Creeping through the forbidden dark forest,

A clearing she sees and to it she runs.

At last a clear space to move and be free.

But what pray is that? So strong is the wind.

So black and so fine, so regal and bold.

He folds his great wings, and tosses his head,

She runs to the tree and hides in the dark,

And arrow is knocked and then she takes aim.

A sudden bright light, she falls on her back.

A voice in her head tells her to back down,

Pegasus rears up and she comes forwards.

A glimmer in his eyes, tells he's no threat,

She prowls forward and to his head she goes.

He reaches out and nuzzles her fine hand.

Wait, this mighty beast, so humble and strong,

Not fierce at all but to her so kind.

She climbs on his back, and up through the sky.
