Novel By: Tedrick
Fantasy

The world is a huge and undiscovered place, and human beings have discovered only a small part of it. While all of the humans all around the world are busy doing their business, a secret world that lies behind the waterfall is in total chaos.

A magical kingdom called the Yule Kingdom was the main controller of the whole world—even the part which is yet to be discovered. The rulers were King Arthur Rufus III, Queen Serendra Martha IV. Their son and daughter as well, Princess Eliott Josh, and Princess Daisy Savannah.

But the mystical Yule Kingdom has been overrun by a famous army of goblins, ogres, trolls, and demons called the Exitobis. King Rufus' problems got worse, and upon the death of his most loved queen, he seeks revenge on the dreaded army.

Meanwhile, in the world, Timothy Smith, an thirteen-year-old boy, was too busy living his life during the summer. His friends, Ralph Cruz and Anna Quinton, worked on a small lemon stand too. Everything seemed normal, until...

The living nightmare starts when Timothy and his friends get sent on a quest to save Yule Kingdom and the rest of the secret world that lies behind the very special and specific waterfall. They didn't know what was coming ahead of them, and they didn't know if they were going to survive and complete it.

The entire Yule Kingdom was under attack.
King Rufus was, for the first time after a very long period of time, panicking. He ran around the castle, so much for him being a king. Countless armies of trolls and ogres charged around the fortress, smashing furniture, burning down walls, and tearing down paintings. Everything was in a total mess, and all of it was King Rufus' fault.
Well, maybe not all of his fault, but most of it was his fault. If he was not so clumsy, and if he would have been alert all of the time, he would've readied his entire army to defend Yule Kingdom from the impending Exitobis. But that maid-that dirty maid had to seduce him. How was he so absurd? He had his own beautiful queen, why did he had to make an affair with some other woman?
It was all my fault, he thought, now I shall suffer.
But what about his queen, his prince, and his princess? They didn't caused this wreckage, he did. Because of this attack, they would all die. Not only that, how about the town people? All of their children, their wives, their husbands-all dead because of his stupidity.
No, he had to defend everyone. If he had to sacrifice himself to save everyone, then he would still do it.
He ran towards Defense Tower One and alerted the guards, who were previously snoozing on the job. He smacked them in their heads using his staff. The two snoozing guards woke up and looked annoyed, but immediately made a straight face as they noticed the king standing in front of them.
"Can you both please explain to me," King Rufus scolded, "why are you both sleeping on the job?!"
One of them elbowed the other, "Uh-there was a mage, and uh... oh! He casted Somnus, the sleeping spell!"
"Kindly look around." King Rufus replied and gestured towards the windows. The clumsy guards walked their way towards the window, and their face turned pale as white.
"Sir-sir!" both of them barked. "Yule Kingdom is getting stormed by the Exitobis!"
King Rufus jabbed them with his staff. "I know! Now get your lazy bums and ready those trebuchets!"
"Yes, sir!"
The guards went to their posts and readied the war machines. King Rufus ran his way towards the main castle corridor and headed for Defense Tower Two. Unfortunately, his way was barricaded by a battalion of ogres with clubs.
"Ignis!" he shouted, and flames ignited at the end of his staff. Soon enough, a fireball emerged from the tip and flew straight towards the battalion. There was an explosion, and the ogres in front got burned into a crisp. The ones behind stumbled and fell, and they were too stunned to stand back again.
King Rufus ran over the dead and stunned bodies of the ogres and headed for the Defense Tower Two staircase. His heart beat increased heavily as he made his way up the stairs. As he reached the top, his worst fears overcame him.
A tall man wearing a purple cloak designed with the starry night sky was standing in the center of the circular room. He was holding a long black staff, which was taller than him. The staff emitted weird power, and it made King Rufus extremely nervous.
"Oh goodness," King Rufus told himself, "it had to be a Purple Mage."
The Purple Mage flicked his fingers, and the armed guards behind him instantly fell down on the ground dead. King Rufus held his staff and pointed it towards the Purple Mage, and the mage did the same: the wizard battling stance.
"Aestus!" the Purple Mage declared, and instantly, a large wave of water appeared in front of him, soaring towards King Rufus. King Rufus was widely known for his invention of an entire array of spells, and Aestus was one of them.
"Never use a man's spells against him!" King Rufus shouted. "Vulcan!"
Hot fireballs splurted out of the tip of King Rufus' staff, and they all bounced and extinguished themselves to vaporize the water.
