Kin is a simple kid. He's a 16 year old boy starting his third year in highschool. Kin was originally born in the United States but moved to Kyoto Japan when he was small. About five foot tall in height, slightly slender, with blue eyes and dark brown hair. His mother is from Japan yet his father is from Florida. The girls in his class seem to think he's cute. Kin doesn't seem to think so.

As Kin sits in class he feels very worn out. The night before he was up late listening to music, giving him only about three hours of sleep. As he sits there half asleep, his friend, whom hes known since he was small, notices and tries to wake him up before the teacher notices as well.

"Pssst!" He quietly whispers. "Kin wake up your going to get caught again."

The teacher notices this and confronts the two of them.

"Mr. Ryu is there something the matter," she says, "Ah, it seems that Kin has fallen asleep in class again. What should it be this time, detention?"

Ryu looks at the teacher, then at Kin.

"Go easy on him," he says. "I'm sure he didnt mean to."

Kin, noticing the chatter, wakes up.

"Oops!" he says to the teacher. "Did i fall asleep again? Im really sorry. Do you think you could just give me a warning?"

The teacher stares at him, observing him. She normally is the type to make decisions on how she feels. In this case Kin does not seem to be very lucky today.

"Wow, three days of detention for sleeping again," Ryu says. "Thats pretty harsh.:

"I know!" groans Kin. "Here, give me a hand with my locker, its stuck again."

As the two boys struggle to get the locker open, Ryu's sister, Mia, walks up to them in a very happy mood. She is one year younger than they are, and unlike her brothers hair, which is orange,  her black hair goes down to her shoulders. Shes just a bit shorter than Ryu and Kin. her green eyes meet Kin's.

"Let me guess," She says. "You got detention again, didnt you?"

Kin nods. "Is it really that obvious?" He thinks.

"Kin, Kin, Kin," she sighs. "When are you ever going to learn from your mistakes?"

"Probabaly never," laughs ryu, as he opens the locker.

"Anyway," interupts Mia, "I was wondering..... Kin, if you umm wanted to go to the movies this afternoon with me?"

She begins to blush now. "The new anime movie came out today, and i thought you might like to see it".

"Yea sure," says Kin, completley oblivious to the fact that Mia was asking him out. "Who else is going with us?"

"Oh its just you and me this time. Do you think you could pick me up at around seven? My mom will be at work so i dont have a ride," she lies.

Mia knew very well how dense Kin could be when it came to this stuff. By lying about the ride she could maybe turn this night out into a date like she planned.

"Thats fine," he responds. "How much was a movie ticket again?"

"Its five, but you might want to bring ten just in case." And on that note Mia leaves to her bus. As she walks out the doors of the school a girl notices that she has a big happy expression on her face.

Kin and Ryu begin to walk towards the parking lot to leave as well. Kin had just recently gotten his drivers licence which made it alot easier to get around. As they pull out of parking Ryu asks Kin a very peculiar question. Well, a peculiar question for Kin at least.

 "Are you happy about your date Kin?" he asks.

"What do you mean date?" Kin Relpys. "Were just going as friends, arn't  we?"

"You really are dense, you know that?"

"But i thought she only liked me as a friend. And besides, shes your sister."

"Well the thing is," He starts, "Mia really likes you alot. She talks about you constantly at home. It's kind of annoying actually."

 "Do you think I should cancel?" He asks.

"No dont cancel, it will brake her heart. Really I think you should give it a shot. I dont mind at all. I actually think its kind of funny."

"Gee thanks." Kin utters.

The following evening for Kin was different than his normal ones. He told his sister Amy, who just turned 8, about his date. She laughs at the thought of her older brother going out with a girl. Shes actually quite mature for an 8 year old. With black hair that ran down to her shoulders, green eyes, and a small scar on her left cheek.

As Kin gets ready for his date he starts to realize actually how pretty Mia is. He starts to get nervous and wonders what will happen.

"Wanna tip?" Amy laughs as she sees her brother repeating lines in a mirror.

