Prologue
Sometime had passed, since the end tried to come, it was just like many people thought it would be, terrible, infinitely stupid and our fault. They didn’t figure it out in time, by they I mean the humans who walked on this earth in the early 21st century. Even though that was true, there’s always more to the story, just like there is more to you. And of this I am certain.
What stole the show were the bright light that tumbled the cities. The bombs that everyone was afraid of, until they actually went off. Then it was a pleasant since most people actually felt relief right before they died. It’s actually worst to be afraid of something and dread it forever. If you could hear some of the final words of the victims you would be surprised. Many whispered things like, “finally” and “thank god.” I’m not an expert, but I’m willing to bet that millions of people around the world were waiting for something, or someone, to stop them. That’s a bit harder to explain.
What’s essential to understand is that the end doesn’t come when you die, just like the beginning didn’t start when you arrived. It not about you, even though that a nice thought to have. What it’s really about is ideas, and words are their masters. The ones who figured this out first became “The Powerful”; leaders, warlords, kings, delegates, all that. Unlucky for the human race that most of the time this knowledge was discovered by the wrong type of human, and I assure you there are types. What type are you? Well I’ll tell you about the ones I met, others I only read about, and a few I had the misfortune to exit personally.
By the year 2077, many nations had begun to emerge once again; rising from the ashes so to speak. It was fairly quick in the scope of human time when people began to create civilizations again. Some of the prominent nations of North America were the explorers of Cypress and the progressive New Phoenix. There were also a myriad amount of smaller settlements; some of them are Joselyn City and Abby. They all have their own story to tell, but each piece in part of the same puzzle, the same course. I’ll begin with Cypress because well I have to begin somewhere.