"Anima!" the voice of the Purple Mage echoed, and strong gusts of wind emitted from the tip of his wand. King Rufus' staff flew out of his hand, and he had to crawl on the floor to get it back. But once he claimed it, the Purple Mage was already ready to bust him out.
"Ignis!" the Purple Mage yelped, and flames circled around the tip.
"Armatura!" King Rufus countered.
A circular force field covered King Rufus' entire body. The tiny balls of flame that was moving around the tip of the Purple Mage's staff formed a large fireball and shot it straight towards King Rufus.
There was an explosion. The Purple Mage stumbled and fell on the floor. The impact of the fireball smashed King Rufus' force field, and he, too, fell on the ground.
King Rufus struggled to stand up, but he has casted too much spells, and his body weakened. He was also already old, so his body was cramped and easily weakened.
On the other side of the battle field, the Purple Mage stood up. King Rufus did his best to stand, but he just couldn't. It was okay for him to get killed, but if he got killed, everyone who has no fault will be killed as well. He doesn't want that.
"Ignis!" the Purple Mage vociferated, and small pulps of fire circled around the tip of his staff. King Rufus obviously couldn't stand up, so he pointed his staff at the Purple Mage.
"Somnus!" King Rufus shouted. A bright yellow speck of light shot from the tip of his staff. The Purple Mage looked panicked, and as soon as the yellow speck of bright light hit his chest, he fell on the ground snoring. The Purple Mage's staff shot out a fireball, and it hit a wall that exploded into bricks. A trebuchet rolled and fell, and the open air almost dried King Rufus' lungs.
For a moment's relief, he managed to stand up. A large section of the wall was destroyed, and it revealed the currently-being-wrecked Yule Kingdom. The sky had a weird and misty green color, and the clouds were moving peacefully. It would have been a nice day to have a picnic by the nearby park, but no, everything is turning into an oblivion.
King Rufus thought that staying up the useless Defense Tower Two was just a waste of time, so he quickly climbed down the flight of stairs. Soon, he found himself facing another battalion of ogres in the corridor, or was it the previous battalion that he shot a fireball at. The ogres charged at him.
King Rufus decided to shoot another fireball, but he was already weakened too much, so he decided to run instead. Such a miracle that he could still run.
He headed for the east wing and found a weakened castle army fighting against an advancing small army of trolls with spears. Some of the castle knights had their swords bent and destroyed by the magical spears of the vicious trolls.
King Rufus didn't want anyone to die anymore, so he pointed his staff at the trolls. "Ignis!"
Small sparks of flame circled around the tip of his staff, but it seemed to be weak. The trolls slashed and attacked the weakened army. Two more of the knights got stabbed and died.
"C'mon!" King Rufus wiggled his staff to make it work faster. "Faster!"
The small flames formed one fireball and shot right through the trolls. There was an explosion, and King Rufus almost stumbled and fell on the ground. Some of the burnt trolls got thrown up in the air, and some crumbled to dust. They were all dead, and the three remaining alive knights thanked King Rufus.
"Thank you, o lord." they all said at the same time. King Rufus didn't have time to say "You're all welcome.", so he quickly ran away. But then he forgot where he was suppose to go, and he remembered his family, so he dashed up towards the Family Tower and got horrified.
Prince Josh was decapitated, his dead bloody body left on the ground. Princess Savannah was trembling beside Queen Martha IV, who was also trembling in fear. A large ogre holding a really long khopesh slowly walked up towards them, and the queen and the princess eventually reached a dead end.
King Rufus got extremely saddened by the looks of his dead son, but if he spent his time grieving, his beloved queen and daughter would get slaughtered by this rotten stupid armed ogre. He haven't tried transforming his staff yet, but he was too weak to cast another Ignis spell, so he decided it was the right time to try the new feature.
He held the staff horizontally in his two hands and started to pull it outwards. A blade was revealed in the middle. He bent one part of the staff and fused it with the other, forming a handle. The blade extended outwards slightly, and now he was holding a full-size sword in his hands.
"Come on," King Rufus provoked, "it's slaughter time."
King Rufus magically had the energy to run, so he did so towards the armed ogre. Unfortunately, the sound of his steps made the ogre notice him. The ogre readied its khopesh for battle.
The ogre immediately landed a slash towards King Rufus' north, so he sidestepped and slashed, but the ogre parried his attack. The entire Yule Kingdom was under attack.

