One night Katie was sitting on her bed making a new poem since she wants to be a poet. "Before you start something new," She wrote. "Just try to make it through. That's good I’ll do that," Katie sighed. “I'll never be a poet. My poems songs suck" All of the sudden Katie felt really tired and passed out. When she woke up, she appeared to be in a small white room. She stood up shaking, looking around breathing heavy. "Welcome!" said a voice, from inside the room. Katie turned around quickly and saw a woman standing there in a white dress and large white wings. She had straight blonde, long hair. She was smiling; her face seemed that she was a friendly person. "How are you feeling? You have been passed out for quite some time. Well I see why, you have been transferred to another place. Everyone passes out when that happens." "What...what do you mean?" Katie asked confused and scared. "I mean you got transferred, you know to another planet," The girl said. "By the way my name is Amanda." "Hi Amanda I’m...." Katie started to say but Amanda cut her off. "I know your Katie" Amanda said. "How do you know that?" Katie asked. "We need your help. Please come outside." When they stepped outside Katie saw the most amazing things you could ever see. Now she knew that, in fact, she was in another world. There was a huge pond and trees here and there. It was amazing, but that’s not all. There, at the far end of the wonderful place, she saw a huge white castle. She saw a church, a school, and houses. But the thing that surprised Katie was that there weren't any normal people there. There were angels, Jeanie’s, wizards, mermaids, mermen, fairies, and pixies. Also there were creatures like no other. There were griffins, unicorns, and Pegasus. "Wow" Katie said in amazement. "It’s beautiful." "Everyone who has been here has said that," Amanda said. "But no one gets to go home and share there experience." "What do you mean?" Katie asked. "I mean, the mission, the thing we need you to do, the reason your here, is very dangerous." Amanda replied seriously. "What do you need me to do?" Katie asked. "Nothing now," Amanda replied. "I just want you to meet people and explore everything." So they went to explore and meet everyone before she started her mission. She met just about everyone. There was so many people that it took up a lot of the day. The next step was to go to the castle and start the mission. The castle was a beautiful place. "It’s just like what I thought it would be, just like what my dad read to me." Katie said. “Hello Lizzie" Amanda said. "Amanda!" said a girl who jumped up and ran toward Amanda. "I’m so glad your here, he came back last night. I was so scared. Plus this time he threatened all of the world. Please tell me you got a human girl." "I did and she is right here with me." Amanda said very calmly. "Hello my name is Elizabeth, but people call me Lizzie. What’s your name?" The girl was slightly tall and very slim. She had hair at least to her shoulders and it was a light brown, almost dirty blonde but not quite. "My name is Katie, and I’m here to help." she said. Even though she had no clue why she was there and what Lizzie was talking about when she said 'He came again', but she was trying to help. "Thank you," Lizzie said. "Amanda did you tell her about 'Him'?" "No I wanted her to enjoy this place a little bit before the reason." Amanda sat down at a huge lightly colored blue table. She looked depressed but happy. "Who is 'Him'?" Katie asked. "Silly child his name is not him, it’s actually the king of Ultoroy; Ultoroy is the name of this place. His name is King Samuel. He is actually my former husband. He wasn't always evil but after 'it' happened he couldn’t take it anymore. He committed suicide. Now he wants to come back and rule Ultoroy, and make it evil and everyone depressed so they know hoe he felt. But since he is dead he can’t rule, but he’s still trying to take over. He’ll keep coming until he kills a girl; you see he thinks that if he gets souls of human girls, then he’ll rule, but actually the spell he put over us will break. Do you understand?” "No not exactly. Why did you pick me, and what happened to make him commit suicide and become evil?" Katie asked "Well he became evil after 'it' happened. It was when the horrible storm hit. He lost everything that day. Everything but me and his castle and his land, everything else was destroyed. He just couldn't take it. His brother was dead and he was so close with his brother. So after a while he became very angry. So he became evil all together. King Samuel