Chapter One: The Dragons
I dove behind a garbage can to escape the thundering of boots rushing past me. I squeezed myself in a large hole in the brick wall. I thought I was safe there in my little hole-in-the-wall.
I was wrong.
One Dragon knocked the trash can out of the way, and grabbed me by the scruff of my neck.
"Look what we got here!" he shouted to a man standing a few feet away.

"What's up?" I asked.
"Phone," she handed me the telephone.
"Hello?" I said as I walked out of my mother's room.
"Hey there, Catnip!"
