To End It All
“I can’t die. I’m forced to remain in this world, all due to one decision. I should have chosen death.”
“There is an object, you know; something that will kill anything. It will send your soul on, no matter what you are.”
“What is this object?”
“It’s rumored to be called the Blade of Goodbyes.”
“Fitting name, where do I find it?”
“The place it is to be hidden was Remembrance Cave.”
“Remembrance Cave, why is it called that?”
“They say the cave holds a waterfall, but most say it is just a mere trickle of water. At the base of the waterfall lays a pond. In that pond, you can replay any moment in history, like a television screen. Many people have ventured there and say that it is life-changing.”
“And where hides the Blade of Goodbyes?”
“The tallest stone, the precise rock the stream of water jets under, has an imprint engraved upon it. It is said to be a dagger. The few who have climbed the cavern’s walls say words are etched upon the surface, just under the picture. ‘Here lies the Blade of Goodbyes, The one to remove the blade, their soul will be the one to fade.’”
“Has anyone achieved in removing the dagger?”
“No, the only people strong enough to reach the cave are the bravest of hearts. The people fit to enter the cave would never end their lives willingly.”
“Would I make it to the cave?”
“You are immortal, are you not?”
“As I have told you, yes I cannot die. Where do we begin our journey? How does one get to Remembrance Cave?”
“A series of tasks, once completed you will know the way to the cave.”
“What is the first task?”
“I will show you, come. This is where we start our journey."