otherwise known as King Sam or King S committed suicide and well that’s what we thought was the end. I was planning to re-marry and he found out about it. You see the dead know everything. He was very unhappy with me and starting haunting me ever since. Right now I’m 20 and Samuel was 20. If he gets souls of human girls then the spell over Ultoroy will break. The spell is that everything is slowly turning dark. It hasn't quite reached here but it will shortly. We have moved the farthest we could but it still follows. If his human girls will put on the Ring of Death then the spell will break." Lizzie explained. "What’s the Ring of Death?" Katie asked. "The Ring of death is a ring that can kill. If you put it on after 10 minutes you will die and the spell will brake. This death is very painful but Ultoroy will be safe if you do this," Amanda explained. "What do you say?" "I don’t know," Katie said quietly. "This is kind of sudden." "Please I’m scared," Lizzie said. Just in case you’re wondering Lizzie is the Queen of Ultoroy. "I need somebody to do this. We have had many other girls but they fought back. They refused to put the Ring of Death on. One girl put it on and barley lived. She was also the only one to turn into a creature. She was stronger than the ring, so she got to live. She is the only survivor." "Do you want to talk to her?" Amanda asked. “Yes, I would." Katie said. "Wait before you go, you’ll need this." Lizzie handed Katie a black box. “In case you live through the Ring of Death, keep this. Only a survivor of the ring can be strong enough to open it, and the girl refuses to open it. Lizzie gave Katie a gentle smile and walked away." "Now let’s go talk to her." Amanda said. They walked outside and they heard a ring. Amanda looked down and put her hand in a pocket. Katie never saw the pocket there before. It's like it appeared like magic. Amanda then pulled out a small angel statue, but the statue was ringing. Amanda pressed a button that also appeared like magic. "Hello?" Amanda answered her angel phone. "Yes this is her. Today? At five? Well I have her and...Yes, if you would like. I'll come now if you would like. No? Well at five I have plans and.....ok I’ll bring her now. Good-Bye." Amanda hung up her angel phone and looked at me. "That was Sir Andrew Outley. He would like to meet you. He is in the church. I'll tell you this, Katie, he is not a priest so don't even think about calling him that. He gets very mad. He is actually a physic and he goes to the church to pray at 12:00 everyday. We will wait for him outside the church. Then we will go to his hut. Understand?" Amanda seemed very strict, and Katie replied with a yes. So they went to the church. "Sorry about you not talking to Chrissy. That's the girl who lived. Sir Andrew Outley wants to, let me rephrase that, needs to see you as soon as possible." Amanda said "That’s fine. We'll talk to Chrissy another time. What are you doing at five?" Katie asked. "The real question is what we are doing at five." Amanda said. The door opened with a loud bang and Katie and Amanda quickly turned to look. Standing there was a short heavy man, about as tall as a sixth grader. He had a chubby face and seemed quite nice. "Hello, my name is Sir Andrew Outley. Pleased to meet you Katie." "It’s a pleasure." Katie said politely. "Come follow me" Andrew said. "Anytime you speak to me you must call me Sir Andrew Outley or I won’t respond. Understand?" "Yes I do Sir Andrew Outley." Katie said. Amanda gave Katie a slight shrug. Andrew smiled and continued walking. They walked over a hillside and came to an empty place. "Here we are" Andrew said. Katie looked confused. "I thought you said 'hut'." Katie whispered to Amanda. "I did, just watch". Andrew lifted his right hand up and waved it back and forth then in circles and snapped and pointed. All of the sudden a small brown hut appeared. "Wow" Katie said in amazement. Then they all walked in. The hut was separated into to rooms by a curtain. One of the rooms had 6 chairs in it, 3 on each side. Behind the curtain was a small table and two chairs. On the table was a piece of blue cloth and a crystal ball. "It's just like in books, in a story, but it's real." Katie said smiling. "That’s what they all say," Amanda said. "Do you know where the pond is?" "Yes" Katie said. "Ill meet you there." Amanda said and left the hut, leaving Katie and Andrew. "Please sit and I’ll predict your future." Andrew said. "No offence Sir Andrew Outley but I don't believe in this kind of stuff and....." Katie started to say. "You don’t have to