CHAPTER 12

Dex’s face begins to twitch as he holds his head and says “you…you are…you are…you’re-” Lily smacks Dex’s back and he is able to spit out “you’re Justice!” Justice smiles and says “yea, so just call me that from now on”. “Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!” Theta Θ says getting up “you sound a little too kind to these criminals!” he continues, Gamma Γ laughs and says “we’ve all seen this pattern before”. “What’s going on here?” Dex asks as he calms down, Justice pats Dex’s shoulders and says “that’s simple, am recruiting you guys into Nova”. Alpha Α reclines back in his chair then says “I think we all saw that coming” Lily asks “wait, how can you just recruit us into Nova?...scratch that, how about you explain how you’re Justice again?” Justice folds his arms and shrugs his shoulders as he makes a puzzled face and says “I thought everything was already explained, and I really see no problem in recruiting you guys into Nova”.

Lily starts rubbing her temples and says “oh my god…I can’t believe someone as annoying as you exists” Omega Ω laughs a little and explains “don’t worry about it too much he did the same thing to me a couple years back”. “What do you mean he did the same thing to you?” Dex asks Omega Ω who explains “you see a few years ago when I was still Tombstone Justice found me and offered me a position in Nova because and I quote “you have such a cool ability!””.

“He really recruited you because he liked your ability?” Dex asks, Omega Ω nods and says “yep, that’s just the type of guy our leader Justice is”. “So, well you guys join?!” Justice asks with excitement in his voice, Dex thinks for a while then says “honestly am still a bit confused but I see no problem with joining up for now”. “That’s great!” Justice says, he then turns to Lily and asks “so, what about you Lily?” Lily looks around and says “I still have some questions but I will join on one condition”. “What condition is that?” Justice asks, Lily looks down with her face red and says “promise me that you will still be Fre” Justice smiles and says “well am Justice but if you mean I won’t change from the man you know, then-” Justice places his hand on Lily’s head and shows a toothy grin as he says “you got nothing to worry about”.

“Are we done here?” Pi Π asks getting up in a haste, Justice sighs and grows serious as he says “actually…there's something real important I want to run by you all” everybody in the room stop prepping to leave and gives their full attention to Justice. “What I have to say concerns everyone in Nova so Dex and Lily feel free to give me your thoughts on the matter” Justice says with his tone growing more and more serious, Dex and Lily nod their heads and like everyone else in the room they open their ears up wide ready to take in everything Justice says. With everybody focused on him, Justice begins to explain “I want to completely separate Nova from the N.W.P” despite the shocking news everybody is silent and do nothing but continue to listen to Justice explain “in two weeks the N.W.P will have its meeting of division leaders, there I plan to reveal my desire to separate Nova from the rest of them”. Justice looks around at everybody’s stunned, horrified, and confused faces then asks “well, what do you all think?” nobody says a word until Justice repeats “what do you all think?” Delta Δ clears his throat and says “well, I can’t speak for everybody but I personally think it’s a good idea”.

“No way!” Gamma Γ says looking at Delta Δ “you can’t possibly think this is a good idea… it came from Justice of all people” he continues, pointing at Justice who as returned to his usual lost expression. “I hate to admit it but Justice is right, we should separate from the N.W.P” Mu Μ says with his head down as if his own words are making him sick, the rest of the Nova agents nod their heads in agreement with the same expression as Mu Μ. “Then you all agree with me?” Justice asks with a child’s enthusiasm that makes everybody in the room regret their decision and makes Eta Η say “we agreed with Mu Μ who just happened to agree with you”. Eta’s Η statement makes Lily asks “why are you guys so reluctant to agree with Fre…huh I mean Justice?” the room grows silent then everybody just burst out with comments like “his so stupid” “would you agree with that idiot?” “I just don’t like him” “I hate him…so much”.

“Wow guys, tell me how you really feel” Justice says sarcastically “despite what you all think I actually graduated top of my class in high school, so there” he continues with pride in his voice. “Justice, I’ve known you for a while…so I know you didn’t go to high school” Beta Β says making Justice look even dumber than he did before.

