Adonis was led to his assigned room to prepare for the banquet. He had never been to a banquet and did not know what to wear. It did not disturb him however for he had graver things on his mind. Was he pursuing Ares out of revenge, now that he looked back at everything he had done he knew he had been.
There was a noise from the bathroom, he withdrew his axe and crept in, ready to defend himself from an assassin. Instead it was a cat, a fat orange cat. It stood on the counter simply licking its paws. Adonis breathed in relief, putting his weapon away the cat suddenly spoke “ why you put your guard down, how did you know I wasn’t going to kill you?”
Adonis was about to ask something when Cyranos continued “ I know this because they have had this room prepared for you for over a century, ever since the prophecy came into existence. I cannot tell you the prophecy so do not bother asking, and if you would be so kind as to clean my litter box I would be much obliged”
Adonis laughed at the mention of the litter box, not knowing what it was. Then he seen a wooden box full of sand, inside were lumps in the sand that stank heavilly. He left the washroom and found in the wardrobe only one suit. Cyranos spoke from behind “ I selected that suit myself, a nice royal blue robe is quite popular in this day and age. Before judging you must know it has been hanging there for over a century so it is not my fault if it is wrinkled.”
Cyranos rolled over on his back and replied “ didn’t you know its bad luck to ask a gibbering cat its age, I will pretend you did not ask me and maybe you’ll be safe. Now I will leave you in peace, you have company”
Adonis was confused; he asked, “ what exactly is he? He said something about being a gibbering cat”
The doors were pulled open and they walked into the large dining chamber. It was the largest room Adonis had ever seen, large arced ceiling with giant wooden carvings of the leaders of the past. The table in the center was made of the best quality oak he had ever seen, glistening with the reflection of the candlelight.
The feast itself was something extra-ordinary on its own, fruits and vegetables of every kind were found on the table. There was wine as well that looked exquisite, the cutlery was fortunately made of normal metals. There was a great lack of meat however; he sat at the chair assigned for him. Against the tall back of the chair he finally noticed the Queen. She sat at the biggest chair at the end of the table, dressed in a green dress made of flower pedals with golden leaves placed within her red hair. She lighted to room more than any candle could, sitting to her left was Celestria dressed in her blue robe and to the right of the Queen sat Aldon in a majestic blue outfit.
Dominic still had his armor but no weapons with him. Kulos who seemed out of place and felt it too, sat in a large chair that had been designed especially for him. Tyronis sat beside him in his wizard’s attire and next to him sat Mal. All the other elves he did not recognize.
Suddenly Cyranos jumped on the table and said, “ No, I am the fourth.”
The Queen replied sternly “ for one so keen on receiving respect your not very good at giving it back. It is not very proper to stand on the table”
The Queen nodded and replied, “ I knew king Carlos, and he was a good and just king. Not a disrespectful cat like you”
She smiled and answered, “ Good question, we elves are vegetarians. Unlike other elves it is not by choice, you may have noticed there are no animals in the area. For over two centuries we have consumed nothing but fruits and vegetables, we could no longer support meat. I am sure you will receive much meat when you meet the dwarves”
Before she could reply Cyranos said from afar “ I believe if we permit the orcs to enter the forest it will be our downfall. You know as well as I do we cannot permit the impure to enter, it is a wonder on its own that Kulos was invited.”
The club hit him full strength, but rather than hurting him the pain transferred to Kulos, sending him sprawling to the ground in pain. Cyranos smiled and said, “ I may be de-clawed, but I still got power”
The Queen understood and said “ Aldon will be joining you along with 20 elite soldiers, you will all be given new weapons to replace your own. Adonis you may keep your war axe for it is more powerful than you know, but I will give you a sword as well. I bid all of you fare well and good fortunes.” They all left the room and half an hour later were back at the army.
Ares replied “ news of new angel warriors, Tyronis is the first of many. They are making the opposites of each of us. If all those forces are put together we will lose”
Ares was shocked, he replied “ but sir, I have been most loyal to you, please reconsider”
Lord Krale threw out of the tent. He slowly walked up to Ares who had just gotten up and punched him with his gauntlet hand, sending him against a tent. Demons came out hearing the excitement; Krale ordered “ Kill the hybrid scum” he turned around, leaving Ares at their mercy.
The demons surrounded him, he raised his hands and yelled “ terrak nor!” he was engulfed by a sphere of water, he sent it flying outward knocking the demons off their feet. Jumping over one demon he transformed into a crow and flew away.
Jolene did want power and yearned for revenge, she just hoped she never faced Ares in battle, because she would have to kill him.
