Kin wakes up surounded by fallen trees all around him. The fire created by the blast is still raging strong. At first Kin does'nt realize what has happened to him. He gets up, staggering, then looks around and thinks. He was with Mia on this hill when... the asteroid hit. Suddenly Kin\'s heart seemed to stop as he looked around frantically. Where is Mia! She was gone from the spot Kin had last seen her. What if something bad has happened to her? Kin starts running around through all the smoke and debris calling Mia's name. He calls, and calls, but there is no answer. Just fire and smoke all around him. If he didn't get out of here soon he would surely sufficate but, he wasn\'t about to leave the forest without Mia.... he couldnt.
A tree falls in front of him, nearly missing by an inch. He turns around, more fire, he looks left and right but he is trapped. Trapped in the blaze of the forest. He falls to his knees.
"Im going to die," he thinks. "Im going to die here. Die.....Die....die."
"Keep going." A voice whispers.
Kin quickly lifts his head up looking around for the origin of the whisper. Was it his mind playing tricks on him. Could someone have really made a whisper to him in this fire,... impossible. He hears it again, it is a womens voice.
"Dont give up. Keep going," it says.
Kin doesnt know who is talking but the voice gives him comfort, and courage. He gets up immedialtey as fast as he can. He has one shot. He guns it towards the tree, if he could jump quick enough he might be able to avoid the flames. He jumps and lands on the trunk of the fallen, burning tree but just for a second as he jumps off to the other side. Even though it was quick his leg has a burn on it, his shoes are on fire. He pats them out, being careful not to burn his hands. It's out but his leg burns bad but he keeps going. He runs covering his mouth from the smoke. He has to find Mia fast.
He runs towards the middle of the forest. He dare not return without her. Just then he notices the smoke starts to lighten. The air starts to get cleaner. How could this be? A clearing maybe. A light appears up ahead, not like a normal light. It gave off a purple glow. He runs towrds it with all his speed. Anything was better than this inferno, could it be Mia?
He reaches it. As soon as he enters onto what seems to be a clearing he gasps for air. It is clean here. No smoke, no fire, just fresh air, grass, and .... something else.
As he gasps for air he looks towards the center of the field. A huge rock was sticking out from the ground. Could this be the meteor. But how is that so? Shouldnt it be on fire? And why is this field so safe.. so clean. He walks towards it with caution and with each step he feels a pulse beating hard, not in his chest but from his whole body.
He reaches the mysterious rock. It gives off a purple glow.
"What the hell is this," he says.
Just then, as if given a response, the rock glows dark crimson. Kin jumps back startled. The rock shatters but not like how rocks normally break. It shatters as if it were made of glass. Kin covers his face, making sure not to get hit by any shards. He looks back towards the rock. It is gone. Instead what stands there is something that left Kin completley and utterly confused. His mind races with questions. What is going on. Where once stood a rock stood a weapon. A sythe. It actually didnt sit there it hovered just a few inches off the ground. And thats when the mysterious voice came back.
"Please, grab it.... do it .......do it now," it said. "Grab the scythe ......NO!--- ........do it."
The voice speaks to him. It seems different. It wants him to grab the scythe but he didnt have time for this. He had to find Mia.
"It will help you find her," the voice suddenly said , as if reading his mind.
And at that note he took hold of the scythe. I mean why shouldnt he, he had nowhere to turn and the voice had helped him before. He trusted its warmth. But as he gripped the handle all the warmth all the happiness went away. The air grew dark and cold as if light were never going to come. Thats not all that changed the voice changed as well.
"AHAHAHAH," the deep voice laughed maniacally. "Insolent fool you shouldnt be so trusting!"
The scythe suddenly spun around in Kin's hand. He quickly lets go because this thing had a mind of its own apparently. The trees around the clearing start to decay. A deep fog rolls in making it very hard to see. Kin doesnt know what to think. The courage in him seemed like it was fading away the deeper the fog got. It consumed him with fear. And thats when he heard it. A scream, but not just any scream, Mia's scream.
