** Holly **
Holly woke with a shock, she looked around as if in a daze. As she looked around she realized she was still in her room.
“Whew“, she thought “ I was only dreaming”.
Holly had been having the same dream night after night for the last two weeks. Each night the dream would become more real and more intense. Almost to the point she could not shake out of it.
“What is wrong with me” is all she could think.
Holly is an Elf. She stands bout five feet six inches, ravishing red hair about to the middle of her back, and green eye like glass. Her skin is vary pail no matter how much she is in the sun. She is seventeen years of age, and in elfish years that makes her an adult. Even though she is an adult in the eyes of the Elfish counsel her father is vary protective of her. He tells her he only wants the best for her, but she knows it is because her mother died some years ago protecting her from a pack of wolves in the woods. Just before she died she chanted something over Holly, than gave up her spirit.
Holly always believed her mothers spirit came to live within her somehow that day, but there was never any proof of that.
Holly decided she could not sleep any more so she got out of bed and went to wash he nightmares away with a nice hot bath. Never before did she feel this shook up over her dream. But for some reason she could not get it out of her mind. As she filled the tub she thought about the dream. Something didn’t feel quite right about it. So she decided she would talk to her father about it. She had never done so before, but after all he was on the High Counsel and would probably know just what to tell her.
Holly’s father was sitting down to breakfast when a strange feeling came over him. Long ago he learned not to over look these feeling, so as he pondered the thoughts in his head he could not help but think bad times were soon to be upon them.
Holly’s father was called Rodan the peace maker. He was in charge of keeping the peace in there community. There had never really been much for him to do because it had been a long time since there had been a crime. There was a time when his job was not quite so easy. A long time ago when they first inhabited this land there were many beings trying to take it away from them. Those were dark times, and back then Rodan feared those times would return in his lifetime. This was the feeling he was having now.
Just then Holly emerged form her bath wearing a green silk dress that was held together by a button on her left shoulder. Which signified she was a single woman, if it had been held together on her right shoulder this would mean she was married or to be married. Holly was a stunning sight, the dress set off her eyes and they seemed to glow. She was a beauty and Rodan knew this. He knew his job as a father would soon become vary hard when the young male Elves came a calling. Even as the pride he had for his daughter brought him out of his current thoughts, he couldn’t help but see the trouble in her eyes.
“ Is everything alright with you my dear” he ask with concern in his voice.
“ Well to be completely honest with you father, no it isn’t”
“ Do you care to speak to me about it” Still concern in his voice.
“ I don’t really know where to start” Holly was playing with the food in front of her not really looking at her father.
“ You see I have been having a dream for the last two weeks”
“ Is it the same dream” he ask
“ Yes and it get more intense each night”
“ What does this dream consist of honey” as he looked at her with a puzzled look on his face.
“ Well I know you are a wise man, and after we finish breakfast I will tell you all about it.”
So they sat there in silence as they finished their breakfast. Rodan wondering what was wrong but did not want to push the issue, and Holly was only thinking about the dream.