believe." Andrew said. “Let the magic of me overpower the beliefs of you, all you have to do is sit.” "Okay" Katie said and she sat down in the chair. "Let me see your hands." Andrew said and Katie gave her hands to him. Her hands were lying on top of his and Andrew closed his eyes. Katie sat there for a while but jumped to the sound of his voice. Katie didn't understand what he said; all she heard was a mumble. "What?" Katie asked. "You’re a poet." Andrew said more clearly. You were writing a poem when we transferred you." "How did you know that?" Katie asked. "I told you, I’m a physic. Okay know for your future." Andrew said smiling. After about 10 minutes Andrew jumped back and stared at Katie. "What is it?" Katie asked worried. “Stay away,” Andrew said. “Stay far away.” Katie ran out of the hut and looked back as the hut disappeared into mid air. Then Katie said to herself of what Andrew said. She thought about what it meant and why. Katie walked up the hill and made her way to the pond. "Hey," said a voice. "Up here." Katie looked up and saw a fairy sitting in a tree. "My name is Haley. Welcome to Ultoroy, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Katie." "How do you know?" Katie asked. "Everyone knows you." Haley replied. "Want to come inside?" "Actually I’m supposed to be somewhere but thank you anyway Haley." Katie said. "Any day." Katie started to leave. "Wait!" Hailey exclaimed. "Who did you meet so far in Ultoroy, I know it’s not any of my business but I want to know." "I met Amanda the angel, Lizzie the queen, Sir Andrew Outley the physic and you. I’m about to go meet Chrissy." "Chrissy's a mermaid." Haley said. "Thank you" Katie said. Katie made her way to the pond where she saw Amanda and to her guess Chrissy. "Hello Katie," Amanda greeted. "Your here. I want you to meet two more people to add on to our journey. Chrissy and Madeline. Introduce yourselves to Katie please." "My name is Chrissy. I used to be a human until this happened." Chrissy pulled out a green fin and waved it up and down. Chrissy had long blue hair that was straight. "Yes I do have blue hair. All mermaids have different color hair." Chrissy said. "This is my friend Madeline." "Hello" Madeline said. Madeline is a shy mermaid. "Hello" Katie said "It’s very nice to meet you. I just met Haley the fairy she seems like a nice person. "She is." Madeline said. "I’m trying to get over my shyness, its working a little but not completely." "Its okay, I used to be shy." Katie said. "If you don’t mind were going to head down to our house and see you tomorrow." Chrissy said and with a flip Chrissy and Madeline were gone. "I want to see Andrew again; I need to ask him something." Katie said nervously. "You will see him tomorrow at 12:00 right now you need some sleep, you had a long day." Amanda said rapidly. Katie gave Amanda a weird look and they went to her house. The next day Katie and Amanda woke up and went to talk to Lizzie some more until 12:00. They only had 10 minutes but Katie was still paying close attention to what Lizzie was saying. Maybe Katie could find another way to not put the ring on and still save Ultoroy. "That’s when I came home and found him dead," Lizzie said. "It was awful. He was such a great person before the storm. If it wasn’t for that storm none of this would have happened." "I don’t want to be rude or anything but can I go wait for Andrew?" Katie asked. "If you wish." Amanda said and turned and started talking to Lizzie some more. The last thing Katie heard before she left the castle was "I can’t believe he killed himself." which was said by Amanda. Katie walked up to the church and stood there. "He’s not in there." said yet another voice." "Excuse me?" Katie said. "He’s not in there, he’s at his hut." When Katie looked she saw a human standing there. He was a little taller than her and had brown hair. "You’re a human?" Katie asked surprised. "Nope, a wizard, closer looking to a human than anything here though, my names David." The wizard said with a smile. "Katie." she replied with a smile. "Want to walk with me to Andrews hut? I’m going there anyway." David said. "Okay" Katie said. Then the two walked together to Andrews. “We had a chance to go back, but we didn’t, we like it too much here." David said suddenly. "Even after you found out about the curse?" Katie asked "Yes, were not threatened by it." David replied. "Why?" Katie asked. "Because I know that someday somebody will put on the ring and save us all," David said looking at Katie. "Were here" David said and looked at the empty lot. All of the