The movie we watched was absolutely depressing. I've never cried that much while watching a movie in my entire life. In fact I don't think I've ever cried at all while watching a movie. Well I guess it's true what they say: first time for everytime.

When the movie ended, it was about 11:30 pm. I immediately fell asleep after Courtney and I stole most of Brittany's bras and put them in the freezer. I shouldn't have been surprised that I would endure yet another surprise.

"Hey, haven't seen you in a while," I greeted Jack.

"Well I always like to keep the ladies wanting more. Plus I don't come unless I really need to talk to you or gain information. Unfortunately this is a strictly business encounter so we can't fool...much," Jack informed me.

I rolled my eyes. "I'll try not to attack you. So what's up?"

"Well this may sound weird and I wouldn't ask you to talk about this unless I really needed to know but could you tell me about that whole situation with Ricky," Jack asked.

My heart sunk a tiny bit and I swallowed the lump in my throat. Even in a dream it hurt to think about that awful night that happened a less than a week ago. I chose to play dumb. "What do you mean?"

He played along. "You know that night with your boyfriend. Where you went upstairs with him and stuff. Could you pick up the story from there?"

I turned away from his inquiring gaze. I noticed that we were back in that field, surrounded in nature's beautiful colors and scents. 'Breathe in and out, breathe in and out. It's just a dream, he can't force you to talk.'

"I can still read your mind as long as we're in dream mode," I heard a voice in my head say. My head snapped back to Jack and I knew he didn't open his mouth for once.

"How'd you do that," I asked, curiously.

"I'll tell you how I did, if you tell me what happened," he bargained.

"No deal."

'Look Candy, we need to talk about this. It's of the up most importance,' he thought in my head.

"No, I don't want to talk about it ok?" I screamed. The field and dream started to shake, colors blurring.

"Calm down Candy," Jack told me. Almost a plea. Wait a minute...

"I get it now. The last time I saw you in a dream. You can only control my dreams if my feelings are rational. Isn't that right?" I asked, yelling. A whirlwind was starting to appear, blowing my hair everywhere.

"No Candy. You don't understand, I have to protect you. Please don't do this," Jack screamed over the wind. I watched as him as he got sucked into the whirlwind, still shouting for me to calm down and not to do this.

I woke up, panting and sweaty on Brittany's bed. I sat up and fanned myself trying to cool down. Brittany and Courtney were sleeping on the floor. I eased my way out of bed, and walked towards the dresser where a big mirror stood opposite of the bed. My morning bed head was definitely going to be a problem to fix if Brittany didn't have a flat iron, a good conditioner, a good dandruff shampoo, blow dryer, sturdy brush.... My eyes drifted towards the clock's reflection in the mirror. 15: 7. That's technically not even the right way to write military time unless--

"Shit," I yelled. "Wake up guys we have school. School starts in less than forty minutes. It's 7:21"

"Crap," Brittany yarned. "You guys can borrow some of my clothes, and hair supplies are in the green closet."

"Oh my gosh, can't we just ditch?" Courtney whined. Brittany and I shot her a look that answered that question.

We showered, dressed, and fixed our hair in just eighteen minutes which was record time for me. Brittany figured out what Courtney and I did, and left a bra on the heater to thaw as she showered. She promised to get us back for that one. I got my duffel bag which luckily contained my finished homework.

"Anyone bring their car?" Courtney asked. Brittany and I shook our heads. "Well we're screwed. I don't care if I get detention for being late, I am not running and getting all sweaty."

"Did-o," Brittany chimed in.

I sighed. They had a point, and we had no method of transportation to take us to school. Taxis rarely passed by these streets and I was definitely not calling my mom. She was most likely sleeping anyway. I texted Ricky to come pick us up.

Two minutes later, the sleek black sportscar stopped in front of Courtney's house. Ricky got out of the car, wearing a white t-shirt that showed off his abs and a pair of faded gray jeans. I heard Courtney whistle in approval and stand up a little straighter, popping out her chest. I rolled my eyes. Brittany was silent.

"Hey," Ricky greeted me with his sweet smile. He gave me a hug I didn't return. He smelled like french vanilla. "Picked you up a donut on the way." He pointed to the Dunkin Donuts bag in the front seat.

Courtney cleared her throat. As if just realizing it wasn't just the two of us, Ricky turned his attention to the girl.

"Hey," Ricky said, turning his radiant smile onto Courtney.

Courtney gave an involuntary gasp and replied, "Hey yourself." She gave a rather seductious smile in return. A little overly friendly for a girl who has a boyfriend herself...

"Ricky meet my friends Courtney and Brittany. 'Kay now that introductions are over let's get to school," I said hurriedly.

We all piled in and Ricky started driving according to the speed limit. Interesting. Just when it seemed everything was going smoothly as I munched on my delicious jelly donut, Brittany decided to start a conversation.

"So are you two dating," Brittany asked.
