My camera is held steady,
Poised at the oak tree,
And I see things,
Things meant for me.
The sun shines through the leaves,
It sends buttery sparks,
All I see are faeries,
On their journeys they embark.
A clump of trees stand together,
Protecting something,
I see it is a monster,
But really, it is nothing.
The late autumn leaves scatter the ground,
Elves jump around underneath,
But you cannot feel it,
When they nip you with their teeth.
My world is not like yours,
With your hurt and pain,
Mine is filled with happiness,
Laughter, joy and gain.
But once the camera is put down,
And the disappointing life sets in,
I trundle back home, camera hanging weakly,
I will come back to my world again.
