THE SEVENTH IDOL
PART I
The sand imprinted, the dust thrown high, his footsteps proceeded, returninghim home, his long journey almost at it's end. Paul was his name, an agent of the Seventh Idol his purpose, exiled seven years ago for a betrayal so low. *
His leaders, his masters, the rulersof the world, a world contained within the seven remaining towers, each, and Idol to the world lost somany millennia ago, two destroyed, a lesson to those who know. Seven remain, whilst two lay fallen,a mountain range the only sign of their existence. *
As Paul arrived, bypassing thefallen, he used his sacred touch to open the ungovernable door. As light from within beamed out a sunder, it was broken by the shape of his figure. Standing a shade over six feet tall, for a brief moment, there was very little light at all. *
Once within his found his place, his haunts and his face. The vast and mighty city had grown in his absence. What he knew as a green, horticultural haven, now a market for all things heathen. The earthly leader of this place, the enemy of Paul, was waiting for him, aware of Paul's return he watched, plotting his defence. Aiden, the appointed master of the third and forth Idols had something of Paul's, and feared that it would be his own undoing. *
For ninety days, Paul had waited. Lust filled nights, entertained by his now friend, the lady of the night. Cassie had become his rock, his companion, his link to a life lost so many years ago. But she too, was under the gaze of Aiden, as the pair fell in love. *
Paul was waiting; waiting in this den of depravity for his oldest friend, and betrayer. The exiled agent of the Idol had no friends left, and only the vague hope of regaining his standing. But his time was nearer than he suspected, as Elea walked through his door, seeming unprotected...
