Memories of the Abyss

'When was the last time I saw the light from the Sulorias?'

The small child slowly raised her head to look at the dark sky that revealed the stars that was hidden by the morning light. The white moon that was glowing as she was running with her mother.

Her mother, Hikarai, was carrying her new born infants that have just entered this world, still having the umbilical cord attached to their small belly. They were both boys. Hikarai lifted her child up, running across the graveyard where brave warriors had died.

She put her head against her mother's chest, scared. Her mother was frightened as well, ignoring the wound on her stomach. She didn't got the time to tend to it nor the time to stop and rest.

"Mama, are we there?" asked the small fragile child.

The mother was huffing, so the child let the mother take her time to respond. "No," she finally said, "we are not there yet, Yurithia."

"I'm scared, mama," replied the child.

"Don't worry, mama will protect you." That was their last conversation together.

They soon reached to a black portal, at the end of the graveyard. The child, Yurithia, knew what was going on. She feared that 'he' was coming to them soon. Yurithia could hear his footsteps coming after them, faster then they could ever run. Even Yurithia's mom knew that 'they' were coming.

The mother set both of them down, quickly tying the bag where her infants were. She ignored their cries, regretting that she couldn't feed them. "Mommy.... their almost-"

Before Yurithia could finish her sentence, a man immediately got behind them, lifting something up in the air. To the child, it looked like a long stick in the dark, but she knew that it wasn't. It had the smell of her mother's blood.

He swung it d0wn, hiting against her mom's back. Yurithia soon realizes that it was a sword, the one that they used to stabbed her mom before they bagan to run away.

"MOMMY!!" yelled Yurithia, frightened.

Blood splatters on the ground and she immediately knew what was happening. Her mom immediately grabbed the man's leg, preventing him to go any further near her kids. "Yurithia, run!! Take Sevier and Saviar!!" she yelled.

Yurithia immediately knew what to do, she had to listen to her mother. That was her promise. To listen to her mother's every word with no hesitation.

She took her brothers, Sevier and Saviar that was in a backpack, put them in front of her and ran toward the portal as fast as she could.

The twin infant began to cry harder and louder. Even Yurithia was unable to do anything at this point except to protect them at all cost and to listen to her mother.'Mama will protect you,'she thought to herself,'Me and mama both want you to live a good life. It's fine if I don't make it.'

The man managed to get away from the mom by kicking her and ran toward Yurithia. Yurithia began to cry as she began to say her final moments. 'Eat good healthy food, like mama will always say. Be good kids, like mama say. Be good friends with the humans. Have a good life, mama and I will always watch you!'

She was near the portal, but before she could make it through, she felt pain coming from her back and chest, throwing her brothers into the portal.