sudden the hut appeared and Andrew stepped out. He was wearing a black shirt and black pants. "Hello Katie. I thought you would come soon. Come in I have to tell you something. David do you mind waiting here?" Andrew asked. "No I’ll wait." David replied. Katie and Andrew stepped into the room with the crystal ball. "What do you need to tell me?" Katie asked. "The curse is coming." Andrew said. "The curse is coming and so is King Samuel. He is looking for you. He knows what you look like and everything. Also I’m going to explain what I meant of when I said 'Stay Away'. You shouldn’t trust her. She is evil and she is working with King S." Andrew said. "Sir Andrew Outley I don’t understand. Who is evil?" Katie asked waiting for an answer. "Amanda" Andrew said and Katie left the hut, speechless. When she came out of the hut she didn’t see David. She looked everywhere but he wasn’t there. "Maybe he left," Katie said to herself. "Oh well." Katie made her way over the hill back to the tree where she met Haley. Katie thought she should get to know her a little better. "Haley!" Katie yelled. "Are you there?" "I’m here" Hailey said and came out with a frown. Haley spoke so depressed Katie couldn’t help but ask. "What’s wrong with? Why are you dressed in black?" "The curse, it started." Hailey said again sounding depressed. "Oh no. That’s why Andrew was dressed in black." Katie said worried and she started to leave then Haley said. “Before you go I want you to meet someone." Haley gestured somebody to come outside and someone did. "Hello, I’m Valerie. It’s a pleasure to meet you." Valerie was not dressed in black; she was in pink and had red hair. "I’m Katie" Katie introduced. "I know who you are, did nobody tell you that everyone knows you and that we have been waiting?" Valerie said. Valerie had a dark voice. “Well go have a nice day." Then Valerie left. "Oh yeah call me Val." "Okay Val." Katie said. "Katie I want to tell you something." Haley said as she exited. "I’m the fairy of Truth and Love, I know when people lie and I know when people are in love. You Katie are in love." Katie gave her a half smile and left. She saw Amanda at the pond talking to Chrissy and Madeline. She didn’t know what to do. Could she believe Andrew that Amanda was evil? Or could Andrew just be saying that to get her on his side and not trust Amanda? Well she didn’t have time to think because Amanda noticed her. "Katie come down here, I want you to meet just another person to your mission." Amanda said, she wasn’t acting evil, but she never had so why would she start now. "Okay" Katie replied. So she went down to Amanda. "Come on were going to the church." "Okay" Katie said. So they headed for the church but as Katie was leaving Madeline grabbed her foot came up and whispered in her ear. "Come here at exactly 12:30 p.m. I need to talk to you" Then she went back down into the pond and swam away. Then Katie left to the church. "Okay were here," Amanda said with a smile on her face. "Dylan! I have someone to meet you!" "Come inside!" yelled a voice from inside. So they went in. "Hello Katie." said an older man about in his early 50's. "My name is Dylan. I've been waiting for you." He came down and shook Katie's hand. "It’s nice to meet you too." Katie said. "Hold on one second someone is here for confession." Dylan said and went to hear the person confess. Katie couldn’t help but overhear the confession. "Forgive me father for I have sinned. I don’t know how to put this but I saw King Samuel today and helped him out a little bit. He said he wanted me to touch the golden tree and make it dark. He gave me this antidote and sent me for the tree. I went there put some of the antidote on my hand and touched it. I also kept it a secret. I didn’t tell anyone about the king or the Golden Tree. Do you think you’ll ever forgive me?" "Well if you do regret this you could have a chance of forgiveness, I don’t know I if I can forgive you completely though. You have made a terrible sin. You saw King Samuel and you helped him. Also you touched the Golden Tree. Plus you didn’t tell anyone about it. Have you done anything else you want to confess?" Dylan said. "No that is all Father." said the voice. "Then I find it in my heart to forgive you." Dylan replied in a soft tone. "Thank you Father." the voice said again and the person came out of confession and stared at Katie. Katie, in fact, did recognize this person. "Haley?" Katie asked. "Oh no you heard?" Haley said in a teary voice. "You heard the confession didn’t you?" "Yes I did but I don’t care, you did what you