“Anyways, since we’re all in agreement let’s just call this meeting to a close” Justice says to end his embarrassment. With that said everybody clears out of the room including Dex and Lily who are escorted by Alpha Α on a tour of the building, Justice leaves the room and heads to the top floor of the building through the elevator. On the top floor Justice meets Omicron Ο, a tall man with long light pink hair with black highlights styled to create bangs that cover the majority of the left side of his face and tied into a ponytail stretching to the middle of his back. Even with his bangs over it, Omicron’s Ο green left eye is visibly seen contradicting his yellow right eye, Omicron Ο wears a small brown fur coat with black tiger strips that barley covers his torso, the coat is skin tight and unzipped revealing Omicron’s Ο well defined but average muscles and six pack, and finally Omicron Ο wears brown monk pants with a long black slash reaching his knees and monk shoes with white socks.

“Oh man, Omicron Ο its been far too long” Justice says with his arms open for a hug, Omicron Ο smiles and refuses Justice hug with a simple jester of his hand that says “stop” and explains “it has been a while but am afraid am not here for fun”. Justice puts his hands down and asks “what is it?” Omicron Ο exhales and says “it’s a prophecy, it goes like this “When the hero returns the stars will fall as the warriors rise through time, if the hero fights the king of the stars and the master of the warriors then ____ will be revived”… am not sure what exactly will be revived but I am sure that you are the hero in the prophecy”.

Justice sighs and says in deep contemplation “a hero, a king, and a master…hmm” Omicron Ο chuckles and says “don’t worry too much about it, the prophecy sounded pretty good, I mean for all we know something really good may be revived”. “Your right, nothing bad ever comes for your prophecies” Justice says cheering himself up, Omicron Ο gets a little sad and says “if only my ability was a bit stronger I would be able to get clearer prophecies”. “Don’t get yourself down buddy, you need to stop thinking so much it only makes you depressed” Justice says patting Omicron’s Ο shoulders, Omicron Ο nods and says “when your right your right Justice…I need to stop thinking so much”. Omicron Ο enters the elevator and just before the doors close he says “oh yea, am meeting your father today to talk about the future only he knows” with no time to respond Justice simply stands in front of the elevator and twitches in fear with his head down as he utters quietly “my…father”.

With nothing else to do Justice enters a large room with only one huge white bed, Justice jumps on the bed and goes to sleep within seconds as night falls. Meanwhile on the hills at edge of the city six ominous figures arrive, they walk in a straight line, the first one in the line is a man on a majestic white horse. The man as long puffy silver hair similar to a lion’s mane tied into a barely noticeable ponytail, the man wears a frilly button down shirt neatly tucked into his black slacks that almost camouflage his dress shoes of the same color. “Seems we’ve almost arrived” the man says with his eyes smugly closed “you sure about this Mount?” another man in the line asks.

Mount opens his eyes revealing its regal gold color and says with base “don’t doubt me Spear, we’ll be there soon enough” Spear the man behind Mount with short orange hair that sits on his head like a squid almost covering his sharp brown eyes, he is wearing a light orange jacket with white strips on the sleeves and a plain white shirt underneath tucked into his blue jeans leading to his black sneakers. Spear chuckles and says in a more formal tone than before “it’s not like doubt you my lord Mount; it’s just that I don’t believe this city has anything of value to us…don’t you agree Staff?”. Staff is a young looking man with black hair styled similar to Spear’s but spikes down on his black relaxed eyes instead of wiggling into then, he wears a black sleeveless shirt striped with thing silver lines that pop out and are tucked into his black kung-fu pants that seem to be attached to his black monk shoes. “Hey! Hey! Hey! Don’t drag me into this mess, I wanted to go conquer challenging places first but no, everybody wants to go where lord Mount wants to” Staff says with a mixture of respect and spite.

As soon as he finish speaking Staff is smacked on the back of the head by a mean eyed man with long blue hair tied into a ponytail and wearing a blue version of Spear’s jacket with a black shirt underneath tucked into his blue jeans and black shoes. “What the heck Dual?!” Staff yells holding the back of his head with both hands “what did I do to deserve that?” he continues. Dual stays quiet and just intensely stares at Staff with his violet eyes making Staff say “sorry…just sorry okay”, Spear bursts into laughter and says “Dual you’ve done it again; you truly are the master of the cold stare”.

