the dim candles filled the room

the ladies in their lovely gowns

the sirs in their finest silk

paper and feathers

panted on the faces of everyone

but I can see the eyes behind the mask

those captivating gleaming orbs

enchanting sapphires

met the muddy rings

through the holes in my fake face

you don't know me

and a shame I don't know you

if you take my hand

can these masks later slip away

the fine clothes touch the ground

brush the make up away

skin the only thing to touch

but stay away

stray far from me

cause once I have you in my grasp

to Casanova, no one

dare say no
