She does gracefully sail through
the misty sea of pale blue
a pearl clutched in her hand.

A mermaid wrought from my dreams
traveling to where sunlight gleams
and she comes to rest on the sand.

She carefully peers at her treasure
rolling it slowly, trying to measure
the manner of thing, she has found.

Not sure of what it is she does behold
she extends her hand, loosens her hold
and lets it fall to the ground.
