Running with Wolves

Poetry By: VJAMRITA

Wolves are like human... their emotions and everything... I love Maggie stiefvater... She REALLY brought out the perfect wolf in her shiver trilogy

Running with Wolves

There was a break in the Barbed wires.

The Barbed wires,a constant reminder of my

Slavery.

I made a run for it,

for my Freedom.

I guess, that night was preordained

by Fate.

There were a billion diamonds in the night Sky

and the Moon lay waked.

It definitely understood my plight.

I escaped.Nobody took notice for a while.

I ran wildly into the Wood,

my hands and knees bleeding.

It was when I decided to rest that

I saw flares and heard voices

calling out my name and …gunshots.

My poor heart thudded in its cage .

If I was found , I'd surely die because I was

never supposed to escape.

Freedom came at such a high cost.

Gunshots.

I ran,not bothering to keep silent.

The voices were getting nearer

As I ran I realized I was not

running alone.

Ghostly shadows ran on all fours with me.

My stomach clenched

with fear.

Wolves.

They didn't mind me.I ran with them

And they ran with me.

They finally led me to a clearing,

I couldn't hear the humans anymore.

They turned to look at me I saw

humans eyes in wolf skulls.

There were humans around me.

Humans without guns.

I heard a commanding voice say in my head,

"Thou shall not hurt us and we shall not hurt thee"
