The beast of the night

Poetry By: ShadaStorm120
Fantasy

Only on a full moon you fear these creatures, and that is because, it is only on a full moon when these creatures are lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce on their pray, and that is why... they are, 'the beast of the night.'

Lurking where you never know

They are the killers in the dark

The monsters in the shadows

Only being recognized at night

With their dark form

And glowing red eyes

But before that

The full moon has to rise

And that is when it begins

The ritual of the month

The curse of the full moon

On all fours she starts to change

As her bones twist

And her hands turn to claws

The usual agonizing pain is felt

For hours until she finishes

This pain does not stop

But then

As an ever hungry creature

She sets off for food

Showing her teeth

And showing her claws

Striking fear into her pray

As she pounces

Blood pours from her victims

Being torn and shredded

The gruesome sight

Can never be unseen

This is always her night

When the full moon is out

But when daytime

She is just like us

With a secret

As she is

The beast of the night

And only the night
