I stalled as long as possible before I had to go back to class. Aleisha left for her class and I sighed and walked to mine. I've sat by all but Shane. I'll bet you anything that I have to in this class.
I was so right, I sat next to the other boy. He was definitely the cutest out of all of them. Such pale skin and jet black hair with blood red highlights. Now I could see the front of him and he had a gorgeous face. His slightly spiky hair covered half of his face with his blood streaked bangs. I almost died at his cuteness. One strange thing though were his eyes, they were black. Black? Maybe I'm just seeing things today. Class started.
He never said a word to me the whole class hour and didn't look too friendly. I wondered if maybe I should try talking to him. They all seemed to know each other and the others were so friendly maybe he was too. Maybe he just wasn't good at showing it. Finally the bell rang and he jumped up from his seat. All the kids rushed out the door. I quickly gathered all my stuff and ran after him. Right as he walked out the door I caught up to him. But me being a klutz I tripped on the edge of the door frame. Actually I'm quite surprised that I've made it this far through the day without tripping and falling flat on my face. I started falling but I felt something slip gently around my waist. I stopped falling, I was in Shane's arm.
Shane was holding my stuff in one arm and me in the other. He quickly set me on my feet and started walking down the hall. I had to walk fast to try and keep up with him. I wanted to say my thanks but he was gone from my sight in seconds from the crowed hallway. Sighing I went to P.E.
Being a klutz made P.E. horrible. I hit several people with the tennis racket on accident. Oh great this is really gonna help you get friends in this school I thought sarcastically. Soon the dreaded class of doom was over and I walked out only to find the "Four Cuties" standing there. Adrian smiled and winked at me, Blake kissed my hand gently. Matt just smiled at me but Shane didn't even look at me at all. He acted like he didn't even want to be here. They followed me to my locker and out to my car. I got in it as I watched them go to this shiny red and black Ferrari. I gaped at it. It was new and pretty. Adrian got into the drivers seat and revved the engine. They sped out of the parking lot. I came back to reality and drove home.
We got home and Shane took out his contacts. They hadn't done a thing today. Even with them on his eyes were fully pitch black He was really hungry and really mad. Adrian took his out too revealing glowing red eyes. "I could have killed her at any moment today! You have no idea how good she smells to me! She's not like other humans. I can tolerate them well but her she's much different!" Shane shouted.
"It's Ok Shane, calm down we know and we're not mad, we understand of course she smells different because she is different." I assured him. Suddenly Adrian's eyes clouded over and became misty. We all knew what was happening and we waited patiently. He finally spoke and his eyes returned to their natural red.
"Her father is going to die tonight. She's gonna live with us."
"WHAT?!" Shane exploded. "She's gonna live with us?!"
"Yes, we will invite her to live with us." Adrian spoke coolly. Before Shane could say anything Blake stepped in saying
"Don't worry you can stay away from her until you can get used to controlling yourself around her. If you are around her then we'll keep a close eye on you if you want. If you start to loose control then we'll stop you and take you away." Shane seemed to relax at Blake's comment.
"Wait. She'll eventually find out what we are even if we try and keep it a secret." He protested.
"She won't mind its in her nature after all." Adrian said.
"So is that alright with you?" Blake asked.
"Whatever! I just need to feed NOW! Shane exclaimed almost ravenous.
"Alright you need to go now your about to loose it. Come on I'll take you." I told him.
"I can go by myself!" He snapped.
"Not like this you can't." I replied. I then dragged him out to my car refusing to let him drive. Blake and Adrian waved to us from the front door.
"Make sure he doesn't do anything stupid!" Adrian shouted teasingly. I had to restrain Shane from attacking Adrian and he finally calmed down.
"Make sure you bring Alex back." I yelled back. Adrian was still laughing from Shane's reaction so Blake nodded.