had to do." Katie said in a comforting tone. "Thank you Katie." Haley said in a teary tone again. "Amanda what’s so important about this golden tree? Katie asked. "Its Ultoroy's symbol. It’s the most important thing here and should never be touched by anyone except the King and Queen. But if the King is dead the Queen cannot touch it either and vice versa. The reason is that it was planted by the first people here, our first Queen and King. The King died one day and everyone believed that if the Queen or anyone else would touch it, they would die. At any time, they believed, if a non queen or king would touch it, they would die. Well now we don’t believe that but we still do the same thing for their respect. The first queen and king are our god and goddess." Amanda explained. "So you don’t believe in the curse of the Golden Tree?" Katie asked. "Of course not! It's all fiction." Amanda exclaimed. "Well why do you have to confess if you touch the Golden Tree?" Katie asked. Then Amanda said "Well we respect our ancestors. We don’t touch it and if you do you have sinned, to our ancestor, which is very bad." Katie thought to herself if Amanda went to confession or not. If she did then Andrew would be half lying. Half lying because he said that Amanda is helping King Sam and she has sinned. He also said that she was evil so that means she wouldn’t confess so Katie couldn’t help but ask. "Did you ever go to confession?" "Nope," Amanda said and walked away. Then Katie thought even more that Amanda is evil and is helping King Sam. Katie left the church and headed over to the castle. She wanted to know more about King Sam. She planned to go to everyone she met to get as much history on him as possible and who would be better to start with than his x-wife, Lizzie. "Hi Lizzie, its Katie" "Oh hi Katie can I help you with something?" Lizzie asked. "I want to know more about Sam. What can you tell me about his history?" Katie asked. "Well," Lizzie started. "He used to be the sweetest guy ever, that’s why I married him, I liked is character. He treated me like I was more than a queen. Well we met when I was a servant. He was the prince and I was dirt poor. He fell in love with me and I fell in love with him. We kept our relationship a secret just in case we weren’t allowed to marry. Sam asked his mother, the queen at that time, who he could marry. His mother was a very generous queen so she said anybody. His father was a little different. He was more selfish and said that he would pick out his wife. He said the nicest, most caring girl in all of Ultoroy would be his wife. I tried my best to be that girl but he didn’t pick me. He picked a girl named Amber. She was pretending to be all that to marry Sam. His father didn’t know that and picked her. Sam was furious and refused to marry Amber. His mother was on Sam's side and said that Sam should marry his true love. Not the one his father picked. So Sam's father couldn't take it that he didn’t want the girl he picked. So Sam's father, Andy, committed suicide. Amber was furious too and committed suicide. Every time someone gets mad they commit suicide, it's like a custom or belief. That’s a big reason Sam did. So eventually Sam married me. One day the big storm hit. Sam and his brother, Freddy, were talking that day. When the storm came Freddy died and Sam was furious. I was talking to Madeline at the time. When I came home to see if Sam was alright Sam had a knife in his chest. Blood was dripping everywhere, I was horrified. That same day everyone in Ultoroy was at his funeral. It was the worst day ever in Ultoroy. If someone commits suicide that means they become evil. Like I said about the spell breaker, that’s what we need you to do. Put on the Ring of Death. Please break this horrible curse. I don’t want Sam to haunt me anymore and I want Ultoroy to be safe. Please help me, help Ultoroy Katie. We need you. I need you." Lizzie started crying, tears running down her face. "Ill help" Katie said. "Ill give my life for this place. I care." "Then you need to say it in a speech." Lizzie said. She sounded like it was hard to say due to her crying. "I will," Katie said. "When?" "Now" Lizzie said. They went outside on the porch of the castle. Lizzie spoke in a speaker which was all throughout Ultoroy. "Attention Ultoroy. Come to the Speaking Area now. We have great news." Lizzie turned to Katie and said. "Are you sure you want to do this?" "Yes Katie said. I do" Lizzie turned and everyone in Ultoroy was there. "Katie has to say something." Lizzie handed the speaker to Katie. "I have made