PROLOGUE

Around the early 1500s the human race entered the next stage of evolution, an evolution that gave them powers the world has never seen before. The first few humans with these powers were killed out off fear and superstition but they soon grew too numerous for the world to handle. By 1563 the majority of the world was superhuman and by the 1600s the entire world was superhuman causing worldwide chaos. Governments were destroyed and world order became a thing of the past, the strong ruled the weak and the weak ruled the weaker.

This chaos continued for many decades until a group of individuals tired of all the suffering created a new world police to regain order. The new world police or N.W.P fought for many years to achieve peace and after many struggles and wars they gained enough support to restore the world to peace. By 1883 the N.W.P had begun to reform the world to accommodate the new race of humans that now inhabit it, new governments were created and countries boundaries changed creating a whole new world. By the new millennium the world was born a new and the N.W.P was a major world power regulating all laws relating to the use of an individual or groups ability.

The N.W.P is made up of many branches but starts with the three main divisions Polaris, Wave, and Nova. The first division Polaris is responsible for average day-to-day crimes whether they involve the use of an ability or not, Polaris is also responsible for the construction, distribution, and management of police stations all through out the world. The second the division Wave is responsible for public affairs meaning they make the laws relating to the use of an ability, keep the public informed, and take care of all political and world issues relating to the N.W.P as a whole. The third division Nova is responsible for major incidents involving the use of an ability, it is smallest division in the N.W.P with only twenty-five members but is also the most respected division.

The leader of Nova, Justice, is said to be the single most powerful man in the world and is feared by all criminals including most of the Top 10, the worlds most dangerous and notorious individuals. Justice is so feared by criminals that the governments of the world and the N.W.P created the “Justice Satellite” a satellite system capable linking up with other satellites and machines to create an all seeing eye, the satellite also broadcast speeches personally made by Justice himself to inspire the people. To counter act the Justice Satellite the Top 10 created “Blankgrids” or areas stripped of technology that neither the world governments nor the N.W.P want to interfere with since the crimes there have no affect on the rest of the world. In a way the Blankgrids help create some order by keeping some criminals contained in them.

The Top 10 are the N.W.P top priority since the longer they stay free the more trouble they are likely to cause in the world, so they are constantly being hunted. The year is 2025 and Blankgrids have been in existence for five years.

CHAPTER 1

In the dead of the night, a tall green haired man wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, plain blue jeans, and black sandals walks aimlessly on an old bridge leading to a dark city only illuminated by torches and candles. As the man reaches the city he sees a sign that reads “BLANKGRID AREA: STAY AWAY”, he ignores this sign and continues walking until eventually collapsing in the middle of the city. When the man regains consciousness he finds himself being carried by a large brute accompanied by a shady group of people dressed in all black, he manages to squirm his way out of the brute’s hands and tries to run away. The man is quickly recaptured and knocked out by the large brute, when he wakes up he finds himself locked in a cage on a caravan traveling through a bright desert.

After a quick evaluation of his situation the man begins to cry and beg for his own freedom like a child who was put in time out annoying his captures to the point that they start throwing things at him to shut him up. Unfortunately for the shady group of bandits the man's cries are heard by a black haired young woman driving by in a two-sitter Dune Buggy, the woman parks her Dune Buggy in front of the caravan stopping it in its tracks. The woman then gets out the Dune Buggy revealing her tall voluptuous figure, long pony-tailed blak hair, and boyish tight clothing. The entire ten men groups of bandits get out of the caravan to confront the woman and are quickly taken in by her beautiful purple eyes, while distracting the bandits with her looks the woman signals the man to prepare himself by throwing a knife with a note attached to it.

The man still busy childishly crying misses this signal and in a split second the woman handily beats down the entire group of bandits and use the big ones body to push over the cage the man is in. the woman them searches the bodies of the bandits until she finds a set of keys that she uses to open the cage of the man who still hasn’t realized that he has been saved. The woman picks up the man still begging for is life and slaps him across the face until he stops crying and then demands a thank you for saving him. The man gets on his knees, bows his head, and thanks the woman in an overly formal way embarrassing her, the man also introduces himself as Fre D. Olm and asks for his savior’s name. The woman tells Fre her name is Lily Petal as she searches the caravan taking anything of value out of it.

With the little treasures of the caravan picked dry Lily gets into her Dune Buggy and prepares to drive off only to see the abandoned dog like look on Fre’s face. Lily decides to give Fre a ride because she felt sorry for him but unfortunately after driving only a few miles the Dune Buggy runs out of gas stranding Lily and Fre in the middle of the desert. Fre begins to panic and cry but is calmed down by a smack to the face delivered by Lily who informs him that he will have to conserve his energy if he wants to survive. Fre and Lily then begin to walk through the tough terrain of the desert but fail to get out the desert before nightfall.

