Melanie: Iricryo, you’re actually going to…make a suggestion?
Iricryo Well if we’re running from the Militia, I know the world’s greatest hiding place!
Iricryo: You have any better ideas?
Rook: I’m not running anywhere! I’m going straight in that city and am going to force a confession out of Willix!
Katherine: But, Mr. Rook…there’s a meeting…all the mayors are meeting with the High Council, it would be suicide to go in there now.
Melanie: Listen, as much as I hate to admit it, but Iricryo is right. Trust this from someone with experience. At the moment, everyone in the Militia is going to be hunting us. We need to lay low, at least for a little while. Eventually they’ll stop looking and we will be able to move about more openly.
Iricryo: It may actually be beneficial to your goals as well, Oscar. I want to go to where the game’s best rare hunters hide-out. I’m sure they would be able to find plenty of rare items to supercharge you for your fight with the High Council.
Rook: I suppose I don’t see any other choice, at least at the moment.
Iricryo: Near Grandi. The actual location is known only by a select few.
Melanie: Well we can’t stay here much longer talking about it, we’ll be seen.
Rook: Katherine, you have to stay here. I need someone to keep an eye on Willix. I’ll need reports every once in a while.
Katherine: Alright, if you say so, Mr. Rook.
Maggie: “It’s not clear which side would win.” And we just let them get away with saying that?
Timmy: According to my readings, the mayors are quite strong. It would still be a tough battle.
Phil-domo: Probably, but a war with them would still leave us vulnerable. For now, let’s keep the peace, and let them believe what they want to believe.
Phil-domo: Tell everyone we meet outside the gates in 20 minutes. Now that this is out of the way, we have work to do.
Melanie: We probably shouldn’t be on the path like this. We’re going to be spotted.
Rook: There’s only one path that goes directly from Lecithin to Grandi, and it goes straight up a mountain, and there aren’t many ways around it unless we want to more than triple our travel time. We will simply take the path and prepare for any battles we have to fight because of it.
Sarah: Speaking of which, there’s some guys coming up on us, fast.
She’s looking behind them. They all turn and see 3 guys ride up on horseback. They catch up to them and surround them. They all wear generic plate armor and carry long lances.
Horseman 1: You were right, here they are.
Horseman 2: I knew I saw them leave Lecithin heading this way.
Horseman 3: The infamous Spidersilk gang, I wonder what rewards exactly the Militia will give for you?
Sarah: You know, I really hate being compared to those lowlifes.
Rook: We are not the Spidersilks, but we are wanted because of them. If you want to die now, try and collect the reward on us. But I am not in a good mood, recently being declared an outlaw by the organization I helped found, so if you insist on fighting us, I will show you no mercy and you will all be dead within the first minute of the fight.
Horseman 1: Hey, don’t be that arrogant with us! We were going to try to take you alive, but your mouth just earned you all death, Spidersilks!
Sarah: Rook, you better not try to take all of them! They called me a Spidersilk, I will kill them for that!
Oscar: I want to test something, too, Rook! Let me fight one!
Rook: Fine, just be quick about it.
Horseman 2: You…you really think it will be that easy? I’ll show you!
His horse turns towards Rook, then charges at full speed, lance aimed towards him. Rook sidesteps the charge, then swings his sword down at the passing horse, removing its head. The rider goes flying off it, and is cut in half by Rook as he flies.
Both remaining horsemen charge at Rook. One is knocked off by Oscar, who jumped in the air and removed him with a kick. The other is blown off by a fireball to his side.
Sarah: How dare you call me a Spidersilk! Illumination! Lightning Storm!
Horseman 3: I won’t let you cast anything.
A cloud forms overhead, and a countless number of lightning bolts stream in rapid succession, all striking Horsemen 3. He drops over, burnt to a crisp.
Horseman 1: Damnit, who knew they were so strong?
He jumps away from Oscar and lands on his horse and begins to ride away.
He crouches down like he saw Rido do before, then leaps high in the air.
Oscar: Let’s see if I can get this thing to actually work this time.
He flies through the air in a high-arc, leaving behind him a white stream that forms the shape of a crescent moon. It hits the fleeing horsemen, and the horseman is sent flying across the ground, helplessly.
Oscar: Now to finish him, I’ll try one more thing!
Nothing happens, and he falls face-first helplessly to the ground. Horsemen 1 picks him up from the ground and lifts him into the air.
He is sliced across the back before is able to finish by Rook, and drops dead to the ground.
Rook: In battle is not a good time to test moves!
Oscar: I don’t understand…I tried to use my gloves with the attack…but nothing happened.
Iricryo: We’ll have more fights before we reach Grandi, I’m sure, so be ready. And don’t do anything stupid again, Oscar.
Oscar: I’m going to figure this out eventually…
All 12 members of the High Council are gathered outside the city gates. Phil-domo is handing them sheets.
Phil-domo: Your instructions. We have work to do to further insure our power in this game. So we’ll be divided into groups of two for these tasks. Report back to me when these tasks are completed.
Austin W: Groups of two…what is this, high school?
William: Who do you think we are to be giving us orders, anyway!
Phil-domo: The guy who has a plan. Now if you really want to win, get over your personal egos just long enough to get these accomplished, alright?
Phil-domo: I have paired the groups based on abilities that complement each other. These decisions are final, so I suggest you at least try to make friends with your partner.
Timmy: Please don’t pair me with Osmond…please don’t pair me with Osmond.
Jack: Looks like we’re together, buddy!
James: Probably just paired us together cause we’re friends in real life as well.
Jack: Whatever the reason, we’re going to have a good time!
Kyler: William, wonderful, I will have a lot of time to try to find what angers him so and try to produce calm.
Austin W: I have to be paired with the mutt! Why!
Austin K: Stop calling me a mutt, you irate, arrogant twig!
Jaime: Ryan, good, not the worse pairing I could have got with this group. Plus he’s the General, so he’ll be busy enough to stay out of my way most of the time.
Ryan: Jaime! You’re going to start designing equipment for all my troops right away.
Maggie: Guess that leaves me with you?
Phil-domo: I have use for your abilities. I will explain more later.
Phil-domo: Also, Willix said these men are now highly wanted by the Militia. Why it doesn’t affect us, bringing these men down could improve our relations with them. So while it is not your assignment, consider these targets of opportunity. If you see them, you kill them.
