TALON HAWKS

On the coldest of all winter night, high about of the world, stood what might be called the gateway to heaven, Who’s heaven, moral man or the dragon’s world, THE REALM. The world of dragons and the immortals that protect the sacred dwelling place. As long as time had known, there numbers are at a losing count, the first dragon has one chance left . The quest for a new immortal, one with the grace of a human woman and courage of a dragon. All mortal women knew of them, and the choice they made. To have just one of the dragons offspring, the mother of an immortal child. It was just once every thousand years the dragons call upon one that would be willing to fight for justice and hope for mankind. On this very day of the one thousand years, as women are waiting to gain entry to the Realm. The sacred stronghold of the dragons, each have shown they’re worth, by walking the thousand days to reach the realm. The chosen mortal, the pick of what Origin wanted. The female would be his for a night. Origin eyed each and everyone of them, looking for something hidden in there soul. The beauty that he saw was what made him chooses Sethra, and she would be the barer. She feared him not, only standing defiant at his glare, he was fouled before and wasn’t going to let it happen again. Origins’ blood and Sethra’s beauty. The ultimate immortal would be brought forth, dragons, and those that believe in a way of life, their sole right to take and give nothing in return to carry the oracle of the realm, but which half would be given? The heart or the strength that would carry the name of the immortal Talonhawks.

The deeds will be great, but the loneliness, the silent, something that follows one step behind her heart was of the chosen one for the rest of her life. The mother she had known would be long dead and friends had long passed but the immortal would live forever. The dragons would become her family now with little contact with humans. A guardian dragon was chosen to watch over the child, close to her heart would be Bayshar, more that a friend, he would be her protector in times of need. They would speak to each other not as dragon and immortal, but as special people. No men or women had entered this world . . . The dragons had lived in their own world for so long that the needs of an immortal were not given much thought or did there care, these immortal guardians’ protectors of the human world, are from dragons. They need them to guard over the world, and their presents, would be kept a secret from the mortal world. The Realm was all they had left and their clan, dragons from all parts of the world called the Realm home. Those that had left, never turned to the Realm, their powers lost forever, hunted and destroyed by the world of humans. They ends were coming at a great pace as centuries turned over so fast the need for a new guardian weighted heavy on Tomigins’ mind, may she be the new hope for their world.
Tomigin had made his choice, the dark haired misfit that showed no fear in his presents, only the steadfast look. Her name is Sethra.

She had long for and prayed to the gods, one child is all that is given to a moral woman, an immortality child. Origin knew that a child born to a moral woman, and the Lord of the Realm would be of great value to the Realm, this women would bring him closer to what he wanted for his world. Surrender to a dragon as an immortal with no life as a human. Origin would make this woman swear , before a child would be given. He wanted this woman, and making her give an legions to him, meant more than the child. He wanted her more than he wanted the Realm.

The eldest dragons required a promise of her, before she is granted entrance to the Realm. One promise that must be given first, with a promise, a life without dying, to leave the world of mortal and be an immortal. Only with the promise that the child would be trained in the old ways of honor and bravery, uphold the code of the Realm. Defended the weak and the lost, help those is needed. The woman agrees, and the child was to be given. The love she had for the dragon may have been too much for the Tomigin. For the dragon brought forth a young man for the young women. The women saw how Tomigin could turn into a beautiful young man. The ugly dragon was more than a dragon, he was a man, more than she had expected. The young man led her to a seduced place, telling her of what was expected of her, to vow too returned on the day of the 12 months of the 21st year of the birth of the child. She was to be surrender the child to the Rim. She told the young man, she would obey the vow to have a child. First she wanted to know his human name, the young man looked at her and smiled, “my name is Origin, that is I am the first, the order starts with me.” “Are you pleased, with what I have to offer you?” “Yes and no” said Sethra,” you want my child, but you also want me to forget the child as well? “ “What is to happen to me? “ said Sethra. “ I have plans for you, but this will come later.”
Sethra’s mind was on fire, how would she explain this, what she wanted, the loss that was going to happen, too a live that had no choice in, Realm. Sethra tried for years to tell her daughter of what had happened, but could never find the words. Then on the day she was taken, Sethra thought, my child, she was just an object to a dragon, a girl of twenty-one, too leave her family and friends and never to see them again. The child would be alone and be indebted to the dragons. This is what the Lord of the Realm requested, she never knew till that very day. Her mother lead her to the Realm, saying everything that was going to happen and the loss she felt. Talon, her given name was chosen by the dragons, a symbol of strength. There would be no love only quests and deeds nor laughter from her family. She told her of the promise she made
This time she told the child that the promise must be made whole for the dragons, by her 21st year. Thinking about what may happen was not an option, only a duty. Angry spread over Talons’ body, how could someone she loved much, less trusted, do such a thing to have a child, a child she would lose. To make such a bargain, forget the pains that it would cause, forget the lie that she was told from birth, she wanted to scream at her mother, to run away from this bizarre torture, her mother was saying. Never to fall in love, to feel the touch of a man to spend a lifetime with someone you love. Tomigin watched as Sethra brought the child forth, he has plans for Sethra, he wasn’t going to let the women he loved too ever leave him again.

“Bring the child forward” a booming voice said. “ I have waited long enough woman.” “Is she trained, or did you forget the promise you’ve made?” “I remember, I remember the night even to this day, she is trained.” “What is lacking will be provided by the dragons and our magic.” “Now go. Your present is not welcome,” Tomigin wanted this woman away from him, remembering the night he spent with her, the memory haunted him to this very day. She loved him as a man, not as a dragon. He will find her later.
There was no goodbye from her mother, she just turned and walked with her head down, not wanting to look at her daughter. The shame she felt, for wanting something that was being taken away was more than she could take. The dragon lead Talon to secret entrance to the Realm, “you must never show this entrance to any human? “”You, will be given a treasured item of our world, one half of the talisman sword, it has a great power, and strength, it holds all of the ancients of past Guardian, the vision of the future will be given to you Talon, but not your future. “ ”You, are, my immortal. “ said Tomigin. To hate was all Talon could think about with this dragon. He smelled discussing , rotting ages of scales, of burnt fire after the rains. Could this be the hell on earth, an eternity with this dragon, for his beckon call? Talon thought of her life from this day forward, the loss, was more than Talon could take. Why had her mother wished this fate on her?
Talon thought of ways to force the aging dragon to let her go, but she also know he would take his angry out on her mother. What choice do I have?
Talon turned to Tomigin, “ I am no immortal or guardian” said Talon. “Yes you are, the day you were born, the dragons’ kiss of fire was laid upon your breath, you breathed it in as a life stream, your father did this to you” said Tomigin. “Then who is my father?” said Talon. “Origin is your father” said Tomigin. “Show him to me now” screamed Talon.
“Show such angry is defending the Realm and you will meet him someday” said Tomigin.
“I’ll show him more than that” said Talon.
