Kissing Water

The happiness of the jungle,
Is one beyond compare,
The joy the laughs the excitement,
And even the humid air,

Yet if you listen closely,
You can hear it too,
The magic, the beauty, the mysticism,
And even how the flowers grew,

But you aren’t listening close enough,
For even I know,
You have to listen carefully,
To hear what the elephants know,

Keep on trying, don’t give up,
Our journeys not yet through,
So come and stand close to me,
And I’ll listen hard with you

Wait… I can hear it,
The tooting the laughing the glee,
I know you can hear it too,
So come travel to the waterfall with me,

Don’t fall behind or I’ll leave you,
This is such a rare sight,
To see the elephants doing this,
Right before night,

The journey was long,
The journey was hard,
I can hear the water now,
Be quiet or else we will be heard,

We peaked in silently,
And what a sight it was,
To see the elephant sitting there,
Just the way he does,

And it was just like my father said before he died,
“Go to the place where the elephants go,”
“And you will surely find,”
“Something beyond beauty,”

So there I was looking.
For the beauty my father said,
And then the elephant seemed to stop,
 And looked at me instead,

I felt his eyes upon me,
So big and grand and huge,
And saw something amazing,
A tear fell from the elephant’s eye and into the water below,

The ripples and waves seemed to keep on moving,
Until a ghostly figure of my father arose,
He was made of water,
Beauty beyond compare,

He walked to me slowly and gave me a hug,
When I looked into his watery eyes I knew this was him,
And right before me he broke down,
All the way even his crown,

I was tired and thirsty so I drank,
And as you can clearly see,
Kissing water was the sweetest thing,
That ever happened to me.
