IMMORTALITY IN LOVE

Short story By: denada
Fantasy

My soul, your soul, Melted inside the traces of the desert of our love.
The combustion of love, the passions we have crossed over the fragments of all oceans.
I can still see you within the blindness of my eyes. You would be the light that awakes me in my dark nights. You are the darkness of my compassion. The infinitive dream that brings the echo of my soul. The song of my heart that never ends, never roars. A drop of tear that fall into the radicals of my happiness. The delusion of my soul. Madeline you have taken the land of my heart. You and I lost into the exhalation of our spirits.

Madeline threw her veil in a second and she jumped from the carriage leaving the young gentleman alone in the middle of the forest. I don't wish to marry you she said, there is no such law that can invade my heart, I will never belong to you.
Her eyes looked hollowed out from the terror her doing might had led her to, she hid her self after an old oak tree and kept the silence of her mute words within the depth of her sin. In a gasp she shuddered from the frizzing winter on the 17th century in France.
From far away she heard screams more like roars of a morbid mind, a monstrous man that wished her to he his.
A gentleman of high class, an aristocrat that her family had to marry her with in order for them to gain some conformability.
I will never be his, I will better be spending my life in a cypress, forgotten by the world then marry him, she had said this to her father when he had represented the gentleman to her. And then she had closed her self into her chamber, filled with an endless sorrow that was gnawing away her soul.
Love! She dreamed of love, such feeling she would never recoil, never for condemnation in misery, for love would be her salvation, the salvation away from the absolutism regime of the king. No, love can't be such a mundane thing she said in a whisper, rampant from destroying her marriage, escaping in the unknowing field, escaping her own destiny.
She was delicate, beautiful, white skin and her long black hair like some silk had been poured into her. She coiled herself on that huge tree feeling infallible for her doing she wrinkled her eyebrows and waited. It could had been the longest wait in her life, it could had been eternal, she didn't care, such eternity was better then her marriage; such death would be her salvation.
That was exactly what she thought., so she fell asleep in the middle of the forest where sounds of the animals were the only one that would accompany her through the preternatural dreams. An illusion, she was flying away, her body becomes lighter and some man was holding her into his arms. In terror she opened her eyes. It was dark, the night had invaded the horizon, it had played a bit with the light of the day and now they were substituting each other until a certain moment would arrive and they would replace again, continuing their duty until God would permit it too.
Madeline was trying to run, the night was young she had to find some shelter she said, but the little drops of rain that were falling into her skin made her think it was a cataclysmic, a torrent river of tears that was making her trip towards the unknown even harder, May be this a challenge, challenge from God she said madly running through the forest. God! She said while she fell in a small swamp that trapped her foot, God , for I know I had failed my marriage, you know my true desires, such desires I cant hide from you, please let me live through them even if it will be for a moment. Let me find love she said in an eruption of tears. Love! Unfaithful felling we trust to be unsaid happiness of ours, a right path that often leads to the wrong one But we live through it, careless for the sorrows it creates in us..
She turned her head behind, there was a man, his eyes gleaming of their green color, his face white like a ghost, his body robust, strong. He had reached for Madeline and pulled her away from the swamp. She looked at his beauty for she had never seen nothing like it before, he must be a dream, perhaps the same one I sow before she said. She swoon when she had reached closer to him, he was real, she touched his hand, he was real, yet she didn't believe it. This is an illusion of my mind, I can't detach him from a dream the reality of seeing such creature God has made can't reach the extremities of my mind so carefully that for a moment I remained aghast.
Are you all right, he said. Yes she replayed and then he touched her face her soft skin. He took her into his arms and ran with her into a shelter that smelled of incense, it was a small hut, not so clean inside, but she didn't care. She dried her hair into the fire and got closer to her, What is your name he asked her, Madeline she said, but she didn't ask him back. Madeline, have you ever loved someone he asked to her, she remained mute, turned her head to the fire and quickly expressed a mute desire into the heart, no, but I wish to love you she said in her mind..
He read her mind, reached her and then he said to her, I am condemned to be a son of devil, forgotten from God I cant love you thought but if I did, if I just had a chance to outlive love I would live it with you, and laid next to her, started caressing her and said.,
My soul, your soul, Melted inside the traces of the desert of our love.
To then become one gathered until eternity.
And then Madeline followed with him,
Adoration and contempt.
Love and detestation.
Delight and desperation.
Victory and defiance.
Life and death. Light and darkness
I wish to be forever yours, she said and reached his kiss, his touch.
No he threw her away, such love is evil, for you see he said showing to her his teeth, I am immortal, I have lived 3 centuries, year after year to find love, I am a predator, a savage that lives out of human blood, one that is accumulating death night after night, I am locked into my infernal doom, how I can I love when no one can love me, no one can except me, a vampire destined to live in eternity.
Then our love will be eternal she said and reached again for him, let me die with you and if eternity doest exist then I will reach the same streets you had, I wish to be yours, yours to fall madly in love with your world , for what I have always longed for you even when I didn't know you..
No, he said I cant do it, you cant be with me in this curse, this is a curse , I am forgotten from humanity, forgotten from God, forgotten from Evil.. Immortality doest exist this way, being a vampire doest means to have immortality, love means to have immortality… Love , invincible feeling, conquering my heart. Looking at you, I knew that we could blend together, but how, this way, you are a mortal, and I.. A beast.. A monstrous beast..
I will be your bask, kill me, make me yours for what I know I will die for love…you are my love.
He looked at her, thirsty for her love, thirsty for a life they couldn't reach to make together, and then he run for her, made her his, the throbbing of her heart and her beauty becoming his..
Madeline opened her eyes the next day, what happened she asked him, while he caressed her hair softly as not to wake her up.. You are one of us he said, you are a vampire Madeline, he said and kissed her again. She hugged him, he was with her, yet not even the atrocious death could separate them.
He dressed, closed the curtains over her and then in silence he left.. Madeline was laughing, she was smiling away, for her prayers have been heard, she knew he was her love, her ideal love, her image, her everything her life and death both. But as she did so, outside there were some voices, she felt the wheels of the carriage and she jumped outside, there was the man she had to marry, he was holding the hand of the vampire, and then he set fire to him. Madeline was thinking man are savages, beasts are not, and then she jumped with him into the fire, burned her soul and existed love with him until not even a vapor from that love could find a shelter into the unmerciful land of earth. They had flown, together in hatred, together in love, flown to new destination, not even death could separate them…