up my mind. I’m going to give my life and put on the Ring of Death. I’m doing this for you Ultoroy people, all of you. I care too much for everyone here and I’m not watching everyone die and have this beautiful place turn all dark. Ill do it." Ultoroy starting cheering for joy but Katie felt sick. "I’m going to lie down." "Okay. You should," Lizzie said. "Thank you Katie. This means a lot to us. You’re the only one to do this." Katie tried to give her a small smile but didn’t, she couldn’t if she knew she was going to die. "Good-bye" Katie said. As she was walking home she heard Madeline tell her something. "It’s exactly 12:30 p.m. I know Andrew already told you this but don’t trust Amanda. She is working for Sam. So is Valerie. Don’t trust them. Try to avoid them. Trust everyone else but them. Got it?" "Yes" Katie said. Katie didn’t know who to believe now. She was so confused on what was happening. "All I wanted was to become a poet,“ She said to herself. She noticed she was crying. "I didn’t want this. I wanted to complete my dream. I don’t want to risk my life for this place." All of the sudden she heard a voice from a cave. "Before you start something new, just try to make it through." Katie heard the words and recognized it right away. Before she was transferred she was writing a poem. A poem with those words. Her very own poem was being read. As soon as she heard it she got up and went toward the cave. "He...hello?" Katie asked, tears still coming down her cheeks. "Every time, you think about your dream. You start to think, can you believe?" The voice read some more. "Who are you,?" Katie asked. "Where did you hear that poem?" "From you." the voice said again. It turned around and a girl was sitting there. She had long black hair and was wearing all black. "The curse got to you?" Katie asked. "Yes it did. Be careful it will be worse. Once it gets all of Ultoroy King Samuel will come back. By the way, I’m Sarah. I don’t want you to die. Nobody does. We all want you to live but we also want the curse to break." "I’m putting the ring on" Katie interrupted. "No one will stop me. I’m saving this the only way there is. Please don’t stop me." "Fine. I won’t." Sarah said. "Ill let you die. Just like I will right now." Sarah pulled out a knife and stabbed herself in the stomach. She moaned and fell to the ground, Katie was in shock. She just witnessed a suicide. "Oh my God" Katie said and ran out of the cave. When she went outside Ultoroy was turning dark. Every color went black and other dark colors, everyone turned to have long black hair and dressed all in black, the pond also turned black. Everyone was frowning and seemed depressed. "Not now" Katie said in shock. "Katie!" yelled Andrew from the church. "Come with me I need to tell you something.” As Katie was walking to the hut she looked around at the horrible sight. Everything was dark and the sky was stormy. "Why does this have to happen now?" Katie asked. "Its time" Andrew replied. Everyones eyes were circled black. "Sir Andrew Outley I don’t understand." Katie said. "Did you know that it was going to happen today?" "Yes," Andrew said. "I didn’t tell you because I wanted you to enjoy it here for a while." They went inside the hut into the room with the crystal ball. They sat down and Andrew took her hands and closed his eyes. The crystal ball was the only thing in the room that didn’t turn dark besides Katie. "She dies." Andrew said and told Katie to go and do what needs to be done. "Who dies?" Katie asked. "You’ll have to figure that out when it happens." Andrew replied and Katie left and watched as the hut disappeared. "Who is going to die?" Katie said and found herself crying again. Katie made her way over the hill and back to the castle and the pond. Then she called for everyone she trusts to go by the pond and have a meeting. "Haley, Andrew, David, Lizzie, Madeline, and Chrissy come to the pond." Soon everyone was there. They all were dark and Katie was horrified to see them like this. "The curse has tooken over," Katie started. "King Sam will be coming soon and I will die soon." "He is coming in ten minutes." Lizzie said. "He told me in the castle." "I can’t believe this is happening." Haley said. "Why now?" Madeline said. "Its happening and we all are going to get through this. Even Katie." David said. "But Katie has to put on the Ring of Death for the curse to break." Chrissy added. "It’s the only way" Madeline said. All of the sudden a big strike of lightning lit up the hillside and a person was walking up it. Every stopped what they were doing and