"So.. if you didn't send that note.. then why did you run away?.." his voice was soft and I could tell from his tone he felt hurt.. 
I took a deep breath and tried to explain things as best I could. "because I got a note.. it was delivered by a Laenix.. I thought it was from my father, it said everything you'd told me had been lies and to try to escape and meet him in the Elkannoe woods." I said without pausing for breath. 
Nicholai got up and began to pace the floor restlessly. clearly deep in thought, he mumbled something, but it was to quiet for me to hear. 

"Nicholai.. how is it possible that someone knows so much about my situation?.. enough to compose a note that'd convince me it was from my father... and why?.." 
He stopped pacing and looked at me, his worry showing clearly in his eyes. 
"Well the 'why' I can answer easily.. it's fairly obvious someone is trying to get you on your own, when your most vulnurable. if they know as much as that note suggests, then they no doubt know you have no vampiric abilities.. that you're weak and helpless..that.." 
I cut him off before he could finish, with an indignant protest. 
"I'm not helpless, my father trained me in swordfighting.. I can protect myself!" I sat up in bed now, wincing slightly, and glared at him. 
"that might be.. but not against a vampire!.. certainly not one who can command a Laenix with such ease." he said frustratedly. A part of me knew he was right, but I refused to listen.. 
"maybe not now... but you could train me!... I've seen you practice with Nathaniel, you're incredibly skiled.. If I could fight like you, I wouldn't need my vampire abilities." I pleaded earnestly. 
He groaned in frustration and ran his fingers through his hair. "no Celia!" 
"but why?!.. you can't always be there to protect me, I need a way to defend myself!"
He came to kneel beside the bed, taking my small hands in his, he said softly.. "Celia, no.. because I know you.. I know if I train you, you'll think you can handle this on your own.. I don't want you to get hurt.. I'll figure out another way to make sure your safe... Listen to me Celia, let me handle this.. don't go trying to deal with this on your own. my little headstrong queen." He kissed my forehead and gazed deeply into my eyes, silently pleading. we both remained in that position for sometime, both equally determined. But eventually I gave in and shrugged slightly.. I knew he was right.. I just didn't like the idea of sitting around like a little helpless damsel in distress. I just wasn't built like that. 'There had to be a way to convince Nicholai'... I thought to myself

"Darling, could it be that someone inside the castle might have had a hand in this?." I murmured the question as we lay i bed together. He remained silent for some time, clearly in deep thought, 
"It could be possible we have a spy, we have countless servants... and living in the same castle as you, it wouldn't be to hard to gather enough information to compose the note you described."
"I'll have Luciel check the records for any newly hired servant or slave since I brought you here.. I'll interrogate them one by one, It's unlikely any of them will posess the power to deflect my ability.. so I'll be able to tell if they're lying...