The group walks in silence for a while until Spear says “hold on guys” the group stops and Staff asks “what’s up?” Spear looks around and asks “um, wasn’t there six of us a second ago?” Staff shrugs his shoulders and says “yea there's you, me, Mount, Dual, Bow, and Dagger”. Spear nods and says “that’s what I thought…so where is Bow and Dagger?” Staff looks around the bursts out a “your right, there gone!” “oh men this is creepy…what if Bow and Dagger have been ghost all this time?” he continues panicking. Dual smacks Staff on the back of his head again and Spear says “calm down, we’ve known Bow and Dagger for practically centuries now…if they were ghost we would know”. “Don’t worry about them” Mount says flipping his hair “I sent them to secure a proper base of operations” he continues “a base…do we really need all of that?” Staff asks disappointedly “I mean if we want to conquer this world we should attack someplace with a bit more relevance”.

“Wow “relevance”… you’ve been bulking up on your vocabulary Staff” Spear says mockingly, Mount coughs to get Staff’s and Spear’s attention then says “in spite of what you think Prime city holds something of great relevance”. “Oh, and what would that be?” Staff asks only partly interested “it’s should be obvious…Prime city’s only treasure is Justice” Spear gets annoyed and asks “Justice? Don’t tell me this is for your own personal vengeance Mount?” Mount sighs and closes his eyes as he explains “I would be lying if I said it wasn’t personal…but at the same time if we wish to conquer this world then Justice must be eliminated”.

On the other end of the city, in a thick forest, ten shadowy figures close in on the city “we just got back on earth and this crappy city is the first place we’re going?” a manly voice in the group complains. At the head of the group manly figure seen shacking in exciting while clutching his fist says in an intimidating voice “this city is where that trash Justice is…I can smell it” the man starts shaking more excitedly as his eyes glows red and he says in a snarling voice “yes…I can’t wait to crush that fool between my fangs!”. The man laughs madly into the night fully revealing his sharp beast like teeth “just you wait Justice, my revenge will be a bloody one!” the man says as he stops laughing and continues closing in on the city. The next morning in Nova HQ, Justice is woken up by a man with short, spiky green hair that points down and blues eyes that would be dazzling if not for the dull look on the man’s face.

The man wears a long green poncho that completely covers his short stature from the neck down to his black sandals, “I must be dreaming” Justice says with his eyes opening and closing in a daze “there’s no way Kappa Κ is actually here” he continues stretching his hand out to touch Kappa’s Κ face. Before Justice could reach Kappa Κ a ball of hot water forms on top of Justice’s head and falls down waking him up completely with its scolding hot temperature. Justice holds his face and rolls on the floor in pain screaming like a child “water well boiled over a hundred degrees Celsius, only Kappa Κ can do this so perfectly” Justice says getting up still in pain.

Kappa Κ takes a breath and asks in an uninterested tone “your Justice right?” Justice stops holding his face and says “come on, we’ve been friends for years now and you still can’t recognize me”. Kappa Κ sighs and looks at Justice with a look that screams “disgust” even though the dull look on his face barely changes “first of all we’re not friends” Kappa Κ explains “second, all you humans look alike to me so don’t expect me to tell you all apart” he continues as balls of boiling water appear around him. Justice sits down on his bed and asks “why are you even here?” Kappa Κ looks directly into Justice eyes and asks “do you remember what you promised me when I agreed to join Nova?” Justice puts his hands together in a jester of thought as he reveals a fear filled smirk. In a serious tone Justice explains “I remember the promise…“at any time if you find me as an unworthy leader, feel free to kill me”…that was the promise”.

“It’s good that you remember…I didn’t want to explain myself” Kappa Κ says walking closer to Justice who just bows his head down “Justice, do you even want to live?” Kappa Κ ask with the balls of water coming together to form a scythe that hangs over Justice head. Justice shakes his head no and explains “I…I honestly don’t…this pain…this power…this responsibility…I was able to escape for a while as Fre…but even as him I knew…I knew there were things only I could do”. Tears begins to flow out of Justice eyes as he looks up at Kappa Κ and says “so you see I can’t die…not yet…not until my duties as “The World’s Champion” are fore filled”. The water scythe evaporates as Kappa Κ turns around and leaves the room by saying “pathetic”.
