Thunderous Rainstorm

Poetry By: Romano

the soothing effects of a quiet storm with passion from beneath

Waking up to clear skies and sun full of ray
Who'd think today would have been the day
Did the weatherman not forecast this
Or was it something that I miss
And here I didn't even bother to carry rain gear
As the day goes by the clouds roll in
Slowly moving with a breeze so thin
Watching from a window I see lighting from far off
Soon after thunder hit with a loud cough
Just to think I called into work ill
Should've known I'd be in bed with a headache still
Every so often there's a quiet in the storm
As if it's passing or moving on
Shortly after thunder shakes as if in an earthquake
Lighting streams across the room beautifully
Sounds of the rain beat passionately
As we lay there in intimate form
Who'd think today would have been an unsuspected thunderstorm
