Sniper: Looks like the idiot duo lost.
Figure: Well then, there shouldn’t be anything in your line of fire now. Take them out.
He gets Oscar in the crosshair for his sniper rifle and gets ready to fire.
Oscar stumbles forward, completely oblivious to the fact that he is being aimed at. He tries to walk over towards Sarah, who is coming towards him. Suddenly, Rido bursts from the ground.
Rido: You…bastard…don’t you think for a second this is over!
He jumps up into the air, just as Sniper fires his bullet. He gets right in the path of the bullet. A long stream of blood flows from his body in the trajectory of the bullet. His expression changes to one of absolute shock. Oscar watches with wide eyes as Rido drops to the ground, a stream of blood following him.
Sniper: Oh, damnit…I accidentally hit idiot number two…I didn’t realize he was still alive…well not anymore he’s not.
Figure: Oh well, these things happen. Not like he was important.
Sniper: Well this one may come as more of a surprise to you then.
Sniper: It seems Lars’s illusion has been dropped.
Sniper: It is surprising that Lars would lose. We seem to have underestimated this group. Well, they’ll be two less in just a second.
Sniper fires his shot, but it is reflected by a bubble that appears around Oscar. The bullet is sent back towards Sniper’s tower.
He jumps out of the way, the bullet screams past him, but is stopped by some force an inch away from the figure. The bullet drops slowly to the floor.
Figure: I suppose it won’t be long before someone reaches here…I better take my position…keep watch and try not to die.
Oscar and Sarah hide inside a nearby building. The building is mostly destroyed by Oscar’s battle with Rido.
Oscar: We should be safe in here until Melanie and Iricryo have taken out that sniper.
Sarah: If they haven’t done it by now, there’s a good chance they are no longer alive. We may be on our own, and with your broken arm we won’t stand much a chance against the rest of these guys. Our best bet is to wait long enough for me to recover my energy and then make a run for where we entered. We already cleared all the traps in that direction so shouldn’t be too hard.
Sarah: I don’t think it’s worth risking it.
Oscar: Since when are you so afraid? What ever happened to your confidence before?
Sarah: I just came here to get revenge on that guy, Guki, and make as big of a mess for the Spidersilks I could.
Sarah: Yeah, it’s because of him I was determined to get revenge on the Spidersilks. Things really went to hell for me because of him.
Sarah: Me and my friends caught wind of an auction being held here in Drywood, where they were supposedly going to have available some of the best magic armor in the game. Me and my two best friends really lucked out, all three of us having won tickets to this game’s contest. We were all going to team up together to assure us winning the game, and split the prize money after we won. Of course, Drywood turned out to be just one giant trap.
The scene changes to Sarah and two female friends running desperately through Drywood. A man behind them pushes past them, trying desperately to run. A bullets pierces straight through his head, and he drops dead.
Sarah (Narration): We never stood any chance. And it was Guki and his previous partner who had come to take us out.
Guki and a young, dark haired, angry looking man drop from the building and confront the three.
A lot of fireworks fly as the three desperately try to hit Guki and his partner with fire spells, but they avoid them easily. All three of them turn desperately to run. Guki hits one of them in the back and sends her flying to the ground. His partner lands on the other with a sword through the back, and she also goes down. Guki lands in front of Sarah, right in her path. She stumbles back, tripping and landing on her back. Guki’s partner walks up behind her, sword raised. She yells, and in desperation aims at his feet with a fire spell. He jumps in surprise, and as Guki tries to progress on her, she hits a wall with an upheaval of earth. The wall crashes down on both her and Guki’s partner.
Sarah (Narration): I didn’t realize it at the time, but during the struggle I killed Guki’s partner. I wasn’t concerned with that, it looked like I had died and that was enough to get him to leave me. I found my friends where they had dropped.
The friend who had been impaled by the sword lies completely dead. Sarah leaves her and goes to the other friend, whose face is covered in blood.
Friend: You left us…and it was you idea to come here…idiot…probably did this all on purpose…
Friend: You wanted the prize money…so you teamed with this group and led us here…that’s the only reason you could still be alive…I hope you choke on your prize money…
Sarah (Narration): I hid until they reopened the gates to let in more victims and fled as quickly as I could. I’ve been training since then to get revenge on them. My friends think I betrayed them … I don’t even know if I will have those friends to go back to in the real world now…
The flashback ends. Oscar and her are now sitting across from each other in the building.
Oscar: Of course they’re still going to be your friends!
Oscar: You can’t lose a real friend over a game! She was probably just a little upset at the time, but I assure you when you get back into the real world, you can all be friends again.
Sarah: You really think so, huh? Maybe…
Oscar: You have to learn how to count on your friends. Like I count on Iricryo and Melanie, and I trust them to take care of that sniper. Trust that they will understand.
Sarah: You’re really good at instilling confidence, you know. You certainly seem to be a good person to keep as a friend.
Oscar: Well you’re my friend too, now, you know!
Oscar: Of course! You’ve saved me twice already. People don’t go through a fight like this without becoming friends.
Sarah: Well then, guess I just can’t leave you here, if you’re my friend. If you’re going to sit here waiting for Iricryo and Melanie, guess I’m waiting it out too.
Melanie: Now we just need to figure out on which side the entrance to the tower is. Then we can storm upstairs and take out that sniper. With him out of the way, rescuing Ira should be far easier.
Kester: I’m afraid I can’t allow that. You see, I captured her, and its my responsibility to see she remains captured.
Melanie: Then what are you doing here? This doesn’t look like where you would store the prisoners.
Kester: Of course, otherwise what would be the fun? Turns out the basement of a sniper tower makes an excellent prison.
Kester: I told you because it doesn’t matter whether you know or not! There is no way you are going to be able to rescue them! No one has ever beaten me!
Outside the gate, Rook’s swings his sword with one arm against Dylan. Dylan blocks it with her dagger, bracing it with both hands to push back Rook’s assault. She leaps backwards and docks down, trying to stab Rook in the leg. Rook leaps upward, making good distance off the ground, and comes crashing back down with his sword. Dylan jumps out of the way just in time to avoid the blade, and it splinters the ground as it impacts it.
Dylan: I am impressed. You fight really well for someone who has only one arm. Well, you certainly pass my test.
Dylan: I decided to tell you. You see, my job is just to attack people fleeing to the gate once their already trapped inside the city. But I can’t actually open the gate without the key possessed by our leader.
Dylan: Well the group inside didn’t even use the gate to enter. The blasted a hole through the wall in the back of the town. If you go around, you will find their entrance. Have fun.
She leaps up the wall and returns to her position on the top of the gate.
Rook looks at her suspiciously, then turns and begins to walk around the town.
Dylan laughs and takes off her Spidersilk necklace, playing with it amusedly.
Dylan: It is about time that the Spidersilks finally came to an end.
