Chapter one
I love school! Meet my friends, goof off, skip classes, go to near by stores. My parents don't care...I love it! However, the teachers are just annoyed by it, except for one teach, who obviously is considered my favorite: Mr. Ray, my biology teacher. He's one of those types of people that take it easy and slow. Easy tests, easy homework, but doesn't let us use notes when it comes to taking tests. We have to study. Ugh! Hate studying.
Today is Friday and Prom is just two weeks away. Nobody asked me out, yet. I don't have boys as friends, nor do I talk to any for fun, except one: John, my very close friend since first grade. He doesn't talk alot, and is very smart. I love him as a friend. What makes him attractive is his muscular body which is different from the rest of the muscular boys because he's not fat and he's in tenth grade grade just like me, but we share no similar class periods.
I ate lunch at school this time which was cheese pizza and salad, and then my friends and I headed towards a shoe store. I had biology next, so I didn't buy anything because I can't make up my mind quickly.
I reached class just before the bell rang with my two other buddies, Ruby and Sammy.
"Xylia, do you know what we humans and, let's say, monkeys have alike?" Ray asked.
He always starts off with questions when starting a new section.
I flipped through my biology book to the section we just started.
"Forward facing eyes, finger nails, and fingers...?" I said or more like asked.
"Yes. Humans, gorillas, monkeys, chimpanzees, etc. are placental...." He kept on going while writing on the board.
There is something about him that made me uneasy, though. Whenever he looked at me with that smirky smile, it seemed as if he was planning on something...Whatever. I was his class pet. He loved me and wanted me to be happy during his class. It was just that way of glaring that made me...scared?, I guess.
Friday -at school- was almost over and I had already planned to do so much. I went home and got dressed to go out to the movies with my girlfriends and at six o'clock, I ate dinner with my family. Hot chili was all I ate because I was excited for the rest of my plans: have a sleep over at Ruby's and get there early to watch the special movie on tonight. Ruby is my best friend, no doubt. Most of my classes are with her, though I don't attend them, and she's a good confidant. If she felt silly, she would come with the rest of my friends and me and go out, otherwise she attended her classes like a good student.
We would watch movies and play games and sometimes we would walk her dog, Rock, at one in the morning!
As I was packing my cloths for the weekend, the door bell rang. I walked to the stairs and watched as my mom opened the door. At first I thought it was John ready to ask me out, but no.
It was Mr. Ray, with a clipboard and a pencil in his hands...What was he doing here?
