"God damn it!" I screamed, storming into the training center.

"What happened?" asked Tamwyn immediately. "I heard that the Earth warriors broke in, but no one would tell me how they did it!"

"Jesus Christ Star, no need to scream at me!"

"Shut up for God's sake!" he roared, matching my volume. "Just calm down."

I took several slow, deep breaths. It did nothing to relieve me of my rage and fury. "They killed Kathryn." I growled.

"Did she earn her name?" he asked in a hushed voice. To die before earning your true name is a disgrace to you and your family.

"She did. She died saving Hannah Santos. Her name is Spark now, or her name was Spark, I think."

He nodded his head in sorrow. "When is the funeral?"

"In three days," I replied. "And in five days…

"In five days we will truly fight."

He narrowed his eyes. "Was that your decision?"

"Indirectly." I shrugged. "We all know that I'm really the strategist anyway."

"Star…" he began, but I cut him off.

"It's decided. What's done is done, and there's no going back now."

He sighed, sounding defeated. A sound I don't hear often. As in, I never hear him give up that easily.

"Fine then." He said, looking slightly cross. "I assume that we're well prepared?"

"We have been for weeks now, you know that."

"Good. Then get working on the funeral."

I knew Flame was having nightmares about Spark. I could hear him wake in the night, screaming.

Death no longer has an effect on me. I am indifferent.
