“WHAT” I almost screamed

we walked in to my room I was going to press for more information when Derek burst into my room

“Haydien and some guy are fighting”

we all ran out my the door and down the stairs to the sight of some guy I did not know and Haydien goin at it , Haydien had him pinned against the wall

“why are they fighting” I asked Derek

“Shhh” Derek grabbed my hand

“I was not there for the whole thing I was only there for bits...that guy said he was gonna get you and you would not be able to resist or something ....I’m not sure how you would go for that and not ......anyways he went on and on about it then Haydien just got up and punched him in the face”

“NOT IN MY HOUSES .........ENOUGH....ALL OF YOU BACK TO YOUR ROOMS” Heathrow yelled.

Over the past few weeks Mr. Heathrow has been putting me in different combat classes.

“I am finally in your combat class”

“ya finally sheesh took Heathrow long enough you can so kick some ass for only being human” Lilly said.

Haydien left the night of the fight but we were told he should be coming back soon..... I walked into the battle dome to see Lilly and all the guys in the far corner just outside of the power shield. (the power shield is what they go into to fight it can only be exited when the fight is over and there are settings, till death, injured, or practice the teacher controls it) me and Lilly sat down on the benches talking about random stuff when ...Tess walked in ...I thought she was a student but apparently she is the teacher.

”Okay everyone sit down I will draw names for your partners and then we will duel”

“James and Gavin”

“Lilly and Derek “

“Jesse and Haydien”

I almost fell over when she read my partners name I did not even see him ...I did not dare to even look I would just wait till it was my turn. James and Gavin’s fight was comical James flew around and Gavin tried to jump and catch him so they did not get very far. Lilly had Derek pinned 3 times before he pinned her and I think she let him so he would feel better about himself.

“Jesse Haydien your turn”the teacher announced

I walked into the power shield ...i took a deep breath and turned around to see Haydien there.

“BEGIN”

Haydien ran at me...I tripped him he landed on the ground but was up In a matter of seconds Haydien came at me again I kicked my leg up and he caught my foot with his hands and flipped me up I landed on my back, he held out his hand and helped me back to my feet, I glared at him I was going to punch him I went for it but he grabbed my hand and his other hand went around my neck...not hard but hard enough I could not get away, I was not I lifted my legs and wrapped them around his neck and twisted we both fell to the ground with a thud, I was up faster and I leapt on him I brought my left fist down and got him in the jaw his lip started to bleed but h just licked his lip and pushed me off before I could even get up I was pinned against the wall both my hands were above my head and my legs were pinned with his

“do you give up” Haydien asked a wee bit out of breath

“No”

I pushed off the wall as hard as I could I don’t know how I managed to do it but it worked he stumbled backwards and I walked forwards .....Haydien drew his sword in one swift moment I drew........where’s my sword I looked around and about 10 feet away my sword was on the ground. I stood there staring at Haydien trying to think of a way I could get to my sword before he got me..... I looked up at the teacher she was about to blow her whistle ...i leapt to my left falling short I could not reach my sword ...Haydien had his sword at my neck he was just inches from me

“do you give up yet”

he asked I motioned my head at his .... Mhm ...Prize possession

“HAH”

I had a small dagger pointed right at it

“okay very good now go back to your spots”

“wow that was intense” Lilly said

I looked over my shoulder before me and Lilly sat on the benches to see Haydien and the rest of the guys talking

“dude you so won” Derek said

“ya you did” Gavin said

“yup” James said.

I caught myself thinking ....he could pin me against a wall again any day.... Haydien looked over at me and had an ‘Oh YA’ smile on his face. Me and Lilly watched as the guys played basket ball and laughed at them more then we were cheering. My cell vibrated...I flipped it open

From Lilly: that fight was totally kick ass!!!!!!!

To Lilly: ya and he is totally hot

From Lilly: ya he is ...just be careful about what you think when you are around him ....he can read thoughts.

To Lilly: ! Oh shit!

Lilly looked at me and we both started to laugh.

Later that night

I sat on my bed crying about my mom ... I felt horrible for having fun while she just died a couple of months ago

“she would want you to be happy” a oh so familiar voice said

I instantly stopped crying I hated to let people see me cry it made me feel weak

“I wanted to talk to about earlier but I can go if you want me to”
