Oscar stands in a ready to fight stance. Sniper aims his rifle in front of him towards Oscar.
Sniper: At this range, I must make every shot count.
Oscar lowers his fighting stance slightly, then looks concernedly at Sniper.
Oscar: Now that I think about it, this doesn’t feel fair…fighting someone who fights at long range this close up…
Sniper: It’s alright, let me even the odds.
His rifle’s scope disappears into the rifle, and the rifle opens up and reveals to thinner, separate barrels.
Iricryo: You…you planned this…didn’t you?
Meso: Ira is a valued member of our team here. We would never trap enough people in our town without someone to continually lore them in. That’s her job. Every time a different story, to avoid suspicion. This one was particularly amusing, don’t you think?
Iricryo glares at them, clutching his rapier and getting it ready for a fight.
Meso: Now, now, there’s no need for fighting, is there? Actually, I had Ira bring you here because I wanted to tell you how impressed I am. It’s been awhile since anyone has caused this much destruction to my organization. I’d like to offer you and…whoever’s still alive out of your group to become full members of the Spidersilks.
Meso: Besides, I have a feeling I have quite a few spots to fill now.
Iricryo: Oh I see…we killed your old guys so you figure you’ll just replace them with us.
Meso: Exactly…and since you’re obviously stronger than the people you killed, that means my organization will be more powerful than it ever was before.
Ira: Come on, it’s great. We kill many players, get loot and experience, and just kind of ease our way till the end of the game, when we are sure to collect the prize.
Iricryo: Well…thanks for the offer, but…I’m a rare hunter, I need to go where the rares are, not be stuck in one place. And I’m pretty sure the rest of them won’t be crazy about the offer either…so…thanks but…no…I’ll just…let myself out now.
Meso: It was a good idea…but I suppose if that’s how you really feel…
Oscar is dodging bullets raining at him wildly, finally taking cover, crouching behind a low section of wall. Bullets rain overhead for a moment, the stop. Sniper looks over, the barrels of his rifle smoking, lowering it for a second.
Oscar: Ok, I wasn’t expecting this…what the hell do I do now…
Sniper: Well if you’re going to try to hide…
One of the barrels of his gun gleams, and fires a blazing shot from it. Oscar’s wall explodes on impact, sending Oscar flying forward. He lands on his hands, and rolls forward back on his feet just in time to dash out of the way of more rapid fire.
He sprints around Sniper, desperately trying to avoid the fire from his rifle.
He charges straight forward at Sniper. Sniper looks shocked for a second, his rifle gleams and fires a blazing shot at Oscar. Oscar blocks it with his gloves, but is sent flying back a few feet from the impact. He lands on his feet and charges forward again. Sniper fires rapidly at Oscar. Oscar leaps in the air just in time, hovers over Sniper for a second, then kicks Sniper hard across the face as he lands. Sniper goes flying backwards, landing hard in the rubble from the wall he exploded earlier. His eyes are open wide, looking up at the sky, but his expression is blank, KOed.
Iricryo: Maybe I was a little hasty before, you know, now that I think about it…it really isn’t fair for me to make that kind of decision by myself, I should…you know, talk it over with the others before I say anything for sure…so you know, just let me out and I’ll find them and discuss this with them.
Meso: I’m very disappointed, recruiting members after what your group has done sure won’t be easy, I was really hoping you would join us.
Iricryo: Hey, come on, let’s not be hasty here…
Meso moves closer to him, calmly and confidently. As he approaches, the locked door behind Iricryo bursts open in a tremendous display of force, and Rook stands in the doorway.
Meso: I heard there was Militia in town, didn’t actually believe it till I saw it with my own eyes. Did you come alone?
Iricryo: This guy’s the leader here…be careful…
Rook: Oh, I didn’t expect to find him this fast. Guess I can put an end to these Spidersilks faster than I thought.
Meso: Willix is going to here a complaint from me for this…ah well, I’m sure your death will send a message to all Militia not to interfere with us.
Rook: Iricryo, get out of here, you’ll only get in way.
He bolts out the door. Meso motions to Ira.
She runs past Rook, Rook motioning to try to stop her, but is cut off by Meso, who grabs him by the shoulder.
Meso: How about we take this outside.
An electrical field forms around Meso, electrocuting Rook as he holds him. Rook is sent flying backwards, out the door and rolling helplessly down the stairs. He rolls back, gets on his feet, and leaps off the rest of the stairs and Meso follows him.
Rook: What kind of power was that? It didn’t even come out of his body, but somehow it surrounded his person.
Meso lands next to Rook, smiling at him. Rook charges at him with his sword, swinging it down at Meso. It gets stopped in half-swing by an electrical force. Rook is electrocuted for a moment, then jumps back.
Meso: It’s an electric field generator, you like it? I designed it myself. The crafting system in this game is so…astounding, I found myself crafting far more than I did training or relying on…physical abilities. As I matter of fact, every trap in this town was designed and created by me. And so far, no one has managed to defeat my little… gadgets.
Rook: One little electrical field isn’t going to save you.
Meso: No, I plan on beating you with one of my more fun toys.
He pushes a button on his side. The ground shakes and stirs, and eventually splits apart from beneath Rook. A gundam-looking robot the size of a building rises up from under the ground. Its eyes glow and it begins to move.
Meso: This is Mecha-Meso, since I don’t fight he fights in place. Enjoy.
Mecha-Meso’s arms twirl, and from its wrists two pieces of a sword form. It combines the pieces together and forms a giant glowing metallic sword.
It swings its giant sword down at Rook, who leaps just barely out of the way. The ground quakes and shatters, smashing apart into rubble where the sword hits.
Rook: This damn game can’t decide if it’s fantasy or sci-fi based. Damn lazy designers.
Oscar is examining Sniper’s body, waving his hands in front of his face.
Oscar: Yeah, he’s defiantly knocked-out…and from one shot too. He must have really expected to never be hit.
He looks into the distance in the town, and sees the Mecha-Meso, rising up among the buildings.
Oscar: Well, if that isn’t a sign of where to head next, I don’t know what is.
He runs off in that direction. As he goes, he passes by Sarah.
Oscar: Where the hell have you been? Come on, let’s go!
Iricryo: Well, that can’t be good.
Ira lands next to him. She has her bow out, and it is aimed and ready at Iricryo.
Ira: You left so fast, and here I thought you were here to help me.
Iricryo: You deceptive bitch, this whole pain in the ass experience is your fault.
Ira: And now I believe my feelings are hurt. You really are a brutish man.
Iricryo: I’m ready for a fight now, and I’m going to make you pay for all of this.