When the moon was visible in the sky along with the stars Lily decides its time for them to take a break and get some sleep but Fre complains that he can’t sleep in such cold weather and proposes that they cuddle together for warmth. Lily becomes flustered by Fres proposal and knocks him out to escape the embarrassment of the situation but then regrets her actions after realizing how cold it is.

The following morning Fre wakes up to see Lily sound asleep hugging him tightly, Fre decides to wake her up but as soon as he reaches his hand out she wakes up on her own and misunderstands Fre’s intentions. Lily freaks out and punches Fre dead center in his face knocking him out just to realize that someone like Fre would probably not have the guts to try to violate her. When Fre regains consciousness he finds himself being piggy-backed by Lily who drops him as soon as she realized he was awake. Fre thanks Lily for caring for him but she refuses his thanks since she was the one that knocked him out in the first place.

The two continue walking through the desert together giving Lily time to organize her thoughts since she has been behaving strangely lately while Fre avidly complains about how hot it is, how tired he is, and how thirsty he is. After some thought Lily decides to blame her strange behavior on the heat and Fre when suddenly they both hear the wild cries of an animal in distress. Fre recognizes this cry and runs towards the location of its origins yelling excitingly “Its Flay, its Flay”, forcing Lily to reluctantly follow him. When Lily catches up to him she finds herself witnessing the strange sight of a giant white eagle fighting off a group of rustlers and winning while someone tries to ride it.

Lily, stunned still by the bizarre situation does nothing as Fre jumps right into the fray only to be beating up by stray hits from both the rustlers and the giant eagle. Soon enough the battle ends with the rustlers running away in retreat allowing Lily to try to ascertain some information on what just happened. Before Fre could explain anything the eagle throws the person on her back far away causing Fre to forget to explain the situation and follow after the person’s body flying through the air. The eagle follows Fre and Lily follows after the both of them, while following the body flying through the air Fre points at the eagle for Lily and says “ This is Flay, my friend”, “You’re friends with a giant eagle” Lily responds.

Fre smiles and nods and the body of the person they were following lands in front of them causing the sand to scatter into the air blinding Fre and Lily. Through the sand Fre and Lily are only able to see the figure off the person getting up, the sand then starts to clear revealing a man with messy black hair about medium length; wearing a plain white bandanna that covers his left eye along with an unzipped long-sleeve black zip-up with no shirt underneath to cover the large scare stretching diagonally from the top of his chest to the bottom of his stomach. The man takes a step forward allowing his rough, torn black trousers to be seen along with his black slippers and white socks; the man continues to walk until his right in Fres face. The man then stares intensely at Fre whith his brown eyes and says “Hi am Dex, who are you?”, despite being scared out of his mind Fre is able to respond with a nervous” I…I’m F…Fre”.

Dex then looks at Flay and asks “So this is your pet, right?” Fre nervously nods his head then Dex points to Lily and asks “Then this is your groupie then?” clearly upsetting Lily to the point where she takes a swing at him only to have him dodge it. Fre gets between Lily and Dex in an attempt to stop them from fighting and instead ends up taking a fist to the side of his face delivered by Lily who was aiming for Dex. Dex starts laughing at Lily calling her “Dumb groupie, dumb groupie” annoying her so much that she pulls out two small, curvy daggers that she had hidden away. Dex jumps back to distance himself from Lily, looks at Fre to say “See you some around bro” , stomps on the ground, and blows himself into the sky with an explosion he caused under his feet, he then continues to use explosions to blow himself through the sky until his eventually out of sight.

Tired and frustrated Lily sits down on the sand and asks Fre “What’s the deal with the giant eagle?” Fre responds by delightfully saying “Like I said before this is Flay, an eagle, she’s been with me for as long as I can remember”.” That’s not what I meant, idiot” Lily yells” I want to know why this particular eagle is so big” she demands, Fre finally understanding the question states” Oh, she’s always been like that”. Realizing that Fre will give her stupid answer no matter what she asks Lily decides to stop asking him questions to save herself from headaches. Fre pets Flays wings while cheerfully laughing to himself, when he finishes he turns to the aggravated Lily holding her head and invites her to get on Flay so the could fly out of the desert.

Lily briefly stares at Fre's worry free face with the eyes of a weary mother and reluctantly accepts his offer; Flay then stoops down allowing Fre and Lily to climb on her and flies into the sky. While in the sky Fre spots a tall stone tower and points Flay in its direction, as Flay gets closer to the tower it appears to get larger, by the time Flay lands on the top of it, it is shown to be three times taller and larger than Fre originally saw. “Wow this thing is huge” Fre exclaims “It definitely is something” Lily agrees as she jumps off Flay and looks around, while looking around Lily spots an entrance to the inside of the tower. Lily opens the hidden door goes inside, Fre tells Flay “stay here and wait for me to come back” then follows Lily into the tower.
