a long way to go maybe we’ll get another ten miles in.