stared. On the hill standing there was Valerie, Amanda, and King Samuel. "Oh my God." Chrissy said. All the people of Ultoroy were thinking the same thing but didn’t say anything. King Samuel heard Chrissy and shot her with lightning. Chrissy fell into the water. Madeline hurried after her. A little while later she came up and said that Chrissy is alright, she only passed out. "Bow to me!" Sam exclaimed. "Except for you Katie, you’re coming with me. We are going to the church and we are having the ceremony. Everyone else must bow until it’s ready. Amanda will stay here with you and make sure your bowing." Then he looked at Amanda and said. "If any of them move, kill them. If any of them talk, kill them. Got it?" "Got it." Amanda replied then looked at all the people in Ultoroy. "If any of you move or talk you will die! Understand?" "Yes." said a wizard who was bowing by a bus. "Excuse me?" Amanda asked. "I understand." the wizard said. "I bet you do." Amanda lifted her hand and a bullet shot at the wizard and killed him. "If any of you want to turn out like him, just say." Then Amanda continued staring at everyone in Ultoroy. Chrissy was coming back up from the pond and started to bow. Along with Madeline, Andrew, David, Hailey, and Lizzie. In the church Sam was talking to Dylan of what he wanted him to do at the ceremony. "Read exactly what it says in this book. If you don’t I will kill you." Sam ordered. "I will read exactly what it says." Dylan said in a scared voice. Katie was in a small room that was black. It had only one mirror in it. As she was looking in it she was also turning dark. "Oh no." Katie said. Her hair was turning black and it was straight. Her clothes were turning into a black raggedy dress. "Why me?" she said to herself. Sam entered the room "When I say here comes the sacrificed, Katie, walk down the aisle." Then he left. Katie turned around and looked in the mirror. All of the sudden a piece of paper appeared. It was folded in half so she opened. "Just try to make it through." She closed the paper and started to cry, this time even harder than before. "I don’t want to die." Katie stood up and went to the door. "And with great honor." Dylan said professionally. "Here comes the sacrifice, Katie." It was time for her to go, so she went out of the room and walked down the aisle, with a frown on her face. She saw everybody she met and became friends with. She knew it could be the last time she got to see them. They were all dark with a frown, nobody smiled. "Good luck." Haley said, trying to help, even though Katie didn’t need luck, she needed a miracle. She reached Sam and stood beside him. He was holding the Ring of Death. The Ring of Death was a black ring with a red diamond on it. "Katie must vow before putting the ring on." Dylan said. "Repeat after me, I will sacrifice my life for Ultoroy." "I will sacrifice my life for Ultoroy." Katie said sadly. "I will not fight back the pain." Dylan said. "I will not fight back the pain." Katie repeated. "Now for the Ring of Death." Dylan said and Sam put it in Dylan’s hand. Dylan put it in black liquid and gave it back to Sam. Sam took Katie’s hand and put the Ring of Death on her finger. As he did this Katie looked away, she was looking at Haley, David, Lizzie, and Andrew. Chrissy and Madeline weren’t there. Tears were running down Katie’s cheeks. After the ring was on Katie felt needles go through her skin, blood running down her hand. She clenched her stomach, gave a slight scream, and fell to the ground. Haley, Andrew, Lizzie, and David all ran up to Katie and knelt beside her. "You shouldn’t have done this." Andrew said. "I had too." Katie said weakly. "Valerie" Sam said. "Arrest them!" So Valerie got up and flew toward all of them. Hailey flew up to the ceiling and Valerie followed. "Wait!" Sam said. "Don’t arrest them, kill them." "With pleasure." Valerie said and darted toward Hailey. "Amanda get Andrew!" Sam ordered. "Yes Sam." Amanda said and went toward Andrew. "Ill handle David." Sam said in a creepy, dark voice. “Val don’t do this!" Hailey pleaded. "I must!" Valerie replied. "And I will!" "But you don’t have to!" Hailey said. "You can stop now before it’s too late!" "No I won’t" Valerie said. "I’ve been told too, and I want too!" "Valerie!" Hailey yelled with fright. "Don’t make me kill you!" "You won’t kill me or anybody else." Valerie said calmly. "You don’t have the power.” "Fine if you don’t believe me." Haley told Valerie. "Ill show you.” Hailey took and step back and crossed her arms on her chest. A beam of light came from beside