"Yea whats that?" He replies.

"Just relax and be your self. Its not like you just met her, youv'e known her for a while now. Just act like you normally do but show a little interest in the date too."

She looks Kin in the eye and says. "Trust me ok."

Kin nods, " You know your pretty smart for an 8 year old."

"Hey whats that sapose to mean?"

  As Kin pulls up to Mia's driveway he wonders if he should get out and go in or honk the horn. Honking the horn would be rude he thinks, and on that note Mia walks out the house wearing blue jeans and a blue top. Kin was releived that she was dressed casual. He himself only put on jeans and a t-shirt.

"Hey Kin are you ready?" She asks as she gets in the car.

"Yup thats a nice top your wearing."

"Oh this? I got it yesterday, do you really like it?"

Kin nods as he stares intently at Mia, which he had never once done in the past. As they drive towards the movies Kins feels a little awkward for some reason. He had no idea what to say and apparently neither did Mia.

They get their tickets, Kin pays, and sit down into the theater of their movie.

"So whats this movie about again?" Asks Kin.

Mia replys, "Its an anime love story that just came out. Iv'e been wanting to see it."

Kin begins to realize how much thought Mia has put into this date.

"Man shes crafty," he thinks.

The movie begins as the last few people get into their seats. Kin and Mia had chosen seats in the back of the theater, towards the top. They watch the movie, and to Kin's suprise it wasnt that bad. Yea it had the love story part to it, but it also had some interesting fight scenes added to it.

About halfway through the movie Kin begins to wonder if anything is going to happen. Not in the movie, but between him and Mia. A sappy love scene was playing at the moment and Kin thought it was the right time to make a move. He thought he might grab her hand and as he went to he suddenly stopped. He cant do it. For some reason he couldn't  grab her hand. He was too nervous.

"Whats wrong with me?" He asks himself. "Why cant I do it? Come on just grab her hand."

And at that moment moment, as if Mia saw that Kin was having a little trouble, she grabs his hand, looks at him, and smiles from her seat. Kin's heart begins to beat at a fast pace now as he looks into her eyes.

The movie finishes and Mia lets go of his hand. The walk out to the car as they discuss the movie. Kins seemed to like it  more than he thought he would. They seem to talk alot more on the ride back to Mia's House. As they pull up her drive way they notice the lights are off in her house.

"I guess they went to sleep, huh?" Mia sighs. "Now how am I going to get inside? Oh i have an idea, Kin follow me."

Kin does what she says and gets out of his car. She grabs his hand again and pulls him into the direction to which she leads him. She takes him past her house to a big hill that has a great view of the moon and a forest thats been there since anyone knew.

"Iv'e never been here before," kin says. "Is this what you wanted to show me?"

"Yup," she replies. "Its my special spot. I mostly come up here to look at the moon and just kind of think to myself for a while. Its beautiful isn't it?"

Kin nods to this. It is actually a very beautiful sight. The full moons light glows over the forest making it light up, as if a million fire flies were out tonight.

As they stand there and watch the view, Mia turns to Kin, her face is blushing red. She starts to speak.

"I had a really good time tonight Kin." Mia says softly.

"Me too." He replies while standing there thinking of how stupid he looks.

They stare at eachother for what seems like a life time. Both of them are now blushing alot. Kin wonders what to do and looks back towards the moon, as if looking for an answer. And as he turns back to face Mia she suddenly suprises him and kisses him deeply on the spot. Kins eyes widen but then slowly close as he embraces Mia. The two share a passionate kiss for waht seems for a while.

And then, a bang. A loud crackling, banging noise fills the air as if a giant gunshot had just went off. The two stop kissing and immediatley look around for the noise. It gets hotter, and hotter until Kin see's it. A firing hot meteor barraling towards the forest. As it hit the ground a second bang roared from the forest. All they could see was fire. The earth begins to shake as a wave a wind and smoke cover Mia and Kin. Kin grabs her hand. He slowly loses consciousness. The last thing he saw was Mia's eyes. And then...Darkness.
