For Valhalla!

Poetry By: IwanMacBride
Fantasy

A spur of the moment poem about vikings. :D Living in the old Norse lands of Shetland, i find it hard to resist. Please not, the last few lines, i ran out of momentum, so i made stuff up :)

For Valhalla!

Today, we charge!

For our place in Valhalla.

May we find what we want,

And drink forever.

Our helmeted heads

will shine in the sun.

Our brave battle tales

will be sung by our sons.

The army sings

to Odin and Thor.

Hear our beserkers

thunder and roar.

May we plunder,

even when we fall.

And for ever and ever,

sing our viking songs.

Hack! Hack!

Stab! Stab!

We shall fight till the bitter end,

Be that ours or our nemisis.

Floating up to the clouds,

music resounds,

along with drinking and chatter.

Forever alone,

even while the Valkyries fly.

Nothing to do,

apart from drinking the sky.
