I ran until my thighs felt as if they were being burned and my lungs were so constricted I could barely breathe. I had to get away from the enemy, they have been trying to kidnap me for years, countless attacks on our palace and few times they were close to getting me. They desperately needed me for I was the only healer in our hidden land and only heir to the throne. You see I am the princess of Usksamban and my father is the enemy. He is also king to our neighbouring land; many people's lives were sacrificed for mine as my mother wanted me safe and to be the Queen of Usksamban. It hurt to know people in the land loathed me as many of their family members lives were taken from them for to keep me safe.

I heard the sound of twigs snapping under heavy feet and knew someone was behind me. Instead of running, I turned around and looked at him. I could tell he was utterly confused; I gave him my sweetest smile then punched him in the stomach and pushed him to the ground. I turned around and ran. I knew there as a safe house near the waterfall so I headed for that direction. My mother and the guards would find me as my mother and I share a strong physic bond, she could read my mind, track where I was and other incredible things. I saw the entrance and darted towards it. I dove into the surprisingly warm pool of water and came up the other side of the gushing water. It was a small cabin sized room with food supplies and essentials. I walked over to the single sized bed and laid down I was dripping wet and sore but I was exhausted. I closed my eyes and drifted off to a calm, undisturbed sleep.

I woke to the noise of a loud splash and heavy footsteps. It was strange, my mother always sends me a mind message warning me its her but I didnt hear one. I squinted my eyes to see who it was, I couldnt see anyone. I quickly sat up and jumped off the bed. I turned around slowly and stand two paces behind me was my childhood friend Jarrad. I couldn't believe it. We had known each other since birth, but I hadn't seen him for almost seven years, after the war broke out with my father and Jarrad and is family were forced to stay. He looked so different, his long, blonde hair was now a short, shaggy, dark brown. He still had the beautiful riverstone, brown eyes. He looked amazing, strong, but he looked scared, hurt, tired and cold. I realised I had been staring at him for a while now and quickly snapped out of it and cleared my throat.