The ogre immediately landed a slash towards King Rufus' north, so he sidestepped and slashed, but the ogre parried his attack. King Rufus had the urge to cast an Ignis spell, but he already transformed his staff into a sword.
"Go, Arthur!" Queen Martha said. "Defeat that beast!"
King Rufus stabbed, but the ogre sidestepped and bashed King Rufus in the head using the handle of his khopesh. King Rufus' mind went dull and empty, and his vision blurred. He dropped on the floor, and he was ready to slip into unconsciousness. But the voice of his beloved wife regained him.
"No, get up!" Queen Martha shouted louder. "Defend Yule Kingdom! Defend the whole planet!"
King Rufus stood up and readied his sword again. The ogre snarled and readied its khopesh. King Rufus can't lose this fight. He needs to prevail to save everyone.
But no, he can't save everyone. He's just going to save his family.
"Bring it on." he whispered.
He ran towards the ogre and quickly sidestepped to avoid the ogre's stab. He, then, attempted to stab, but quickly wheeled it back. The ogre got caught in the trap, and it looked confused for a couple of milliseconds. King Rufus jumped as high as he could, placed his sword in front of him, and wished that he had sliced the ogre to death.
There was a ripping sound; meat getting teared in half. He closed his eyes to prevent himself from seeing all the blood. After his feet hit the ground, he opened his eyes and found two half bodies of an ogre on the floor, covered in green oozy liquid. His sword also had green stains in it-ogre blood, the most royal blood next to human blood. There were applauses from his family.
"I know you could do it!" Queen Martha cheered.
"My daddy's the best!" Princess Savannah cheered as well.
King Rufus huffed in exhaustion. He looked around, and his remaining family felt safe. He thought it was enough for his part, so now its time to save the remaining town people.
But his heroic moment ended when a meteorite crashed into the ceiling.
"Duck!" King Rufus shouted.
The environment suddenly got hotter, and chunks of debris fell from the ceiling. King Rufus ducked, and his back got hit by multiple and, luckily, small chunks of stone from the ceiling. Once the damage was done, he looked around and saw a huge flaming rock sitting at the middle of the room. Sparks electrocuted it several times.
"Be careful!" Queen Martha informed.
There was a flash of blinding white light, and the huge flaming rock extinguished itself. It grew metallic spider-like legs; eight in total. It also grew a muscular torso, two barbaric arms, and a head. Everything looked extremely human-except for the fact that everything came from a boulder.
"The Rock god." King Rufus exclaimed. "I forgot its name, but it is the Rock god!"
The Rock god crawled its way quickly towards King Rufus. King Rufus sidestepped and attempted to stab, but the blade emitted sparks and got deflected. How was he so stupid? A sword can't beat a rock.
To King Rufus' surprise, the Rock god continued crawling behind him. Two weird metallic contraptions-like mini cannons-arose from its sides. The mini cannons targeted at Queen Martha and Princess Savannah's location.
Small beams of differently-colored light played around the tips of the cannons. King Rufus didn't know what was happening. What was that kind of technology?
The specks of rainbow-colored lights formed one big multi-colored ball. Both of the mini cannons had that ball, and at last, King Rufus realized what was happening.
"No!" King Rufus shouted.
There was a burst, and for a couple of seconds, sound stopped. Two beams of multi-colored light shot out from the mini cannons at an amazing speed. The only things that King Rufus heard were the screams of his beloved queen and daughter.
He watched in terror as Queen Martha disintegrated into nothingness.
As the multi-colored beam faded, Queen Martha and Princess Savannah was nowhere to be found. King Rufus couldn't help it, but broad tears fell down his eyes. His heart felt like it was getting beaten by five muscular ogres. His brain almost stopped thinking. His lungs almost dried itself.
The Rock god simply stared at him, almost insulting him. The mini cannons retracted inside the rock again.
"Look around you." the old wispy voice of the Rock god echoed inside King Rufus' mind. "Yule Kingdom is now in our possession. "
King Rufus looked around. The once majestic walls were crumbled into nothingness. Countless castle knights killed by the magical weapons of Mages and ogres. Most of the town people killed as well. The beauties of Yule Kingdom destroyed. It was over for him. It's Game Over.
"Alright, you win." he told the Rock god. "But I'm reclaiming this kingdom soon."
And with that, King Rufus escaped. He's never going to let the Exitobis win. Never.
