         A night with the figure

The figure led Jesse out of the door and in to a little hallway. The walls around them were made of the finest bricks Jesse had ever seen. The ceiling was made of large beams crisscrossing over and under each other. The only light in the hallway was coming from a small candle that the figure held in his hand. Jesse eyed it, being very cachous about it.

“I can put it out if you don’t like fire” Said the figure
“No, it’s ok I like fire” Said Jesse
 “But it makes light”
“Ya but it’s what I call dark light. I can control fire” Jesse then put her hand out over the fire and closed it. Now the room was dark as ever. The figure looked curiously at the closed hand. Jesse smirked at him and all of a sudden opened her hand, the ball of fire leaped from her palm. It danced around the two of them, off the walls and the floor. The figures eyes were wide with amazement.
As Jesse started to close her hand the flame got smaller and smaller, finally, the two of them were back in the same darkness that they had been before. Jesse held her hand over the figures candle and let the fire relight it.
“Amazing” said the figure to himself
“Nay, it’s just a small trick I learned when I was 10. My father taught me it” Jesse said “Now can you tell me your name?”
The figure hesitated for a moment then looked at Jesse’s pleading eyes and finally gave on.
“My name is Storm” he said
“Really?” Jesse said for she had never heard of a person with that sort of name,
“Well that’s what people around here call me” Said Storm.
“Well, do you want to know my name?” Jesse said
“No” Storm answered
“What not!?” Jesse pouted
“Because I all ready know who you are” Storm said “You are Jesse Parker, James Parkers daughter.” Jesse’s heart sank at the sound of her fathers name, Storms could sense her sadness, just like he sensed all the other emotions Jesse was feeling.
“I know how you feel “he said
“How? Have you ever lost someone and have it be entirely your fault?” Jesse said trying to hold back the memories of that day. Storm put his arms around her and held her close; Jesse couldn’t hold the tears any longer, as Jesse sobbed in his arms as he stroked her long blond hair.
“I lost my brother in a battle about 4 years ago; he got lost in the woods and was captured by the opposing side. When we herd of this we tried to get there as fast as we could but we were too late, we say him on the top of a mountain and we new who was up there with him. He was forced to jump and by time we got him on to the dry land…. It was too late. He was only 14; he was too young I should have never let him go in the woods that day.”
Jesse looked up at him, and he wiped a tear of her check. Storm put his hand on the back of her head and pulled it close to his chest; he then kissed her on the forehead and laid his cheek the top of her head. The two of them stayed there for a minute lost in each others arms. For the first time in a long time Jesse felt safe, and the dark powers inside her were in harmony (for now).
