The knight lives on

Poetry By: Daga

A poem I wrote for my English class.

Shadows dance silently in the nighttime,

Swaying gently to natures quiet sounds.

Crickets chirp, leaves flutter, clock tower chimes.

Midnight strikes, through the town, silver hooves pound.

Bolting through brick-lain roads, it begins to rain.

In the coming of the dawn, he takes flight,

Bold and magical with wind in his mane.

Chestnut eyes seek the girls' beloved knight.

Her knight was a dream, for 'twas a ghost town.

His secret passion found, the fine knight fled,

Love and talent of music scorned, brought down.

The story was told, though a tear never shed.

On light feathers he flies, to return home.

The ghost he once was is now free to roam.
