Waterfalls and Blood

           

A few minutes later the car halted to a stop, I looked out the window and saw a beautiful waterfall cascading down a rocky ledge, and a wooded area that seemed that it was untouched by any kind of civilization. That’s what I love about this place, it’s so close to the forest; that’s why I love the place where I work, it’s near a forest area that is very vast although no one goes there. I sometimes go there to think and eat my lunch in a secret spot where I always go to be by myself. I walked around the edge of the waterfall while the other three were watching me with smiles on their faces.

            “Wh-what are you guys looking at? Is there something on me?” I asked with an embarrassing look on my face.

            “no you just look really happy and very content, despite what happened earlier.” said Edward.

            “Yeah, you haven’t been here before have you? Isn’t it a nice place?” stated Chris with a whimsical voice.

            “I bet your old boyfriend didn’t let you go to places like this.” Said Mike with a smirk on his face.

            “No not really. He wasn’t really the nature-loving type. But most of the places he took me were nice. I guess you could say. So what are we going to do here? I need to go to work at - - -

            “At 4:30, right? We know that already. Anything else that you want to tell us before you ruin this nice scenery.” said Chris in a teasing voice.

            “Wait how do you know that I need to go to work at 4:30? I didn’t tell you and you certainly do know me long enough to know that!” I said in a tone I only used when people tried to be my friend and thought they knew me.

            “Simple, on our way to town, which was yesterday, we saw you running in the café at about 4:30, and you had a waitress uniform on. So it’s easy to piece together what kind of job you have.” Edward stated in a smart tone.

            “Oh, then you should have told me.” I said in a normal tone.

            “Now that’s out of the way, let’s look at the waterfall before we go and drop you off at work.” Mike said with his hand motioning me forward to him to hold his hand.

I hesitantly placed my hand on his, and quickly snapped it back, his hand was freezing. When she looked at his face, it looked like his eyes showed pain but his face showed that he was faintly smiling. He dropped his hand and started to walk away, but feeling resentment of my action I grabbed his hand and held it.

            “So where should we look first?” I said with a smile on my face.

            Mike and the others looked at me with smiles on there faces while Mike replied in a soft tone. “Let’s go anywhere you want to go.”

            No one ever asked me that before so I said, “Let’s go near the top of the waterfall and look at what we can see.”

 

About fifteen minutes later we finally reached the top and saw the sun shining brightly on the waterfalls cascading surface, creating a rainbow in effect. The forest trees were fading to light green as the sun started to reach its peak and the birds were singing a beautiful song. Everything that had happened didn’t matter anymore. I turned around and saw that Chris, Edward, and Mike were stripped down in only their boxers!! I yelped and turned around one of them, I didn’t know who, grabbed my tank top and yanked it off, grabbed my skirt, took it off, grabbed me and I felt the solid ground turn into fast moving air.

I couldn’t scream I just looked at the sky and tightened my grip on whoever grabbed me. I heard him laugh and told me to brace myself and I did just that. I felt the stinging cold water all over me and quickly swam out of the water toward the shore. While swimming I heard two loud splashes and I heard voices; one of them was talking sternly to the one that, I guess, jumped off the cliff with me. But I was to busy trying to swim to shore to notice who was doing what. I felt a sharp pain on my hand when I reached the shore, but thought it was nothing because I was cold I must have been sensitive since I was in cold water. I got out and felt the wind blow, I was shivering a little and walked to the sunniest spot I could find and sat down.

I heard their feet running towards me and I looked toward them with a smile on my face as I saw that Edward and Mike had scared expressions on their face, while Chris was in the water looking for something. I laughed even more when I saw what seemed to be Chris’s boxers in Mike’s hand. They started to laugh as well then they stopped when they noticed that I was bleeding on my hand. It must have been when I was swimming and hit the shore. I wasn’t worried too much I was going to cover it with my shirt but Mike ran along me and covered my wound with Chris’s boxers.

            “Hey, wait!!! What are you doing doesn’t Chris need those!!!”

            “Later he can wash it in the lake. But, for now I’ll use it for a cover. Does it hurt at all?”

            “No, it doesn’t hurt, not really. But I’m starting to feel a little lightheaded, now. Can we got inside the car now, please?” I was getting cold and the only thing warm was the spot where blood was flowing out of.

I was carried off by Mike in his arms that only made me cold even more, since his chest was bare from earlier. But I wanted to get in the car right away, in all the haze I didn’t see Chris and Edward around. I glanced to the water but Chris wasn’t there, so I figured Edward got an extra pair of boxers for him to wear. Mike and I reached the car; he set me down in the passenger seat and squatted near the seat. He closely looked at my hand, slowly reached for my hand, held it up to his mouth and kissed it! He then looked at me, smiled, kissed my forehead, closed the passenger door and went to the driver side and started the car. I was dazed and embarrassed I just looked out the other window wishing he wouldn’t do such things to the wounded.

I peeked at Mike but he was looking at the waterfall, like he was waiting for something to poke out of it. He then put on his seat belt and started to drive.

“Wait, what about Edward and Chris? Aren’t we going to wait for them?” I said in an alarmed voice.

“They will be coming soon. I was just going to drive near so they can get here faster. Don’t worry I would never leave behind Edward and Chris.” Mike said in a confident voice that brought a smile to my face.

 

In the corner of my eye there behind the waterfall was, sure enough, both Edward and Chris fully clothed and sprinting to the back seats of the car. Mike put the heat on and put his dress shirt on me as a blanket; it smelt good like a natural smell not cologne. I started to feel better and the bleeding stopped so Mike pulled over at a restroom area and told me that I could get cleaned up. I walked to the girl’s restroom and uncovered the blood soaked boxers and found that the cut was healed; only a faint scar remained. I was amazed then kind of freaked out because my cut was big and now it was small. Was it the boxers? No, that was a stupid thing to say, but it couldn’t have been when Mike kissed my hand. That would be weird, my thinking was gone when my phone alarm went off, I was actually surprised it still worked after being dunked in water. I looked at it and saw it was 20 minutes to 4:30, I cursed softly and left to tell the others I needed to go to work.

“Mike, Chris, Edward I need to get to work in about 18 minutes do you think I can get there by then?”

Of course, I didn’t need to ask such a question; Chris smiled and told Mike to get in the back with me. I put on my seatbelt and readied myself for the rocket fast speed that was called Chris’s normal speed. As I started to get the hang of his driving, I looked at my hand again. Mike saw me and grabbed my hand and examined it closer with a smile on his face. I just stared at him returning to what I thought earlier, what did his kiss do to my hand? Once more my train of thought was ruined by the cars skidded stop, we were already at my work.

“Thank you all for the nice trip to the waterfall. I wish we could go again, this time let’s swim when the water is warmer, please?” said when I was getting out of the car and standing near the open window.

“No problem, it was our fault. Rather it was really Mike’s fault; we had a great time with you today. We will take you somewhere soon again.” said Chris with a smile on his face.

“Don’t worry, we will keep Chris away from you when we go there again.” said Edward looking at me with a sorry look in his face.

“Sorry Karin, I wanted you to lighten up, it’s like you’ve never seen a boy in his boxers before. Your face was so flushed and cute.”

“I haven’t seen a boy in his boxers until now. Thank you very much. Bye guys I need to go now! I’ll see you at school!!” I yelled as I ran inside the café to work. I glanced at the car as they drove off quickly. I had an amazing day, I hope everyday with them is as great as today was.