her and shot Valerie back. Valerie flew through the window. Glass stabbed her, and she was dead. Haley flew to Andrew to help him but as soon as she got there Amanda was dead. "I killed her." Andrew said. "I killed Amanda." "Good." Haley replied. "Now let’s go save David.” When they went back inside they saw David lying on the ground. "You’re too late!" Sam said. "I killed him, you’re too late." "David!" Hailey cried. "Oh no" Andrew said and ran to David’s dead body. "If I were you, I would spend your lasts moments with Katie." Sam said with an evil smile. "Where’s Lizzie?" Haley whispered to Andrew. "I don’t know," Andrew said but right after they said that Lizzie showed up. "Sam, stop this right now! Your not like this, this isn’t you; it wasn’t your fault the storm came. You shouldn’t have committed suicide!" Lizzie said bravely walking toward Sam. "It wasn’t just the storm." Sam said. "It was that I didn’t want to live here, I didn’t want to live in Ultoroy." "Where did you want to live?" Lizzie asked. "Tell me." "I wanted to live in Regot." Sam replied. "Why? Ultoroy is so much nicer." Lizzie said. "Regot is the closet we have to Earth." Sam replied. "That’s why." Then Sam fell to the ground, the curse was going away. "Katie." Lizzie said. "Please don’t die." "I can’t." Katie said and she was bleeding. "Isn’t there another way?" Haley asked, crying. "No." Andrew answered. "This is the only way." Soon they were all crying. "David is dead. Amanda and Valerie too." Lizzie said. "David?" Katie asked. "Yes were sorry." Haley said. Katie gave a moan and sat up leaning in Andrews arms, coughing hard. The curse was breaking and everything was going back to normal. All the darkness went back to normal colors and everyone was dressed in the regular clothes, even Katie. "The curse is wearing off. Thank you guys for sticking with me this whole time. I appreciate it." Then Katie leaned back closed her eyes and she was dead. Haley, Lizzie, and Andrew were crying. King Sam vanished into mid air. Everybody got up and went outside. Lizzie went up to the castle and out on the porch. The last time she was up here Katie made her speech about the curse. "Attention Ultoroy, please come to the Speaking Area. I have an announcement." Lizzie said through the speaker. Soon everybody was there and Lizzie began. "A few weeks ago a girl named Katie came to Ultoroy; she didn’t know what she was doing here and why. Then we told her. At first she wouldn’t do it but after a while Katie came to know and love Ultoroy and she couldn’t let it be destroyed. She loved this place and all of the people and seeing them get taken over by darkness was more than she could bear. So she decided to put on the Ring of Death. She risked her lives for us, for Ultoroy. Now we can live in peace because of that. And remember she was the only one to do this. So in this speech I thank her and so should you." Lizzie found herself crying. "We are burying her here. We will bury her by The Golden Tree. We will also praise her as a new goddess." Everyone in Ultoroy went to The Golden Tree and had her funeral. They buried her and then everyone said something. Nobody would ever forget this. But most of all no one would ever forget Katie. Lizzie remembered before the curse came and the first time she met Katie she gave her a black box. She remembered saying that only a survivor of the Ring of Death could be strong enough to open it. So she went to Katie’s old house and got the box. Then she went over to the pond, knelt down and said, "Chrissy? Come here, I have something for you." Chrissy swam up along with Madeline. "Hold on Chrissy." Lizzie said. "Haley, Andrew! Come to the pond." Then came Haley and Andrew. They were at the pond and then Lizzie said, "When Katie came and I first talked to her, I gave her this box and said only a survivor of the Ring of Death could open this, but she died. So who could open it now? The curse is over and we can’t get anybody else." Then she turned to Chrissy. "You can open it Chrissy, you’re a survivor." Lizzie handed Chrissy the black box and Chrissy opened it. Inside was a note folded in two. She unfolded it and read out loud. "Just try to make it through." Chrissy wiped a tear from her eye. She folded the note and gave it to Lizzie. "Put this on The Golden Tree." And so Lizzie did, she put the words to Katie’s poem on The Golden Tree. They put it tight above Katie. Then she looked at Katie’s grave and walked away, back to the pond, back to her friends, back to her life, back to the old life of everybody, back to her own land, Ultoroy.
