"Arghhh-Let-me-go!" I scream aggressively as I fail to free myself from the shadow men.
One minute I was sleeping peacefully beside my boyfriend and the next I'm been dragged forcefully through Fommer wood, which is known as - The enchanted forest - to the shadow men.
Once they finally reach their destination, the shadow men let me go. They wickedly fade to nothing and allow me to fly at high speed through the entrance to the cave. I soon come to a sudden stop when I slam into the wall that is in line with the opening I unwillingly travelled through.
It's dark; I can just make out large rocks that look as though they have grown out of the ground and the damp walls which aren't very high. The height of the cave is not much higher than me maybe a foot or two more. I stumble toward the entrance and attempt to limp out of it and make my escape but I can't - there is some sort of wall blocking it, yet I can't see a wall - I see the enchanted forest. Slapping the transparent wall I scream as loud as I can, I feel frightened and lost. I've been kidnapped tossed into a hidden cave and I doubt I'll see anyone alive again.
"Cynthia?" The glowing figure questions.
"Y-y-yes, mine name is Cynthia," I stutter in reply.
"Cynthia - I have only a limited amount of time to speak to you, young dragon. My name is Kamirth the forth and I like three others before me, sadly failed to protect the ruby crystal hidden inside one of the houses in Fommer village. You Cynthia are the fifth and last dragon Haol can summon."
"I don't mean to sound rude Kam-Kamirth, but the last time I looked - I was human," I interrupt with a slight sarcastic tone.
"As confusing as it may seem, you're a Dragon Cynthia. Now listen carefully - As soon as Haol summons you, you must make haste and break out of here. The longer you stay trapped as a Dragon in Verath's cave the weaker you'll become and this weakness I speak of will turn the cave we stand in - into your grave."
"Oook, I must be dreaming, this is bullshit!" I scream at Kamirth.
"Unfortunately it is not. Cynthia, once you have broken out of here your task will be to fly above Fommer Village, find Verath and without remorse tear him into tiny pieces. This will end his evil spell on the crystal and the villagers shadows can finally return to their owners."
"Hang on a minute K-Kamirth, Right so - this Verath has found the crystal, which obviously weren't hidden very well and is casting a spell on the ruby crystal which gives him the power to steal shadows that belong to the villagers of Fommer. I guess, these shadows are now Verath's minions and do his dirty work - like the assholes that trapped me in here," I say in a way to make sense of things.
"How will I know Haol is summoning me?" I ask puzzled and feeling a little embarrassed. I mean it could be a prank couldn't it, I'm not going to turn into a dragon - that's unnatural?
"Trust me Cynthia, you'll know," Kamirth says as his form fades to nothing and I'm left alone again.
I'm not alone in the cave for long before a voice from deep inside me begins to make its self known.
"I summon you Cynthia, the ruby crystal has been abused and needs your protection."
And with that my body lurches forward toward the entrance, I suddenly slam into the invisible wall but that doesn't stop my body as it throws itself backwards onto the floor. While I'm wriggling around I find I've got no control over myself and I hear it - tearing. My skin separates revealing a claw in place of my index finger, horrified I look on as the other claws appear through my broken skin and my well kept human nails fall to the floor, one by one. At first the change is painless. I don't know if it's due to shock that what Kamirth actually said is true that this isn't a dream, its reality the pain hits me and it hits me hard.
"Cynthia go! You're the villager's last hope - save the crystal, save them and destroy the evil wizard Verath!" Haol screams from somewhere deep inside me.
So with out wasting anytime, I don't want this cave to become my grave. I spread my wings, flick off any remaining human parts that was left clinging to my new body after the change and then I proudly fly up as fast as I can, bursting through the caves roof as I do.
I fly around in search of the little village which doesn't take me long find. In the distance I see a bright red beam - erupting from a small village, which must be it.
I circle the village a number of times and notice no one seems to have any clue I'm here - the villagers are all frozen and red. After my fifth round I spot him in the middle, chanting loud, irritating words. While he's distracted I go for it, I do what the four before me couldn't, swoop down into Fommer with my jaws open wide and grab a seemingly red Verath tightly around the waist.
I hear someone cackling, it's distracting.
"Cynthia, you're the most gullible of the five dragons - I must admit."
I pause - listening with the broken body in my mouth.
"Kamirth never spoke to you, it was actually one of my wonderful minions - he was convincing right? Haol cannot contact you while you're inside my cave - my lair; you really think I'd be so stupid to allow that. I knew you'd be summoned and break out so - I placed a ruby fake in the middle of Fommer, ready for you - Dragon to get your filthy jaws onto!"
"I'll find you, you can't hide forever. You're somewhere in the village - it's only a matter of time before I find you Verath!" I spit as I drop the broken fake.
"No Cynthia, you will not. You snapped my ruby fake and now you must take his place - Mwhahaha!"
And that's when I realise that all along this was just Veraths plan. He pretended to be a dead Dragon to earn my trust, somehow convinced Haol to summon me and willingly allowed me to find his ruby fake. Breaking it was what he wanted, I did and now I'm cursed.
Falling from the sky I scream out in defeat as I come to realise - no one is left to save Fommer, I failed. A lonely tear leaves my eye - falling just as a single raindrop would before I hit the ground with a smash, I shatter into many ruby pieces and the little drop of water splashes upon me afterwards to mark the end of the last Dragon.
